Hey there - I'm brand new to hacking my XBox so I need some help.
I have 2 Xboxs - one has the latest version of the dash (5659). I want to replace that version with the older version from my original Xbox so that I can install Xebian using the MA software mod - what do I do?
I think I am supposed to copy some files (via FTP) from the old box and then copy them back into the new xbox?
Please help.

That'll work, as long as the new XBox doesn't have kernel 5713 or greater.  (Maybe it'll even work if the Kernel is 5713 or later, if the "old dashboard" is a new enough version.  Dash 4920 is certainly not new enough.)

I've done it.  Process involved simply deleting all of C: and then, hoping like heck that the power doesn't go out before I finish the next step, FTP'ing the files from the other Xbox.  I've actually done that numerous times without issue (on two Xboxes... I switched the dashboards and then switched back).
