| i tried the cable modem wire and put that side in the xbox and the other side in the pc. and it didnt work so i guess it isnt a crossover cable... |
Correct... that wire is NOT a cross over... read this hear... it will tell you how to ftp to your xbox...
http://dwl.xbox-scen...ng_the_xbox.pdfBUT, if you don't want to do that, go to windows, make up a new evox.ini, save it, turn it into an xiso, burn it, put it in your dvd drive and then use a file copying utility like boxplorer and just overwrite the one on your c: drive. This option may be better for you seeing as your seem to be struggling getting your computer to connect to your xbox.

| Catagory 5 ethernet cable does the trick. |
Does the trick for what? You can't use a straight through cable to go from xbox to pc, you need a cross over cable.
Yep, you need a crossover cable if you connect directly between an xbox and a PC. If you on the other hand has a hub or switch between, then you need to use straight through cables.
But getting the built-in FTPto work isn't just pluggin in the cable, you also need to edit your settings in dash(evox.ini). Settings like "IP", "gateway", "use static ip yes/no" and others must be set correct to correspond to your sitation and hardware. Look at the tutorials here on xbox-scene..

where do i get xiso and how do i use this program to make the right settings for xbox burning? and in boxplorer how would i access the dvd-rom drive? and then would i just replace the file by copying from cd and pasting into c drive?
and how would i go about editing the ini to make a section for trainers and for emulators?
