Title: X-DISK 0.92
Post by: firefucker on October 02, 2003, 06:45:00 AM
New version of X-DISK 0.92 is OUT!

Apps:
-mediaplayers: XBMP 2.4 CVS, YAMP, XBMC
-dashboards: evox3921,MxM+nice Skin,Avalaunch 0.48, Nexgen (default dash switchable with InstallerDisk without losing ur settings, biosflashing or anything)
-Emulators: like 0.91, updated and some more (15 different Emus smile.gif)
-Apps for Online gaming
-Filemanagers
-BackupToolZ
-much more...

Features:
-Format, restore, install
-dashboard-switching, incl. saving of setting
-G-Drive support: format-option, patched xbe's, G-Bios
- install of dashes only
-install configured dashboard of your choice with apps
-clean install of evox
-'All-in-One' Option like Slayer's ' Rebuild'
-option to install different evox.inis (different menus)

If you want to take a look on the 0.92-Installer, here's how to do it:
Copy the entire X-DISK 0.91 to a folder on your harddrive

###OUTDATED! PREVIEW IS AVAILABLE!!!!!!!'####

The menutructure changes a bit:
-go to /SYSTEM
-move everything in ALL one folder up
-delete empty ALL-Folder
-delete LANGUAGE
-delete RETAIL
-unpack misc.rar here

-create a new folder /SYSTEM/f/Apps/Mediaplayer
move /SYSTEM/f/Apps/xbmp to /SYSTEM/f/Apps/Mediaplayer
move /SYSTEM/f/Apps/yamp061 /SYSTEM/f/Apps/Mediaplayer
(u can add here xbmc...)

-rename the dashes in /SYSTEM/f/Apps/Dashes to:
avalaunch & rename default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe
mxm & rename default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe
nexgen & rename default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe
-unpack Dashes.rar here and out the  new folders in Dashes should be;
evox3921
copy  /System/f/Apps/Dashes/evox3921/evoxdash.xbe  to /default.xbe
create a new folder backup in dashes

-get the latest evox.ini for the installer by PM
and put it in /
-Burn
-Try it smile.gif
It's work in progress, don't expect everything to work ..

-If u just want to take a look at the installer get the evox.ini and ftp it to your box-but don't forget to save your old evox.ini first!

I'm interested in helping out with this in any way I can.  I can try to write some dash config files etc., whatever is needed.

And just a thought...

MXM now has batch scripting in it.  You can write many copy utils/etc. through that, as an added feature.  You can also use this to manipulate X2_IGR, etc.  The scripting language is much more advanced than Evox's, so it may be a wise choice to use that to actually install the app.

Yes. I read about it. For sure 0.93 will be based on MxM. EvoX is jsut to stupid ffor a real uber-installer.
If u want to halp me U can translate a evox.ini to mxm-config. or if u a are hard coder, translate the installer.ini to MxM  smile.gif

Sorry server problems. I thought I did not send it.

Firefucker,

Should the above line be edited as:

copy default.xbe /System/f/Apps/Dashes/evox3921/evoxdash.xbe

It seems appropriate.

Please advise.

All there behind is that the disk should boot up with evox3921. the default.xbe on 0.91 is evox3752.
forget the copy-action, I updated the rar...

Yes, it works pretty nice. there are only small nasty issues:
sometimes you can't overwrite the evox.ini. I had this after format C:->install evox only->install german.ini. If this happens start xcommander from livemenu and delete it manually. If this bug occures, it only happens once.

With 0.92 U will get
-almost 200 skins 4 evox
-4 dashboards, very well configured (MxM is a dream)
-15 emulators
-toolz for G:
-20 biosfiles
-latest mediaplayers (just a few days old cvs-versions)
-etc.....
This is the last evox-based installer disk from me, (EvoX is simply to stupid to code a really smart installer), the next version is based on MxM and will be far more advanced.

If U want to spread the X-DISK somehow, U can PM me. If U just want to get it, U'll have to wait 'til Friday evening 8:00 PM MET to get it from me. Infos will be posted here.

I would say it's bug-free, but there are to many apps and emus and stuff on it, impossible to check them all smile.gif

Do u want to have several .torrents going around in different trackers or just prefer we all try an seed and leech from one main .torrent for the 1st cpl days until we reach a nice size pool of seeders?  We could upload the .torrent in other BT forums where many get files from, and im not just referring to sites like Suprnova.org referring to sites Digital Update BT forums Where a person can begin a thread by uploading a .torrent files and others share from that.

biggrin.gif woohoo been away for a few and look what happens,a new toy to play with....i think u do great work with ur installers and "fast" with updates and such,we at filetopia would luv to host this for ya as irc is a pain for many, bit torrent is the same and apple juice was a mystery....were as p2p is just soooo sweet, newayz firefucker if u like we can host it there for ya aswell,we passed the slayer 2 and 2.1 as many would prolly remember and it kicked ass(as does ur installers) so give me a shout if ya want and i will up it to some operators on filetopia and we can help stem the tide, nething to stick it to bill's side a little more tongue.gif keep up the great work and look forward to using another fine release frm firefucker beerchug.gif   wink.gif

i am on filetopia now if ppls r tryin to still get x-disk 0.91+Fix Pack((XBOX-INSTALLER)x-disk091+FixPack.rar, or ne of the installers,i got a couple) so goto filetopia.info and download v2.10(u need v2.10d to be able to reach us,3.10 is on a diff server) and after u install it follow the wizard and pop in a few things to share(dun be scabs, were not)and click on the CH list and come to Badbassas Movie Place(ppls should remember us frm the slayer installers) and ask away for the disk,we be glad to share this piece of magic around as much as poss......so what r ya waitin for, come get it cool.gif

Can you make the game launch from the menu without making the xbox reboot? I know that if you turn on auto run games, that it will run them from the d drive, but I sometimes leave the game that I was playing last in the xbox I editited the ini and changed the first line to not include reset, but it stil reset can you tell me how to just launch teh game without it resetting? and without auto run on? thnx

evox.ini is rewritten for evox 3921, that means, launching DVD now works without reset, because there is the new ID_LAUNCH_DVD option.
avalaunch &  mxm don't have any problems
for nexgen I added a Menuitem to start dvd directly.

