Well for a start how did you install Evo-X? And what error number is it giving?

ok heres exacty what happens...i boot up the xbox and it FRAGS then says the xbox needs service and it has a 13 in the upper left...by the way, evox still works fine, i installed it by puttin in the evox disc, backing up the C and E drives to teh computer, then putting in the evox xboxdash.xbe

you just identified the problem yourself.  you need the original dashboard named xboxdash.xbe, and evox named evoxdash.xbe and a bios that supports it.  If evox is named xboxdash.xbe then the xbox will try to boot it with the mod off, and guess what?  evox is unsigned code and won't run.  theres tutorials to help you with this

and make sure your HDD is locked.

sooooo all i need to do is rename xboxdash.xbe to evoxdash.xbe and then put in xboxdash.xbe into the xbox from my backup C files...tell me if im wrong

You should FULLY restore your backup C files. But basically what you said is right, yes.

what bios do you have? it better be a bios that supports the evoxdash.xbe

Well if you dont restore everything back to C then you wont have the M$ dash.

Thing im wondering is, when i first installed the chip and it had cromwell on it, everytime i turned on the xbox it went to the cromwell screen. even if i turned off the chip. that was before i replaced the dash with evox and flashed it with a bios or even did anything at all with the original hard drive. I can get back to the original dash, (green wire frame screen that has music settings and something else) when i click on the option to go back to m$ dash, i just cant turn off the modchip and have it return to the dash on its own....
