Title: Evox Cd Not Booting
Post by: LepPpeR on April 10, 2003, 06:35:00 PM
if you are making a startup disc, rename the evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe - Run SimpleX and make and Iso.  Burn and enjoy.

Let me know if this solves your problem

I did what you said and it didnt work. This time all I did was put the evox.ini and the evoxdash.xbe(default.xbe) on. sad.gif

Any more input is appreciated.  smile.gif

is your chip working?
try using another iso program e.g xiso i think thats really good!
use nero to burn image, make sure you erase your RW disc first.

hope this helps

umm...use something beside xiso.  get a large file (ex:  pic, game file, or a cluster of misc files) and put them in w/ the default.xbe and evox.ini.  it doesnt matter what the files are, ide recommend some totalling to 50meg or more and then reburn ur iso.  sometimes the disc doesnt like to boot w/ such little spaced used on the disc, that is the purpose of adding these extra files.  GL  biggrin.gif

Dummying the ISO pushed the data toward the outside of the disc where it reads more quickly at constant rotational velocity.  This allows for faster re-reads if it is having trouble reading the media.  If you opt to add in a dummy file, make sure you name it something like 00dummy and place it in the root to ensure it will be in the beginning of the image.

i have a hell of a time with my thmpson drive. Sometimes having to reboot it about 50 times before it will read the disc and sometimes it just plain wont work with certain versions of evox. Try an older version of evox, they tend to work better off of cd-rw for some reason then once you're in put the newest version on the HD

Hmm, gotta disagree. It depends on the brand of media used, and how it was burned. BUT, the media is the bigger part.
