Title: Mxm Video Audio
Post by: frank479 on October 13, 2005, 12:28:00 PM
I am having trouble enabling audio with MXM.  I started using ZXBTools to create a multigame disc and noticed that the audio from the wmv8 videos was not playing.  After researching this a bit I learned that you can add <overrides> and <AllowVideoSound> tags into the MXM.xml file to turn on preview audio.  I tried various incarnations of that but it didn't work.  Then, I attempted to launch several .wmv videos (encoded in WMV8) on the xbox hard drive that I knew were good pc videos and it still didn't play any audio.  So, I'm starting to think that it's not MXM but rather my XBOX.  Am I missing some files on my xbox that would normally allow me to play (and hear) wmv files?  I'm using Unleash X.  From what I can tell I'm using the default.xbe that comes with MXM.  I've been assuming all along that it supports audio if you enable it with XML.

I shouldn't expect MXM, though, to play videos with audio if the XBOX itself can't.  I really need some guidance here.
