xbox v1.3
Xecuter 2.2 lite
120 GB unlocked HD
Evolution M7 bios
computer spec;
iMac G4 running panther 10.3.1 also bootable from previous system - Jaguar 10.2.6
The problem I got is I am unable to transfer files once I have connected to the XBOX through FTP (Transmit + Fetch). Everything used to work fine before and I thought I would be a Panther issue, so I put my old system back on (10.2.6). also, I have had a new xecuter 2.2 lite chip inside as I badly flashed my old one.
Using Fetch and Transmit I can connect and see all the files and folders in the xbox, but as soon as I try and move or copy files to my local HD I get the following messages;
Error -130
Error -124
Server response: mdtm is not implemented
Server response: "/C/" is current directory
In addition to this, I can see a 'H' volume that wasn't there before.
Any suggestions guys, desperately need to get the connection back.

unchecked PSV and I cant even connect know let alone see the contents of my HD.
Is anyone else using Panther to connect to the xbox? if so, how are you doing it?

are are you using evolutionX? if so, what version?
if it´s the last version 3921, than you finally found out that there´s a big ftp bug that seem just to affect mac-users. its all the way you discribed your error messages.
downgrade your dashboard to 3752 and you should be fine again!

iMac settings;
System Preferences -> Network;

Configure IPv4: Using DCHP with manual address
IP Address: 192.168.0.1
Everything else blank and havent touched the configure IPv6 button
[PPPoE]
Everything blank and unchecked checkboxes
[AppleTalk]
Blank and unchecked checkboxes
[Proxies]
No Proxy server configured
PASV unchecked
[Ethernet]
Configure: automatically
System Preferences -> Sharing
[services]
FTP Acess On
[Firewall]
Firewall Off
[Internet]
Internet sharing ON sharing built in ethernet connection
So, with all these setting, I use transmit to the xbox on IP 192.168.0.2 which it then connects and I can see all the volumes on the xbox HD, I can even navigate without error, but as soon as I try to transmit a file to my mac I get;
Could not download item
server said:
Requested action not taken. /C/evox.ini/
What is it saying? I wish it could speak in laymans terms.
Hi2Hello - I've even booted up off my old evox disc and I can do it, still get the same messages and tried flashing with different bios's. But you are right, I am using the new evox 3921.

I done a new evox boot cd (Using an older version of Evox) on a CD-RW and modified the setting in evox.ini so it has a static IP. and it has worked.
I think like Hi2Hello said, it's a mac and 8921 thing. Any mac users having similar problems, use and older version of Evox.

IT IS!!!
tested it by myself and came to the same problems. only could solve them by installing an older version of evox.
now i have 2 versions of evox on different partitions of my xbox and the ftp-failure can be seen evertime i m running 8921.
earlier version works fine
furthermore its always a very good idea to use a static IP when connecting XBOX and MAC

so everytime i m going to boot in 4921 but when i d like to FTP i just switch to the evox installed on :
here s how i dit it:
evox on c: should be clear...
evox on f: - just ftp the evox folder to a folder called "dashboards" on your f: drive (if its not there, create one). now copy an evox.ini that fits your needs also into that folder.
edit your evox.ini on c: so that you ll be able to launch the f:evox (like you would do when launching for example XBMP)
easy stuff

Did you get this to work? And if so, could you post some clear(er) instructions? Thanks!
I haven't even taken my new XBox out of its box yet, let alone installed the mod chip or Evox. I was going to use SlaYer's latest installer to flash, but maybe it's better to manually load the older version of Evox with good FTP support first, then install my hard drive upgrade, then create a copy of that evox.ini file on the f: drive...and THEN I could do the install on the c: drive using SlaYer's install? That would give me the option to switch to that other evox.ini for FTP and still have the latest version on the c: drive, right? Does this make any sense?

first i need to admit that if u havent even unpacked your box you should not ask questions that do not may concern you. unpack your box, try it and if you should have problems than come back and ask again.
btw:
1) install an old evox manually (an older slayer cd should work too)
2) backup evox folder and evox.ini (to your mac)
3) copy evox folder and evox.ini to f: (via ftp)
4) run harddisk update for c: (with the new slayer disc, leave f: untouched!)
5) edit evox.ini on c: so that evox on f: could be loadedif needed
if u do it like you wrote, you propably wont have the chance to edit your evox.ini because how could you ftp after an update to the new evox version that causes the problems?!
hope that helped but even more i hope that you wont face all those evox-mac troubles after you unpacked your xbox. enjoy it!

I *do* have the XBox unpacked now. And it's disassembled waiting to be modded. Since I didn't need to have the XBox open to start creating the CDRWs I need to install software, I thought it wouldn't hurt to get as much good information as I could so I didn't have to do everything twice or three times. I apologize for jumping the gun.
I have an Evox.iso made now with 3752 on it. I've edited the Evox.ini in that iso for a static IP. I'll look up detailed instructions on editing it further so I can have the option of running another copy of the ini from F:
