Chevydash, is another msdash mod. But a very good one, which unfortunatly has incurred the wraith of Jbone. You can see more about it on the xboxdash.net forums (on x-s). I highly recommend it.

alphaxav thanks.  If you want anything from my mod please go ahead and add it to yours, there is no copyright here just fun.  I want what everyone else wants. which is the coolest MS Dash we can come up with?

Also just uploaded any update only called Aug22UpdateOnly.rar which included the scrolling systempanel and music timeslider.

I told you guys before in my posts that I wanted jbone to finish his work.  Don't you guys remember my post about what's up with final.  I told him there that I was a fan of his.  I had a copy of 2gams dash and just didn't like the feel.  So I just wanted to try to make one?  It just a hobby for me just like motorcycles if I can do something I will.  No one will every replace JbOnE so I don't know why he thinks something is going to change?  JbOnE will make the best dash ever I just want to have fun with modding and that is the main reason I'm here so don't hate me.

Not sure what going on with that but I will look into it.  I just want to get untextured updated with a skin.xap that works with original, but the main tab is white so there seems to be some bug in the skin code or maybe the placement in the code?  That is my main focus today.  Does the music timeslider work fine?

hey chevy, its a shame chevydash was removed from the tHc forums. anyway,

is chevydash at a safe and usable stage. i haven't uploaded to my xbox yet, but is it safe for me to set it as my default dash?
oh and you know that link you posted with the halo 2 background taken from the Halo2 trailer with MC standing on the left holding a machine gun on the ship etc, where can i find that pic and how do i set it as the background picture? i want it to look exactly like that picture did. it has the silver outlined tabs etc.

 nice , i like it , the System Panel is back and with more info.


found a bug , if you turn off Auto Dash Music , then you reboot , Hit X , the clock hides but theres no Control Panel and the dash gets laggy , but if i press the Left Stick for the secondary Player and play a song , then the control panel works again until i reboot.

Untextured Update is now out!  UntexturedAug23.rar  Skin.xip was added some small updates to fullscreen visual.  Also it has all of the current updates that textured has.

Dammit!  For the love of me i cant get the hard drive tab to work.  Everything else is fine.  I configured the the hard drive tab using both methods and nothing.  I am using the settings style with submenus.  It gets the games folder and apps.  But it doesnt even run the emulators on it just beeps like there is no emulators folder and when i click on my homebrew tab it sends me to the music style1 with submenus with every tab blank.  What the crap is going on.  Been at this for more than an hour.  Chevy maybe you can shed some light on this.

Great Chevy, im actually very glad to hear your adressing this problem cuz the choosing of menu and sub menu styles was one of the main reasons i moved from lite to original.  Also, i think it would be more practical to create an icon.xip and music.xip so that our default.xip isnt so crowded.  Also what do you mean by visual panel in control panel?  Maybe i can help you out.  Keep up the great work!

Hey Sheriff to get untextured to work just use on of your xbe from lite and rename it thc.xbe.  THen rename the folder tHc_Dash_v1B.10027001 to thcdata.  Itll work everytime.

Hey Chevy did you add the thc lite intro to the dash? If i load the dash from my larger drive it just loads directly into the menu but, when i put in my original drive back in with the dash installed in it, it does show the thc lite intro. I dont get  why it would'nt load the same on my larger drive.

Good to see you're still working on it Chevy although you should be sure to give out credits. I understand that your idea was to give credits in the final version of chevy dash but maybe you could do it now? Just a short list of people to avoid further problems?

It worked fine. I went with a var a = 4; it slows the animation down just enough. Thanks   for finding a fix

will it still show the icons and not freeze after that? cause after the white tabs and no icons in the orb it freezes after 15 minutes.

EDIT: the Game_hilite_01 and outline to the default.xap worked to eliminate the white tabs (thanks darkzone) but the dash still froze after 15 minutes, also the texture on the rotating X just turns white, the control panel loses the icons for stop, forward etc.. and the hardrivebg wont work also. If I reboot it works fine again until I go into the memory manager again.

ok guys if you are gonna ignore all of my posts lol then i'll just make another post.

everyone i am new to chevydash, i would like it to look exactly like it does at the top of this page, the background, skin and everything, that pic that chevy posted. can someone tell me what files i need and what i need to do to get it up and running please. i currently have thc original blue on my c drive so could someone give me a quick run thorugh of what i need and what i need to delete etc. i have the ftp server written down somewhere. just need help setting up please. thanks, help much appreciated.

total_ass just download TexturedAug24.rar off of chevy's server.  Delete your old thc blue and install chevy's dash.  Then to change backgrounds go to the customization menu and change the starting background to whatever is in the pic.  You'll have to use trial and error (i dont know the exact background number, there are only 3 so it shouldnt be too hard).  Then your all done.

ok im taking off tHc, there is a folder called xboxdashdata.1012A700. is this part of tHc or a system folder because i don't remember putting it on when i installed tHc.

That's what untextured is for!  It takes alot of time texturing the dash I know I was the first.  As far a a tutorial for skinning you just need to know this metal is the main texture, metalcolor is the tubes and keys on keyboard, metalbright is the 2 top controlpanel panels, Black is just a transparent backing, and the rest well you know what that is.  I did change the orbs to use CellEgg/Parts instead of menucell.  Now that should be all you need to know for the skinning of textured.

you got an untextured dash too?

my thc original dash uses this folder: xboxdashdata.10027100 ... n tHc Lite uses tHcdata if i'm not mistaken

i have np running ur textured dash.. but when i tryed ur untextured i get a black screen when i upload this folder tHc_Dash_v1B.10027100 n rename the evoxdashi.xbe to thcdash.xbe ..
n if i rename tHc_Dash_v1B.10027100 to xboxdashdata.10027100 with same xbe,thcdash.xbe, i get error 21

want to texture only this in main menu..

chevydash is cool. how often do you update it?

also one small minor problem. when moving the main menu it doesn't seem as smooth as tHc original. is this due to the fact that there are more menu options and a detailed background etc? is there any way to optimise it or am i to live with it?

EDIT: also is the august24 textured or untextured? and is the most recent pic chevy posted textured or untextured? please forgive my n00bness, but i am really new chevydash/tHc.

Hey heet just use one of your thc lite xbes.  Reaname the folder tHc_Dash_v1B.1002701 to thcdata.  Hey chevy also can i upload an xbe for you to use with your untextured to end all this confusion?  It'll be under chevydash.xbe in your upload section.

post 2) chevydash is mentioned again in the restructuring of xd.net - there's also an appology.
@Chevy   I think you should accept the "sorry" from tHc and start your thread again in the proper forums...it sucks having to come in here specially to see if there's any updates.

I was just thining about the relationship between the ms dash mods today.  I am so happy that it is all resolved (except for the bsx thing, but whatever).  JbOne even apologized.  What more could we ask for.  Finally we will truly see the msdash pushed to its limits with all this different groups woring together.  Chevy start a new thread in the thc forum and enjoy your time in the sun.  You really are doing some great work.

 i have three xbxs on the skin xip.. Background 1,2 n 3.... thats how much it says on default.xip/xap



i think same thing hapens on textured..it loads first pic, but not second
also, how about adding in Configuration Mode an option to have the 5th tab on or off.... imo, i think it looks better with 4 tabs.only, but thats just me

Also, on untexture, under Harddrive, games etc, doesnt show how much space its left on F drive just E

Okay, maybe this is turning into a slight obsesion but I downloaded chevy's latest update textured 24th. Anyways I have done nothing with the dash but install it on my hard drive and still if I hit (Y) no system panel comes in? what am I doing wrong??

Man, I just dont know what I am doing to make that little feature not work LOL
I erased everything off the C drive all but the Fonts directory and Audio directory.
I then redownloaded TexturedAug24 and unpacked it and placed it on the C drive. Dash starts up fine. Hit Y and my hard drive lite blinks once and then nothing1 Bah. LOL I think I need my medication.

In settings under video settings if you select (wide screen) hitting Y will now no longer function. and of course I use a hdtv wide screen! Damn it LOL
can anyone help fix this bug?

Hi guys I haven't left just yet just spent sometime away from all the shit going on.  Also I got a chance to fix my hdd which was something I have been waiting to do.  I thought I could just go back to playing games, but it doesn't feel the same I miss modding.  Tonight I will continue to work on the mod.  Darkzone if you have some cool ideals please go ahead with them or pm me if you need some info.  Also for anyone that wants to help please do this is an open project.  Well I see what I can do tonight to help finish what I started.

Here is a new screenshot of the textured dash I wanted to have more finished, but this is all for now.  Using any xip other than the default.xip has problems for holding main xbx's.  A fix means having to change the main xbe to allow another spot to look for xbx's other that default.xip.  So this update doesn't use the skin.xip even though I left it. Maybe a cool autochanging system could be designed that changes everything to match the current background.

Panels Moved
MetalBright Texture Removed
Most of the menus now have volume, quicklaunch, and background change functions.

This still uses the same folder names so for easy just use the find and replace functions on thc.data data file.  Sorry untextured fans just to much time spent trying to fix the skin.xip problem.

 the sep 6 is too buggy.

1. It doesnt save the Sub Menu Contents , if i choose to only have 5 subs after reboot it goes back to 6 , if i change the content to games , after reboot it changes back to reboot option instead of games.

2. On System Panel the lame My Games , My Applications , ect. still show even if i edited the names and contents shows all 0.

3. I dont like the Hard Drive style.

need to fix some stuff now..like putting texture back on panels. but its fixed with the orbs



also need to fix the clock panel..lol.. i cant see the time/date clearly

ok i got everything fixed, well almost, i just need to fix these orbs.. everything else its textured n all except for these part, want to make the orbs like the top picture





I know its on default.xap of musicplayedit2.xip..i have tryed changing it like i did with the other xaps, put when i go to one of my soundtracks the music panel dont show.
