Title: Hd Ready Tv And Hd Settings
Post by: EmTea on April 14, 2005, 02:54:00 PM
I hgave one of the first HD Ready TVs. It's a Mitsubitshi(sp) and in the manual it says nothing on the lines of what HD modes it supports. I have the MS Advanced A/V pack and hooked it up. I changed the setting in the Dash to 480i, the screen was all fuzzy and pixilated. That made me belive that 480i wasn't supported on my TV. So then I went back and set it to 720i, the game worked fine. It didn't look amazeing though, which led me to belive that it's not working. I haven't tried 1080di but I will soon. Dose any one have any idea on what up?

you mean 480p and 720p and 1080i. p = progressive (HD) i = interlaced.
Try 1080i, but you have to remember that very few games support that resolution, not many support 720p either.

Your TV should support 480i, 480p, and 1080i. It will NOT support 720p. I don't know if your TV requires specific inputs be used for certain modes (for example, some TVs use a specific input for 480p that won't work with 480i or one that does 480p and 1080i but not 480i.) They should be labelled by the inputs on the back of the TV.
Also want to make sure, you say you have the Advanced A/V pack...uh, that one doesn't have 3 video cables (red green and blue), only the HDTV A/V pack does. You will need the HD A/V pack with 3 video cables to get this to work. It will not work over S-Video which is all the Advanced A/V pack has.
