Title: Cant Load Dashboard After Computer Dvd-rom Mod

My laser in my xbox dvd-rom started being picky with alot of my burn games. Just recently, i have gotten a new HD put in (200GB), but i was having troubles copying all my games over onto it.  So I decided to do the computer DVD-ROM mod (where i used a standard dvd-rom from my computer and hook it up to the xbox) . Now I can play all  the games, but i cant get to the dashboard to the system management, to copy the games onto the HD.

Is there a special way of doing it? or is it just not possible.
