I would actually combine these threads, since they seem like similar issues...
FTP Issue
-
yet he had it to work and our ip numbers are off by 1 digit and still in correct proportions, but hell i will try it anyways and i will come back in here to post my n00bie complaints til i find the correct answers
-
like i thought no this DID NOT work also I am not n00b that goes around asking the same question over and over that tons of people have already ask meaning yea i had already read that thread before making this one also I do check the pages and use the search in the message and I even google for my answer and as a result making this thread was my last resort. After being inside of the ps2 community for a long time I am surprised by the lack of information or i guess detailed info about this kinda stuff. I know this is just makin people mad, but it is the truth. Any detail information about how and what to and not to setup for the winxp network(crossover cable) with the xbox that is not in a tutorial here at xbox-scene(including the one under the sig) would be greatly appreciated.

Read the tutorial in my sig. And if you still have problems post the network section of the evox.ini you are booting from and also post an ipconfig /all from your computer.

ok i just found my motherboards instruction manuel the manufacturer's site sucks can't hardly navigate it lil on find a motherboard they made over 6 months ago, anyways I have an onboard 3com ethernet port so as soon as i get the drivers off the net i'll post the results

[Network]
SetupNetwork = Yes
StaticIP = Yes
Ip = 192.168.0.3
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway = 192.168.0.1
DNS1 = 0.0.0.0
DNS2 = 0.0.0.0
SetupDelay = 0
SkipIfNoLink = No
Computer
IP = 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask= 255.255.255.0
Well i did get the 3com drivers loaded in ok and it says i have sent some bytes of information out to my xbox but I am not recieving anything but if I disconnect the crossover cable it recognizes the network is gone and disconnects and everytime I try and ftp to it, it times out?
-
ok I have noticed that if I feel in the gateway on my pc feild it will say it times out wiht the ip number of 198.168.0.1 yet if I leave it blank like some suggest I get an error saying there is no route to the host? Will someone please help me
-
the last post is incorrect that is only a problem I experienced when I was messing around with bridging the connection to another one
-
lol ok found out what was going on, basicly I fixed one mistake only to replace it with another.
1. I thought this was strange from the beginning cuz i knew this is commonly referred to as firewire 1394 was being networked as a lan with the xbox for the ethernet obviously this does not work
2. I figured out I was missing the correct driver for my intergrated ethernet adapter
3. found it, 3com for nforce2
4. I re-typed the ip numbers in and mistakenly typed 192.168.0.2 as 198*.168.0.1 but everything is fixed now thanx for all the help I can finally live my life again!!
