Title: Xbox Live Updated My Evox Dash!, Need Help

My buddy accidentally updated with xbox live with Rainbow Six 3 game. When u sign in, it updated the dash and installed the xbox live feature which was not there in the first place. It just goes to the M$ dash like a original xbox. I have all my apps in the memory though. I have a TSOP flash with evox d6ef bios running. I have a slayers disc and it boots up fine. what do i do from here though. I need a step by step instuction on what to ftp and delete or replace? HELP please. thanks everyone.

my xbox was updated with the xbox live feature and i didn't have any problems with it booting to the MS dashboard. try reinstalling evox.

i ftped over a evoxdash.xbe file from slayers. then i coudn't get to the ms dash. error 21

did you actually transfer evoxdash.xbe, or default.xbe...??? It shouldn't matter if live updates the dash, aslong as your bios doesn't need the dash named as xboxdash, you should be ok...All late bioses have this they look for evox,nexgen etc, and xboxdash, so I'm not sure why you have troubles...
Ohh and make sure you ftp an evox ini file aswell..

my evox.ini file was already there. I have a xboxdash.xbe and a xboxold_dash.xbe. i have folders called xboxdashdata and xodash which are related to the xbox live. I didn't have xbox live on this machine. I can get to evox dash right now, but when i hit ms dashboard on the menu, it gives me a error 21. I heard slayers has an option of restoring your C:

check your evox ini and see what is says for xboxdash MSDashBoard = "c:xboxdash.xbe"
Can you actually boot the msdash if your mod is off? What are the file sizes of your so called xboxdash and xboxold_dash

Before i ftped the evoxdash.xbe over, it would boot up straight to the ms dash. my evox ini says msdashboard C: xboxold_dash.xbe.

Thats ya problem its pointing to the old dash before live, those files have been moved... chnage it to xboxdash.xbe

change the ini file to xboxdash.xbe? or change the name of the xbe?
update: I went back in and ftped over to the box, and changed the ini file to C:xboxdash.xbe instead of C:xboxdash_old.xbe and i get no error just goes right back to evox when i select ms dashboard now.

Change the evox ini file to xboxdash... otherwise you original bios won't find the dash...

i should be able to use the slayers install to restore the C: right?
update: i changed the xboxdash_old.xbe to xboxdash.xbe and it works both with evox and ms dash.
One problem. since i had to ftp a evoxdash.xbe over from the slayers disc, in my settings in the evox menu, i get a dashboard version of 3921, which i think i have 3752. I went to and got a evolution x dash 3752 from usual places and put that evoxdash.xbe on there and it worked also and said i have 3752 dash version. when i put slayers in, it says i have 3752. how could i find out the right version.

ok, let me ask this. I am pretty sure evox 3752 dash was originally on there. well after the xbox live update, there was no evoxdash.xbe there in the C:, well i just ftped one over from slayers and it worked fine. i got it. i just updated my evox with the slayers install disc to 3921 and restored my C with the disc also. no biggy. i edited the ini file to my liking for the new dash. thanks.
