Title: Mxm Skin Problem
Post by: Frag Daddy on July 17, 2003, 05:27:00 PM
I'm having a problem getting a skin to load using the newest version of the MXM dash.  My MXM.xml looks like this:

<Config>
<Main>
<DiscTitle>Media X Menu</DiscTitle>
<DiscSubtitle> </DiscSubtitle>
<skinpath>c:MXMSkins</skinpath>
</Main>
</Config>

I have a folder called MXMSkins on my c drive with the 'It's About Choice" skin folder in it.  I boot up to MXM and go to configure to load my skin but it doesn't show up.  What do I do now?

Is there a file called "mxm_skin.xml" in the "It's about Choice" folder?  Like so:

C:\MXMSkins\It's about choice\mxm_skin.xml

I had the same prob.  Make sure you have the skin in its own folder inside c:\MXMSkins.  Here is my xml if it helps.

<Config>
<Main>
<DiscTitle>Media X Menu</DiscTitle>
<DiscSubtitle>Matrix Test Configuration</DiscSubtitle>
<SkinsPath>C:MXMSkins</SkinsPath>
</Main>
<Network>
<UseDHCP>True</UseDHCP>
<IP>192.168.2.28</IP>
<DNS1>0.0.0.0</DNS1>
<DefaultGateway>192.168.2.1</DefaultGateway>
<SubnetMask>255.255.255.0</SubnetMask>
</Network>
<Preferences>
<FTPPriority>highest</FTPPriority>
<SynchronizeClock>true</SynchronizeClock>
<Nickname>J's XBOX</Nickname>
</Preferences>
<FTPServer>
<User>
<Name>xbox</Name>
<Password>xbox</Password>
</User>
</FTPServer>
</Config>

<skinspath>c:MXMSkins</skinspath>

i had that problem too , but when i added the \ after the c it worked.

so it should be <skinspath>c:\MXMSkins</skinspath>

<SkinsPath>C:\MxMskins<SkinsPath>

Even like this?

I run mine from F:\Skins without problems (F: is nice, more space)

remeber you have to have a \ after c:

for example ----->     <SkinsPath>C:\MxMskins<SkinsPath>

if you dont have the backslash it wont work.
