Sounds like you could be in the wrong video mode for your TV. You can get a B&W picture, rolling, or blank depending on your TV. Did you change PAL for NSTC or something?

There is an enigma video selecter disk but I've forgotten the key presses to change it blindly.

Turn off the caps lock for a start.
Also look at the section you are posting in. This has what to do with alternative mod chips?

wHEN I START UP MY XBOX MY SCREEN ROLLS OR FLASHES. IT DOES THIS ALL THE WAY INTO MY EVOX DASHBOARD AND DOESN'T STOP. IT ONLY STOPPED SORT OF WHE NIT GAVE ME THE XBOX REQUIRES SERVICE SCREEN. BUT IDON'T SEE THAT SCREEN NEMORE. MYXBOX BOOTS FINE EXCEPT FOR THE ROLLING SCREEN. WHAT IS GOING ON? THANKS ALOT AND SRRY FOR CAPS.!

you have the linux cromwell bios and a s-video cable?  Boots fine all the way to dash then rolling? Er, dont get you all the way.

ok here it is a little simpler. my xbox boots fine but my screen is rolling. Thats basically it. A rolling screen. Once when i moved the modchip i got the "your xbox requires service" message andi that wasn't rolling but when  my xbox is set up well and it boots up fine i get the rolling screen. Even if i play a game off of the dvd-rom. It's just a rolling / flashing screen.
