---yes im havin probs

My network is setup by comp 2 ethernet, ethernet 2  router, router 2 xbox.

"set up to do DHCP so that it'll dish out an IP to your XBOX" -----i dont know if it is or not and i dont know how to do that

Some routers have "trusted zones" settings, and if your XBOX isn't in the list then you ain't FTP'ing to it.
----how do i change?

thanx for input

I had this same problem and it was driving me nuts. It turned out I was trying to connect while in the "Settings / Info" screen. Once I tried from the main menu all worked fine.

also play around with the 10/100/full/half duplex settings.

because you have a usb connection for your network card the speed is limited. it will never reach the 100mbps that it says it has. it may if you have a usb2.0 card and network adapter but otherwise i would reccomend buying a router or a second network card. a second network card is much cheaper and will allow upload speeds around 4 or 5 megs/second and downloads of around 8 or 9megs/second.
