I like the easy-to-understand organization of the main menu, and the new default skin is pretty awesome looking. The up-to-date apps are good too :)

From "the usual places", although, I must say it isn't as easy as it sounds nowadays with no one seeding.
I have a question/concern. I read the manual and it states that Xbox Live isn't supported officially. Well, those of you that have used the installer, can you confirm or give me advice on how to make it work with Live? If I can't make it work than I won't use the installer. Thanks in advance.

they don't put a link to the global search anywhere but it is a search tool for all newsgroups. Find what you are looking for (look for the par viewer and click it it will find every piece of the program you are looking for and queue it up)
I downloaded Slayer's in 5 minutes from easynews. I always get 500K from easynews which is the max of my internet connection so I don't know what others will get.

when I try to register on the slayer forum

I thought it was just me that couldn't register... Looked all over the slayer forums (that I could get into without registering) and they mention nothing about registration problems. I love ver.2.5 I used it many times. I wanna try 2.6 on a new project in a few weeks, but I need to get the invite from mIRC. That's cool I understand the whole invite thing, but let me in without an invite until you get this whole thing sorted out. Thanx SlaYer, your stuffs the best! Keep it up! I like the post about having avalaunch as an alternative, not just an app.

I still cant register on his forums, even tho I have read the FAQ, no help. I must say the auto installer is one of the best programs I have come across yet. A freaking monkey could do it, so easy and complete. Please help with joining the forum, I would love to post there. I keep gettinbg the timing out error when trying to register, and have tried everything. Thanks to Slayer for a kick ass tool, keep up the good work!!!

ok guys, my problem is a little more messed up I have downloaded slayers evox from 3 different BT sites and all 3 gave me the same thing, the encryption password worked fine but when I install it on my comp it only extracts 3 jpeg files 1 pdf, a text file and a winrar file when I try to extract the file from the winrar it just says that the info is either corrupt and or something along those lines, so if someone can give me some good info on this I dont feel like I am doing anyhting wrong but I was under the understanding that there was an ISO in the Download that u put on cd/rw or dvd-r. im not new to the xbox stuff or ftp stuff or BT but it just doesnt make sense that I am getting the file but the ISO isnt there.
so if u can help me out thats cool

Try getting the latest version of winrar. Sometimes it also helps to unrar the file in your c: drive. Good Luck.

Are you sure thats not the iso? When you unrar the original you will get a front cd cover, back cd cover, one more pic, a pdf, and finally the iso. You will not be able to unrar this. If you have winrar installed it will appear as a winrar file, but in Nero, when you go to burn image you will see it will show up as an iso. Hopw that helps.

I too must take my hat of to the maker of this program. This has eliminated so many complications that can happen during install. That and I love the apps that it comes preinstalled with and how it is so easy to adjust things within the dash after the install.

I love this installer. Worked perfect.
Saved me because for some reason I was not able to ftp into my xbox with the Xenium ICE solderless chip, and was going crazy thinking what I was going to do. Very good usefull tool.

The auto installer is great Thanks Alot. The only thing i couldn't do was back-up thr hard drive before the install.Because i couldn't ftp into my box.But everything worked great.Do i still need to back-up anything after the install?

Love the new 2.6, slayers is so hassle free, but...
I realise that the use of evox is imperative as it is used for the installer itself, but evox is so outdated now would it not be alot nicer to have the option to install avalaunch as the default dash?
Also i think it would be nice to make a static ip version so that users that do use cross over could easily connect from install instead of having to either unpack, edit and repack or burn a seperate static working evox cd.
Just my opinion.

Man it's sad that such a GREAT release is tarnished by the creators REFUSING to give help. They tell you to join THEIR forums, when nobody can log on to them, people have been getting the same error for months. Once again, great release, terrible support. Hopefully in the future they will get this straight and not bitch people out here about asking questions, and making themselves look like jackasses in the process, while there is no viable place to get support. Just my .02

:evil: I cant believe that you guys are bitching about the littliest things. Slayer is the easiest thing to find. READ READ READ that's the only way to learn. There are lots of torrents all over the place and how long does it really take to sign up to the forums, there is even an automated install for XBINS available. Stop crying and do some reading. If the creators had to spend time holding your hands there would not be any EXCELLENT installers available for us to use. :evil:

I am currently in the process of modding the auto-installer so that it only has what i want/use on a daily basis. chances are i will be posting later for tips on modding the installer (after iso extraction) :beer: .
From the sound of it, no one can get onto the slayer IRC channels, am i right? i already have the installer but i wanted to get on the "snoop.burghcom.com" server to download some other files, but i can't. If there is any way around this, please by all means, my ears are open, or PM me.

