Guys,
I'm running xbmc but use MSDash for DVD playback. Put one of my region 1's in last night (ixbox is region2) and it obviously told me that it couldn't play the disc.
I've had so many DVD players in the last 8-9 years, I forget about multiregion issues!!
Can I patch the MS Dash to play multiregion???? If so whats the name of the patch, I'll find it myself.
If I can't, anyone recommend some multiregion software that will allow use of the MS Remote??
Thanks

lose the remote. get Dongle Region Free DVD Player - it's in the usual places.

There is a ms dash dvd patcher for mult-region dvd playback.
Look here and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Tried Dongle Region Free but seems a waste of a remote. I don't like the idea of using my gamepad with XBMC etc.
Got the Patch........Sweet ! Thanks

Failed to mention the the AVA dvd playback is much better then the ms dvd playback. It supports 480p, and the higher resolutions of 720p and 1080i; it upconverts the movies to these res, of course.
You should check it out.
