| i got 53" pioneer handles all resolutions up to 1080i |
I'm not aware of any Pioneer 53" TV that supports 720p. I'm pretty sure you are SOL for 720p. :(
yeah my bad does 1080i.... not 720p can't believe it doesnt cover that damn how gay.....
If it's still in the 30 day money back guarantee period, you could return it for something that supports the full HDTV spec.

1080 i is like 540p bandwidth wise. 720 is very taxing on a set.
go CRT FP :luv:
Pioneer and Mitsubishi are two of the CRT based RPTV manufacturers that don't provide for upconversion when fed a 720p signal through the component inputs. Hitachi and Toshiba will upconvert to 1080i (CRT RPTV's native HD resolution). Some other brands will upconvert, a few will downconvert to 480p, and some others will not accept 720p at all. Arguably Mits, Pioneer, and Hitachi make the best CRT RPTVs so that is 1/3 for Xbox owners looking for 720p. The next generation of consoles will have enough power to handle both HD resolutions so this won't be an issue in the future.
