Who chipped it? Just so that people know to AVOID GETTING MODS FROM THIS TWAT!
How can a knackered BIOS not be connected to the chip? IT'S ON THE BLOODY CHIP!
-
Happened to me too. The flashing lights of doom. My xbox was working, i went to eat came downstairs. It ends up my dog had been trying to get some food off of my xbox, and tipped it off my table. The AV was broken. It did not have the same led's as most people did though, mine was just a red and blank flashing. So I got it fixed. Then i found out that the av was broken. it didn't look broken when i opened it, but even the slightest break can cause it. also... is your fan working? if not it could be a section of the board burnt out.
-
fan works just get FRAG and nothing on screen its a BIOS/chip problem i know but i want to know if it can be fixed because if not im giving up on xbox as im not forking out another £100 plus for a new one
-
Reflash the chip or replace it with a decent one. Xbox itself should be fine (remove chip and it should boot retail BIOS).

ok opened my xbox today and to my supprise NO CHIP no pin header install no nothing a totaly clean board i think i have been screwed anyway to fix this as im about to go and kill the bloke that did this

i know thier was a chip in cos you could see it when u turned on xbox but when it broke i sent it back to him to fix as it was only a week down the line now he has took out the chip but the board looks as though it hasnt been touched if i get a new chip put in will it work again or not?
-
If he didn't mess up the LPC, the D0 points, or some other traces, you might be able to install a new chip. Does it frag since you got it back?
-
please help as its drving me mad how can it still frag with no mod chip in is it something other than the chip and can it be fixed

Im just a simple noob when it comes to this.. I just borrowed a friends chipped xbox yesterday and Im pretty sure I ruined it:/..
So this is what I did, and I know it was stupid but still.. I didnt get a game working from the HD that i really wanted to play. So, what I did was go into Flash bios, and said, hey why not try this. So I did, and I had no idea what it would do, but when it said erasing "something" I paniced and turned the xbox off as quickly as possible.
When I tried to restart it, I had the exact same problem as you do.. And now I checked out what bios do and stuff, and on a guide on how to do this I saw that it said, Warning: If done incorrect you could ruin your chip.
And as it seems I really did. So that suckes, but there doesnt seem to be anything I can do now but get the chip replaced. And I guess thats what you have to do to.
Still, I would think there should be some way of just resetting the bios or something, shouldnt it?

Maybe you have a setting that sets your LED to Flash or Cycle or something....
