Hi Guys,
I've used Slayer's Installer a lot, but the Apps and Stuff on it are to old. I' had to put Slayer in my DVD, install, and then update everything via FTP (*arg*)
So I decided to do an update to Slayers Installer, which is the best All-in-one-disk I've ever seen!
I call this thingy X-DISK 0.91, here's the changelog:

upgrade? there's only the menu-entry is called update/install, I've only seen a simple copy-command in the evox.ini(!): that means:
upgrade works the same it worked with slayers disk. (btw: a full backup of ur harddrive is never a bad idea)

I am working on the first 'real' release now.
Things to fix for x-disk 0.91 and bugs known so far:
-mame 0.74 doesnt work. I'll switch back to 0.72
-duke3d doesnt work: forget to unrar it (how lame!)
-MXM will added
-the bios file are numbered quite lame and the description is to long (just a bit of cosmetic)
-LBA48 bios and EvoX M7 will be added
-switch celsius back to fahrenheit (even more cosmetic)
Post ur suggestions here...
FTP is up in 2 hours. this will be the last time I'll distribute the 0.90 testrelease (about 100 times downloaded so far).
With ur help, u can expect the fixed version in a few days!!!

U can try to install the stuff a second time.

Btw, it's just an idea at the moment.
But: if u look at it precisely. u will c that the hole cd is breaking the law. Every app compiled with XDK isnt allowed to be spread without permisson of M$. We are all moving in a grey zone...Or think about the bios files......

Lite version....
x-disk 0.90 had about 350MB. I won't release 1, because there are some already, eg the plain evox installer disk or slayer...maybe someone of you is able to make a very small one, just a toolkit without installer , but thats very close to the evox-disk...

the installer options are now:
rebuid:format +M$ dash
format, just format
install apps - evox and/or apps with xbmp
this gives U more possibilitys and saves time:
so:

-u've got a plain new HD and want just M$ dash, maybe u want dual boot (modchip with switch) and setup the dash and apps yourself:
chose: rebuild
-u've got a HD with M$dash and want evox and apps
chose install evox,apps,xbmp
-u've got a HD with M$dash and want just evox no apps: (setup the apps yourself:
chose install evox)
- u have a new HD, dont want the M$-dash but evox and no apps:
chose format and then install evo
-and many many more........
.......
This gives u more flexibility and saves time.
Another reason I did this is because I'm planing to make alternative dashes installable.

MXM is also cool, but takes ages to load (it's beta, that'll change).
Avalaunch is also eyecandy, but crashed several times (maybe because of errors in the ini while testing)
and the Chihirox .... ....came out sunday. just included for fun, way to buggy to use.
But the best working and most stable is good ol' EvolutionX.
And S*** APPENS, u are right, on large disk install theres an typing error in the ini, but that shouldnt be to hard to fix for U:
look in evox.ini for :

thx! aaron had also the probs with the pics, but I installed and tested them about a dozen times on different boxes (PAL, but that shouldnt matter) and no prob. Dunno maybe picky DVDRom or so. It isn't really a big prob, just a few kb of wasted download
(I refused just to remove T3 because Kristina Lokken is much to sexy to delete)
I wouldn't reinstall, just delete it or try this:
change in c:SkinTerminator_3skin.ini:
Terminator 3
to
Terminator_3
(just use replace in wordpad or so)
That might fix it. If not, there are 70 more skins to choose from

me too,i noticed the skins b4 when i was checkin out the disk and lookin for M$ dash,as for dvd2xbox i too have the lockup on the dvd2xbox splash screen(maybe an IGR thing??? dun no)the emu's all loaded up with out a hich(didnt test with roms just loaded the emu's)apart frm the dvd2xbox lockup,the M$ dash missin and the 3 skins not showin(an easy fix)the installer works great,so far so good,well done once again

as for the splintercell 2 skin,no matter what way i set it up in the skin.ini it alwayz showed me the original skin,no matter what i named it,it alwayz ended up showin the original skin and not the splinter2 pic,no biggy i deleted it now newayz,hope this helps a few out

u can chose rebuild retail disk, this will format all drives, but not F: and install MSdash
then you should rename some folders on F: and do install evox+apps on large disk.
or do it without formating, but don't forget to rename the Folders on F: (if they exist)
The Folder that should be renamed on F: because they will be overwritten are:
F:apps
F:Video
F:Music
F:Pictures
F:HDDLoader
rename to something like F:HDDLoaderOLD or so...it doesnt really matter...

I compared the sizes of all the dvd2xbox files that came with the X-DISK with a 0.4.5 dvd2xbox that I had dl b4. Every file where exactly the same size except for the XML file. By the time I overwrote the new file to test and it worked, that I never got a chance to look at the difference I was just glad it worked:) Excellent program might I'd add! Many more options than px hdd loader.

I'm doing what I can, and thats FTP for a while and applejuice. maybe someone of you could reshare it. coccamocca already had about 8000 hits on it ftp, and mine is also burning down for 11 hours every day. I had already about 100 full DLs of X-disk0.91.
So: plz reshare it and make availaible for the rest of u!

when its read then its not installed, something went wrong. try reinstall?
the flashing light in XBMP is a new feature in v2.4. i find it bit annoying....

How do I utilize a file in torrent format, I went there couldnt find the X disk but did find the torrents. I also was how to download them but affter I download them then what

Firefucker made the decision based on popular opinion to remove the emulators from the installer to cut down the size of it. Just download it, use a program such as exiso and you can extract all the files. You can then add in the emulators and any other programs you want and remake the iso and burn it.

If you used the HD in a PC I think you have to create a empty partition-table @ first.

Your a "gentleman and a scholar" for being able to explore further and then to give credit, and thats the type of attitude that is what seperates the men from the boys. All of us making a effort to share this file are in a win win situation cause p2p programs get exposure. I for one never new about applejuice. Nice little program thought it's in somewhere between alpha and beta, certainly its one worth exploring.
-Yeah the suprnova search-only site does go down its on only one server. And plus its a new add on feature to the main website. -With BT u will notice suprnova.org is the most stable of the BT sites cause they use over 15 mirrors for their site. However u will often get a "page cannot be displayed" Just press the F5 key (hard refresh) and will get another mirror. -When dowloading that little torrent file right click and "save target as" so it saves the torrent for seeding later if necessary. Don't be fooled when u do get a suprnova mirror that appears ok but gives an error when trying to dl torrent. Just F5 again. You need to download a bit torrent client in order to download the file. When it's finished, it will show up as a regular .rar file that you can unpack. |
