VizionX1, i think your problem is actually seperate to the others on this thread. i dunno what causes it or how to fix it, but i have seen alot of discussion about it on the official
evolutionx forums when i was looking for help about this thread. you might find some help there, if you cant find anything here.
i had copied some games over from my xbox to store on my computer the day before i noticed any games going missing. the ones that did dissappear, i hadnt got a chance to copy over yet. maybe the moving of large amounts of data about causes some (temporary?) fault/error on the hdd?
I'm using a 1.3 with an Xecuter 2.3 (loaded with xecuter bios 4983.67). I only have an 80gb HD in my box. I do use PxHDD Loader to load my games. I did recently update my XBMC and had played Mercenaries. I personally think it is a conflict with XBMC and PxHDD Loader. When Px Loader tried to delete all my games I shut it off before it cleared everything. I also ftped into my Xbox and had found some files with the extention .tbn. I have never seen those files before and took them off my Xbox. I will do some experimenting and see if I can replicate the issue.
Ok I think I found my culprit. It seems linked to the files with the .tbn extention. Now the wierd thing: After updating my XMBC, I also started using Craxtion. So At first I thought it was XBMC since I hadn't used Craxtion all that much. So Today I did some experimenting. I made sure my stuff was backed up before proceding. So I tried the normal stuff with XBMC I normally use it for. Then went to Px loader and nothing happened. So I started thinking what esle had I done lately that was different. Well I had used Craxtion to transfer some files around. So I fired up Craxtion FTPed to my Xbox and looked at my PX loader folder. I saw the .tbn files. Oh I should note that I had previously ftped to my Xbox to check for any .tbn files and there were none. But in Craxtion I saw them. So I went back to FlashFXP and now I saw the .tbn files. So I took a deep breathe fired up Px Loader and it said "refreshing game list", well while it was "refreshing" my HD space was increasing. So it was deleting my games. So I went back into FlashFXP and deleted the .tbn files, rebooted. Went back into PX loader and everything was fine.
So I'm not sure if this is a bug but I will be posting my results in the Craxtion section to see what is up with this issue.
OK So before I claimed Craxtion had a bug I went I and did some more digging. It is indeed a bug in PxHdd Loader and XBMC. It is related to the .tbn files. Easy fix is to use DVD2Xbox. ( I was actually planning on this anyways)
I found this post HERE
Just to make this clear. IT IS THE .TBN FILES. I sort of jumped to the conclusion that Craxtion created the .tbn. Apologies in advance to Lepper and team. Also XMBC is aware of the issue and it has been fixed on their end. PXLoader has not according to the post above.
So, is it OK for me to stop using PxLoader and start using DVD2XBOX?
Will the XBOX be happy with the mixture of directory entries for the games?
Do I need to remove all the games loaded with PxLoader and reload them with DVD2XBOX or can I just safely start using DVD2XBOX from now on?
I have a problem with Star Wars Obi Wan occasionally locking up when you get killed and it reloads the game off the HDD, and was wondering if PxLoader somehow corrupted it when it was installed.
Hey guys i just loaded mercenaries into my box with hdd load and played a little bit and nothing seemed to happen. Hopefully nothing will. Just wanted you guys to know.
