Evox predates the other dashes by quite a bit. And hasn't been developed (actively) in a while.
But it has good points, things that other dashes (until very recently) don't.
Can UnleashX flash a bios file? Can Avalaunch use/make trainers? Can (insert app here) lock your HDD? Etc., etc.
It was an excellent dash for when hardmods were the only option, and does what it should very well.
Don't prefer it? Don't use it.

Note: You might not want to argue the merits of UnleashX's game ripping abilities to much. You'd be better off with DVD2Xbox.
