the xbox doesnt have its own battery, so if the xbox is totaly unplugged or switched off at the socket, it tends to loose the time.
As for losing on reboot that is very odd.
Do you use an sntp server in evox? |
It is very odd because from just rebooting Ive never had that problem.
I think it has to do with the bios... I dont use smtp...
is the m7 any good?
sounds unlikely to be the bios, does the problem happen if you set it, play an orig game with chip off, then switch off and play another then off and check clock.
if it still happens then it'll be the box itself.
And i said sntp
sntp = time server
smtp = email server
oh sorry... I am not sure what sntp is... but I dont think I use it... the xbox isnt hooked up to the internet at all
k... I tested it without turning the chip on... and playing games, music, and etc for a while...then I powered down... clock was fine...everything was right..then I played a music cd for about 20 minutes... powered down for about 5-10mins, and when I powered on, clock and date were still correct... suggestions?
I have a similar problem my xbox is plugged in all the time and the time is set to a weird date (2089). I'm trying to get xbwatch to work but have yet to get it to connect to a time server. anyone have a good ip for xbwatch?
Also when I go into the MS dash and try to get to my clokc it doesn't load I jsut get a weird moving background thing.
I've been searching for a few days to no avail.
ok does anyone have an ip for the
SNTP_Server because the one that came with my evox dash isn't working or I have something else not right either way the time date is 8907
SNTP Server: 216.244.192.3
Try that
8907 is when the clock isnt set, because evox boots instead of xboxdash it doesnt force you to fix this, you may find things such as gta and mameox will not run
the clock resetting is because u unplugged the xbox or because of the bios, either reflash the bios with m7 or 4981 and it will be fine. If it is the same date all the time and not the bug it is likely to be that it is going back to the 1st available date on the firmware as the dreamcast used to go to 11/11/98 if the memory card lost the battery and was switched off too long
Every time I try to go to my clock in the MS dashboard I see the background but no way to set the clock any ideas on that?
the clock isn't going back. I can't set it. when I got to set it the background shows up but there is not clock to set.

Why? read the nfo's man, the xecuter bios mucks with the time if its not set. And its very clear that when I use one, I have the problem, I use the other I don't. Seems like an easy fix to me.
I tried several differant Bios and none of tem work. I don'tthink its the bios I think my MS dash is messed up. anyone else having the problem where you go into the dash and the clock setting tool won't load? or is it just me?
I also tried several IP's for the watch program and evox but nothing doing there either.
Last problem I'm having and its kicking my butt.

If you need this file look in the usual places.
Hi guys. I read up on the clock reset bug, but I don't think this is my problem because the Xbox doesn't pick some weird date like 2089.
It always resets to the same date, July something 2003. The time is random I believe but I have never caught the problem as soon as it happens. It occurs randomly, not when I unplug it or anything. I just turn on the Xbox and boom, weird date/time.
I'm using the latest X2 BIOS (ends in .67) and the EvoX from Gouki's tutorial. (Sorry I can't give specific version numbers, I'm at work right now :P )
This is one of the most vexing problems. The same thing happens to me. I've tried changing to a different bios but the date continues to go whacko and it's not just after the Xbox is turned off for a long time.
Any good solutions?
Gents,
I was having the same problem with all of the latest versions of EvoX and X2 Bioses. After trying a few things I deleted the XBWatch program (from an early version of Slayer's) and it's save (from the MS Dash). Since then my clock has been perfect. Might be worth a try...
i got the same problem and i don't have XBWatch on my xbox
The bios that was on my old chip when I got it made the clock go crazy...
I do not know wich bios it was, but it was not Xecuter atleast, cause boot up said "MS".
Try flashing the chip with Xecuter2 4979.