I'm late to the modding scene, but I just wanted to give a big Thanks! for Slayer's 2.6. I'm runnin an Aladdin chip with the X2 4981 bios and Slayer's has worked great. Thanks for making everything so easy for us n00bs! :)

The install seemed easy, I just took the:
Full install/new rebuild --> c: install
But now my xbox can only reboot in the original way, not the modded way :blink:
Anybody know what 'm doing wrong here?

Well after trying long and hard to get 2.6 im still without it, i dont try irc/xbins etc as im a noob at it. I know the answer, look at the usual places, or go to slayers site which in the end has no download, Tor's take too long or refusals or server errors are highly common and p2p pc for exe/zip is risky.
Now for all the trouble i found one site which divided the installer into 22 parts! my bandwidth got scrwed on that. No one i know owns this neither. So two cents of mine is:
Is SlaYers-Auto-Installer against the law or offensive or something as its so cloak and dagger.
Now the reason i want it is, the guy who did my chip doesnt tell trade secrets, and i had to buy a new hdd to do hotswap because of this then i got an error 6. Slayers would been so helpful then and for the future.

Dude really stop being such a noob. Slayers is out there everywhere, you just are not looking, or rather not using your noodle when you look.
What is error 6 the HDD not locked dont remeber from off top of my head.
But get a newHDD installer from usual places essentially scaled down slayers.
It will lock HDD.
But since you are already modded FTP or copy config magic from DVD drive/iso
USe your noodle thats why god gave it to you.

i'm having the same problem too. i've signed up, now i need to authorize my account. HOWEVER, there's been no email sent to me. ironically, the site asks me to contact an admin. how the heck am i suppose to do that if my account is not active?

Hi, this is certainly not the correct ppace to post it but i was unable to find any contact or valid link to do this.

Since i am unable to get a sucessful registry to slayers forum (waiting for email forever) I have to post my question here (Sorry Slayer):
I have a xbox 1.6 with a duo x2 chip and evo-x m8-16 bios. Everything ok now but i want to go further and made a CD with Slayers autoinstaller 2.6.
I read the manual (many times) and I got the advice to make first a backup of the epprom and bios ....
To do that I need to ftp from pc and I already got the ftp tool to be used i the pc (along with a router or cross over cable, just decide which).
MY QUESTION IS: what really should I do?
1st put cd-rw with slayers int he xbox
2nd turn it on with modchip enable
3rd choose backup option
4th while still on with slayers boot disk, make a ftp connection? Which ip should i use then?
Please help.
I will make the install in a new disk i have (20gbs from wd). When should i replace it?

Well I was unable to register on Slayer's site as well but I was still allowed to go to the IRC channel and download the Slayer's V2.6. I checked it's the authentic version. Apparently you don't have to be registered to do that. Just follow his directions. As first time user of Slayer's installer....I am wondering if there is any special trick to installing the EVox Dashboard with a DuoX2? I have read tutorials till I'm blue in the face but still not sure exactly what to do since it's my first time. I'm still searching for info can anyone point me to the right tutorial?. Please don't flame me over this probably stupid question. People always say to read tutorials but there are so many it's hard to tell which one applies to my case if you're a novice. Thanks for any help here.

Kk, it happened today, i started connecting, and it didnt connect to my xbox. But a few days ago, i tried installing linux, (i already have a chip, with EvoX/UnleashX/X3cl/Avalaunch dashs) but the linux thing, didnt work, first save would just go to Error 21, and the second save would just freeze the xbox. Anyone have ideas?
I was thinking reinstalling everything with slayers, but im worried about the bios things, and i dont have anything from my xbox backed up, can anyone help me??? ( i dont care about the saves or anything, just about the bios stuff, and OS dash)

if you have a chip, the BIOS is flashed to it.
so if you need a dash to reinstall just use Slayer's.

what type of chip do you have? if it is x2 or X3 just hold the white button on start up to go to OS screen, launch hacked bios with Slayers disc in drive and fix.

