Title: Upgrading Evoxdash.xbe
Post by: RinGz on May 10, 2003, 11:13:00 PM
the Current = line just tells you the hash of the BIOS you're currently using.  Don't mess with it-evox will just update it every time with the hash of your current bios...

Can I just replace the evoxdash.xbe via FTP instead of burning it to a cdrw?

Yes, just delete the old evoxdash.xbe via ftp and upload the new ver. You should also update the evox.ini accordingly.

I have yboxdash.xbe on my xbox instead of evoxdash.xbe
Will replacing the yboxdash.xbe with the new evoxdash.xbe work? Maybe I should rename the new evoxdash.xbe to yboxdash.xbe.
I don't see any reference to either in the evox.ini file, so I'm not sure what initiates the loading of the dashboard.

Which bios are you using?

EvoX2.4.bin with the Matrix. I'm trying to upgrade to 4976.02_Blue_Noani.bin and from what I've read so far I think I need to upgade the dash. Is this correct?

Thanks for the reply.

It will work if you rename the evoxdash.xbe to yboxdash.xbe
The bios you're using looks for yboxdash.xbe when booting, if you upgrade to the new x2 4976.02 I believe it will still look for the yboxdash.xbe though it is lower on the x2's bios dash name priority list. I can't remember what the naming priority, but to answer your question everything should work fine if you name evoxdash.xbe to yboxdash.xbe.
