Title: Fyi :: Ftp Trouble
Post by: Custom GT on January 08, 2004, 06:16:00 PM
I read every post on every forum and webpage.

I could not get my computer and xbox to ftp. It would just keep timing out in FlashFXP.

I seen a few posts in this forum of people having the same trouble as me.

When you burn the EvolutionX xiso to a cdrw and evolutionX loads up in your xbox and you try to change the setting to YES under static IP, etc etc.....you changing anything wont do jack for you.

You got to make the evox.ini file exactly how it needs to be then rebun an xiso of evolutionx and put it back in the xbox and it will work.

Not sure if that made sense to anyone, but just figured Id post that if someone did the same thing i did.....

Well yeah, you're not going to be able to to change the setting while it's running from a cd-rom (read only memory)

First as long you did not FTP the EvolutionX files to your XBOX- you wont be able to edit any setting. Read the tutorials on how to FTP evox.

Choose which method you want to FTP - read about Evox networking.

Second - check all the steps carefully before you messup the dashboards

Third - if you choose by using crossover cable - check it is really a crossover cable

Fourth - Get somebody to help you if you really still having problems

uh.....it all worked when i posted this topic, I was just giving this information to anyone who needed it.

None of the tutorials specifically said you cannot change the settings if you are running the cd off the dvd-drive. I should have known this in the first place, but I didnt.
