I pulled this from another post about the news reader function.

add:

<LayoutElement Type="Text" Source="newsfeed">
<Pos x="72" y="50" w="460" h="30" />
<TextColor>0xFFFFFFFF</TextColor>
</LayoutElement>

To the MXM_SKIN.xml of the devoid skin

Not working for me. I was guessing to put in inbetween <Layout Screen="Menu">  .... </Layout>

Is this correct?

Yes, but position matters too. All things in the Layouts are rendered first-to-last, meaning if you put it at the TOP of the layout, it will likely be BEHIND something.

You also need to define the newsfeed you want in your MXM.xml - use the example I posted in the pinned thread.
