Hi,

I have seen Evox 3935 have an IP address the first time I boot and would become 0.0.0.0 when I restart using reboot option. So change to static IP and put in a valid IP address and try.

I'm going to bet this is a setting issue despite whatever you think about an old evox bug.  Why don't you describe how you have things hooked up... like crossover cable or normal cables to a switch where your computer is hooked up as well etc?

Also on the pc that can't ping the xbox run ipconfig /all from a command prompt and paste those results in here.  Also paste the network section from the evox.ini your xbox is using when you boot it up with the 3935 evox.

do me a favor and drop your subnet to 255.255.255.0 on your pc and xbox then try again.  In theory that shouldn't help you or hurt you at all, but I just want to see.

oh, and you said you had it connected via a crossover so just to be clear you have the crossover cable plugged into your pci ethernet on your computer and from there it goes straight into the back of the xbox, correct?

There is a pci adapter in your laptop?
National Semiconductor Corp. DP83815/816 10/100 MacPhyter PCI Adapter

anyway, you said when you boot from an older evox the network works without changing anything?  How do you boot your older evox with the same evox.ini? Just curious as to the steps you take, maybe something will reveal itself.

hi,

not realy pci adaptor, is onboard integrated lan chip, laptop is HP Compaq nx9010,
about booting from older dash, I leaved in xbox hdd evox 18458 beta renamed to olddash.xbe and ini file it uses is "menu.ini" so no conflict booting,
anyway I copy evox.ini to menu.ini and dashboard only reads used fields, (ex: network section) so any text can be dropped on that ini file without give problems.

I added a shorcut in dash menu to call 18458 xbe, working fine, also if I boot 18458 beta from cdrw have same efect, 100% working
