Title: Hdd Size Not Detected
Post by: Tug on May 01, 2006, 09:09:00 AM
Hi all,

I have a question that I cannot seem to find the answer too... perhaps I didn't look hard enough and the forum search is down. Anyway... I have a modded xbox that I replaced the original harddrive with a 120 GB and it detected it fine... I ummm ran out of space backing up games and I upgraded my HDD to a 320, yet now it is not fully detecting the size of my HDD does anyone know why and how to fix. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You should partition the drive with xbpartitioner.

Having that big of an F drive invites trouble. Also
some older Bios don't recognize over 137gig.

You may end up with a 137gig F and G which
would make you losing about 30gigs.

You should look at redoing your softmod with
Krazie's Ndure 1.1. That will allow you to use
the most out of the drive.

( all the above assumes you have a softmod )

If you are using a chipped Xbox you would need
to flash the chip with the latest Bios.

Thanks very much for the reply. I actually have a chipped 1.6 with the xenium spice. I have the M8 1.6 plus on there and it still is not detecting the full size of the drive. Is there a later and greater Bios for the 1.6 boards? Thanks for your help. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I am not sure about mod chips.

You can still try the xbpartitioner to
see if it will give you the full size of
the drive to use.

Just don't mess with the drives in the
top pane.

Make sure you're running a BIOS with LBA48 support (137GB+)
Rebuild it with SlaYer's
Also make sure the G Drive is enabled in whatever you're using.
