QUOTE
I have a matrix modchip, evox d6 eject fix bios, xbox v 1.1.
Sorry about that--I did'nt know that it actually posted..but the problem is -- When I try to watch dvds or even load xbmp, it goes to the green Evolution X logo then back to the dashboard. Here is an example of my evox.ini:
[Misc]
AutoLaunchGames = Yes AutoLaunchDVD = No DVDPlayer = "f:dvdx2default.xbe" AutoLaunchAudio = No #AudioPlayer = "c:msxboxdash.xbe" MSDashBoard = "c:msxboxdash.xbe" UseFDrive = Yes SkinName = Batman IGR = Yes
LogFile = "f:test.log" Info "Install 4034 Dashboard" Warning "This will format all drives" Warning "Install msdash 4034" Warning "Flash BIOS to Evox 2.4" Progress "Now Installing 4034 Dashboard" # # This will format alle drives ,copy the dashboard c: and flash the bios # ConfigSector "dash4034config.bin" Format c: Format e: #Format f: Format x: Format y: Format z: copy "dash4034c" "c:" # the flashbios will force a "power off" after the bios is flashed flashbios "biosevox V2.4.bin"
[Action_11]
[Action_12]
[Telnet]
Enable = Yes
Now, I'm not sure what to do as my dvdx2 is pointed to "f:dvdx2default.xbe", but I have'nt even formatted the f: drive yet, also I tried to change it to the e: drive and copy the dvdx2 folder there and still no go also the same problem exists with xbmp. My Mame and xboxcopy work fine but when it comes to the media player and dvdx2 its goes back to the dashboard. I checked the forum to see if similar problems but nothing useful so far. Any help would still be greatly appreciated.

You set it to the actual path of your app.... Where do you keep DVDX2?

When I go to the f:drive its empty and I can't copy anything to it so do I have to format it? The dvdx2 folder is in the e drive and it has the media,fonts,textures and the default.xbe. Do I have to rename the default.xbe? Also in my C drive there is a file called dvd.xip does that mean anything?

Once again..............you change the path to point to where the app actually is.

I changed the path my evox looks like this now:
[Misc]
AutoLaunchGames = Yes AutoLaunchDVD = No DVDPlayer = "e:dvdx2default.xbe" AutoLaunchAudio = No #AudioPlayer = "c:msxboxdash.xbe" MSDashBoard = "c:msxboxdash.xbe" UseFDrive = Yes SkinName = Batman IGR = No
The green evox logo comes up, the screen goes black and flickers like its about to start but then it goes back to the dashboard. I don't what else to do, its not a folder in a folder the order is like this dvdx2 folder, media,textures,fonts folders and the default.xbe-am I missing some files or something?can something be corrupted?

Wouldn't the line be something like.... DVDPlayer = "e:dvdx2default.xbe"
unless you copied the dvdx2 into the root directory of e and then renamed the "default.xbe" to "dvdx2default.xbe".

Actually, it does'nt matter what you name the default.xbe to--you can call it dvdx2.xbe if you want. But either way I'm still having problems getting the dvd to boot even when I have already changed the path. Did anybody else have these kind of problems?

maybe it does matter to what you rename your default.xbe. how about leaving it default.xbe for now.
make a folder called DVD and put in in the APPS folder. the APPS folder is directly in the E: drive.
now, in said DVD folder, put
default.xbe and
MEDIA folder in there.
those are the only two things you should see in when you open your DVD folder.
FONTS folder
TEXTURES folder
gamepad.xpr
padding.bin and
Resources.xpr
go into the MEDIA folder.
change your evox.ini to
DVDPlayer = "e:*apps*dvd*default.xbe"
(where * are the slashes)
if THAT don't work, you got a bad dump

I'm having that exact problem too... what's a bad dump mean? (bad version or file?)

FIXED THE PROBLEM!!! you need to create those folders and put the items in the correct directories... Thanks, Koitsu... hey, can you (or anybody) please post the correct folder setup for the XBMP 2.4? Thanks a million!

Ok, i did more research and finally found my answer on a tiny little post somewhere buried in internet-land... the problem is when you extract the zipped files... you don't want to use "power archiver" to extract the files nor do you want to drag and drop like i was doing... you want to extract normally to a target folder and thus the correct directory folders will stay in tact... after extracting properly i found that this is what i was screwing up all along... it is possible that you were just doing the same thing... hope this helps!

yeah, what he said. extract, extract, extract. and just to be safe, don't use winzip for .rar files. things like that make a difference sometimes.

It finally worked. Thanks--you were right, its the extraction part of it. Still working on xbmp24...Thanks again everybody!!
