Joebuckton - Now it's in the correct forum.

Now that you are here, please listen CAREFULLY:

Post in the correct places. Dump the attitude yourself, unless you've got a good reason. Slamming neXgen is NOT a good reason, you will see from this forum there are plenty of 'tards who seem to do nothing more than that. Being pushy will also fail to win you any brownie points here.

As a developer, my attitude towards ungrateful, pushy users is to take a nice long break, go on vacation, play my Xbox, and maye finish it up for a 3 month private beta test before I let Mr. "I Want It NOW" have a crack at it.

On the other hand, if somebody set up an account somewhere, handed it over to me with loads of donations, I'd probably dedicate even more time and effort, and insure it WAS the best thing ever.

Now, re-read everything above. Digest it. Please realize you are NOT the center of the universe, and welcome to Xbox-Scene (hopefully a little more patient and humble)

Well, it was significant because of the UI.

Dashboards are becoming more varied, with the release of Avalaunch (filemanager, telnet, IRC, FTP clients), and soon, MXM as 'dashable' (skinnable 2D interface, higher-end UI geared towards games launching, soon to have an FTP server).

Some functions, such as Evo-X's flashing capability will soon be relegated to utility app status, and honestly, much of the stuff past a decent menuing system is not required 95% of the time anyway, except for occasional use.

neXgen has a nice 3D interface. It will probably try and do all of the 'Evo-X' tasks, and hopefully, supplant all of the M$ dashboard functionality (audio ripping, saves management).

Still, all of this takes time. It was unfortunate. but the team apparently got fed up after the reaction to a rushed release. The pre-release hype didn't help. So being stung by this, they seemed to have regrouped and may have something a bit more solid out soon (by that, I mean probably as functional or more so than Evo-X).

The decision to go open source is a great one as well, and shows which developers really care about the community, over their own egos.

Oh... and we all have bad days. Nice to see you have an open mind. Welcome!