I dunno. last time we used suprnova and a lot of people couldn't connect.
I think we will start with mardanpet's tracker. he set up a standalone tracker for x-disk smile.gif

My bad! I take the blame for the 1st 8 hours of seeding cause when I left it seeding too low at 5kbs so I got home and fixed it and was uploading over 30kbs and there where over 50 seeders.

But for the peeps who had problems with the tracker all I say is: Leave ur windows open and forget about the errors it displays. The usually fix themselves specially if when u got the file u are aware that there are enough seeders or "distributed files".
As far as Suprnova it right now the most stable BT site cause of it mirror system it uses. Just keep hitting F5 and u will hard refresh into the mirrors, and since they usually have over 15 then it can evade ddos attacks and other garbage from some jealous overpeer group. And suprnova has some decent trackers that can handle some pretty big amount of seeders and leechers.
When I get the file can I post it on suprnova and continue to seed ur torrent?

Post by: firefucker on October 20, 2003, 06:42:00 AM
the switchfunction is crap, cause evox is to stupid to force a overwrite of existing files:
u can fix this by:
-ftp to box, chmod 777 to evoxdash.xbe
or:
-manually delete C:evoxdash.xbe in live-menu, and switch
or: (best way)
download the switchdisk based on MxM (with MxM the shite works, cause U got chmod and delete-commands!) from xboxtoolz - take a look @ my footer, its a german site and u have to create an account first, the link is here!

If u got probs, check in @ #x-disk

Hey...I have a question about your installer. I configured my box with the old evox and some apps. Im not worried about losing the apps but i am worried about losing my backed up games. Is there an option thats like an update that will allow me to just update without losing my games. Or do I have to re backup games.

if u do a format retail disk F. will not be touched. Normally F:Hddloader shouldn't be overwriteen, but to be on the safe side:
->ftp 2 ur box & rename F:hddloader to f.mygames or something
->do a install dash + apps
->ftp 2 ur box: copy the homebrewgames (if u want) to ur PC),
->delete F:HDDLoader
-> rename F:mygames to F:Hddloader
->copy back the homebrew games

got it?

Hey,all i just finished configuring my box w/ x-disk and it works excellent. Couldnt ask for a better tool. With many more options. I had an existing box with evox and games installed i jsut chose update evox and apps choice and presto...none of my settings were altered. I do have one last question. If i choose to install the other dashes and the apps that go along with them, is all i have to do is set the default dash to boot and it boots to the specified one? If so...will it change my settings...will i still be able to get on the regular ms dashboard...will it affect evox?

I had something like that in Nero 6, I just ignored it, set it to Disc-at-once and ticked Finalize and burned.

I burned it again on a DVD+RW this time and it works perfect.

Great job FF!
In my opinion, i think that Xavier came out with a cool idea by using xselect 0.6 and being able to install all dash boards. But they didnt include the latest and most expansive set of bins like gdisk, nor as many skins yada yada yada. But i do like the idea of 4 dashes at the same time. I know it takes a couple of mins for peeps to d, but what do you think about the feature? Oh..what about launch other dashes as an option in evox?  Can't wait until 0.93 sounds impressive. Thanks ff! biggrin.gif

This will all be included in 0.93. I have a working switcher based on MxM already on my HD smile.gif
The TeamXavier Installer is nice, but I don't like the idea of reflashing the bios every time u wanna change the default Dashboard, there is a much easier solution, but u have to go away from evox for that....
The other prob is to build an installer that doesnt install all the crap if ju just want evox and nothing else. TX solved it with coding a lot of different settingfiles, but: there is also a much easier solution...

in beta-stage: 0.93
actual release is x-disk 0.92
last release with e-drive support: 0.91
First beta was 0.90

X-Disk 0.96 SE (SwitchEdition) is only a addon to x-disk 0.92. It can set your default dashboard. iF the option switch dashboard in x-disk 0.92 workes for u, u don't need 0.96SE

I used the ini that came with the installer, and the first line is "launch dvd" clicking this resets my xbox and the game doesn't boot. It only boots when I either have a game in the drive already(with auto launch enabled) or when I put a game in the tray and close it(with auto launch enabled). either way, my xbox reboots/resets when I click on this, is there a way to fix it?

You don't have to extract it.  Just burn it with Nero.

I used winrar to extract it.  Or if you burned it you can access the dvd while it's in the xbox via FTP and copy it to your HDD.

I installed EvoX.  You can see and change your IP in system settings.  Try winrar to extract.

Instructions for Nero 6:
Open Nero Burning ROM.
Close the wizard, if it appears.
Go to Recorder > Burn Image...
Pick your image, click Open
Insert a blank disc depending on your
Click Burn

If you're using anything below Nero 6, I think the Burn image option is in the File menu.
