If you know anyone that has an xbox with a modchip, you could hook your harddrive up to their xbox.  Then you could run a dashboard off of a disc put your backed up stuff back on to your harddrive.  Otherwise I can't think of any other way besides buying a modchip.

..... You can send me a PM if you are interested in a harddrive. They're not worth too much to me so I'll sell it for a reasonable price (alot cheaper than a new Xbox, that's for sure)

I had the classic problem of uninstalling unleash X. I tried to just delete the files from the gamesaves on the dash. Afterwards, anytime that I had the disk tray opened it failed to load unleash X or the stock dash...so I had the error 13 but could still load games. Now, after doing nothing else to the xbox, it is showing up with an error 16 when trying to load games. Unleash X was originally exploited via Mechassault. Is there any hope at all for this xbox or should I just get a new one? Any info would be great. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I never unlocked my original hard drive or my roommate's original.  They both run in either xbox, but let me make sure they are locked and they run on either xbox.

Seems that the original harddrives I have  are unlocked.  Been a while since I've even touched them.   Now that I think about it, I don't think  another xbox with a modchip could use your locked hard drive.  The easiest way to fix your problem is to get a modchip.