1) Read the manual yet? That's readily available from the site, as a legit download. You'll find it doesn't do it automatically, as in with no user input whatsoever, but it does do all the partitioning and formatting for you if you select the proper menu command (see manual).
2) Don't ask. Evox, and apps on the disc, and the bioses are all off limits on this forum for either being built with an unlicensed XDK or being outright MS copyrighted propterty.
3) Not sure what you're referring to, but if you mean why Chancer suspended it's because you requested a link/source for the ISO on the forums. Your question #2 above is also a keen example of what NOT to do.
Read the rules (..the rules are pinned at the top of every forum here..), as you clearly haven't grasped them yet. You now have ample time to do so. Next time will be your third and final strike.

Yes, it installs Evox 3935 amongst other things.

No file requests are allowed.
You'll need to read the Guide to Xbins found in the xbox-scene.com Tutorials page for the first steps.. or go to the source at slayer.xbox-scene.com.

I realise that the use of evox is imperative as it is used for the installer itself, but evox is so outdated now would it not be alot nicer to have the option to install avalaunch as the default dash?
Also i think it would be nice to make a static ip version so that users that do use cross over could easily connect from install instead of having to either unpack, edit and repack or burn a seperate static working evox cd.
Just my opinion.

:evil: I cant believe that you guys are bitching about the littliest things. Slayer is the easiest thing to find. READ READ READ that's the only way to learn. There are lots of torrents all over the place and how long does it really take to sign up to the forums, there is even an automated install for XBINS available. Stop crying and do some reading. If the creators had to spend time holding your hands there would not be any EXCELLENT installers available for us to use. :evil:

From the sound of it, no one can get onto the slayer IRC channels, am i right? i already have the installer but i wanted to get on the "snoop.burghcom.com" server to download some other files, but i can't. If there is any way around this, please by all means, my ears are open, or PM me.

Dude really stop being such a noob. Slayers is out there everywhere, you just are not looking, or rather not using your noodle when you look.
What is error 6 the HDD not locked dont remeber from off top of my head.
But get a newHDD installer from usual places essentially scaled down slayers.
It will lock HDD.
But since you are already modded FTP or copy config magic from DVD drive/iso
USe your noodle thats why god gave it to you.

Since i am unable to get a sucessful registry to slayers forum (waiting for email forever) I have to post my question here (Sorry Slayer):
I have a xbox 1.6 with a duo x2 chip and evo-x m8-16 bios. Everything ok now but i want to go further and made a CD with Slayers autoinstaller 2.6.
I read the manual (many times) and I got the advice to make first a backup of the epprom and bios ....
To do that I need to ftp from pc and I already got the ftp tool to be used i the pc (along with a router or cross over cable, just decide which).
MY QUESTION IS: what really should I do?
1st put cd-rw with slayers int he xbox
2nd turn it on with modchip enable
3rd choose backup option
4th while still on with slayers boot disk, make a ftp connection? Which ip should i use then?
Please help.
I will make the install in a new disk i have (20gbs from wd). When should i replace it?

1) Read the manual yet? That's readily available from the site, as a legit download. You'll find it doesn't do it automatically, as in with no user input whatsoever, but it does do all the partitioning and formatting for you if you select the proper menu command (see manual).
2) Don't ask. Evox, and apps on the disc, and the bioses are all off limits on this forum for either being built with an unlicensed XDK or being outright MS copyrighted propterty.
3) Not sure what you're referring to, but if you mean why Chancer suspended it's because you requested a link/source for the ISO on the forums. Your question #2 above is also a keen example of what NOT to do.
Read the rules (..the rules are pinned at the top of every forum here..), as you clearly haven't grasped them yet. You now have ample time to do so. Next time will be your third and final strike.

A simple search on Google found this. Read the second link. The password is in it. I am not posting it here so you can see how simple it was to find. I typed in Slayer's Password and it came up.
Closing this as it has been a dead horse for a while.
