They would be loosing money on every one they sold. And people would buy it without getting a xbox. They will not do this idea. |
well, they could make u like steam ur music to the xbox to transfer to the hard drive thing. they will think of some copy protection if they go with this idea.

and us modders will get past that
true, so true, something new to mod, hack and customize!

yeah i agree. but the average person wont go out and buy one seperate if they did is what i was trying to get across.
If I know Gates, he won't let you put on your own MP3's, but instead make you buy them. Even if he doesn't, apple forever, and my next computer is a iMac G5(or G6 if i don't get a new one fer a while) with a iPod.
I don't think MS is going to go for this idea, since in the long run it is going to be a staggering loss for them. But hey I wouldn't mind buying an ipod lookalike for $100.00
how do you know what it looks like? I mean...just because it is an mp3 player doesn't mean it will just take the ipods design. it might be the best designed one out there, who knows.
I don't see how it would be a loss though, i mean, an xbox memcard that is also an mp3 player? How can that suck?

It's not gonna happen. Plus that image is 100% photoshopped. MS already made a portable media center that cand play movies and music and display images.

In case you didn't notice. That isn't the design for the new Xbox/Hard Drive/MP3 player thing. It's just an image to fit with the article, don't flatter yourself <_<
that $500 ipod cost less than $200 to make.
think about it
look at hd size, now look at how much those harddrives cost (not normal ones)....
rip off? yes i realoize its more than just a hardrive, but the other stuff cant cost more than $100
They can't cost over $60 to produce, including labor and ads. The problem is, the HD's will be way to small, much smaller than the current Xbox stock HD.

what? too small? as in storage? the current ones are 8gb which is small... the ipods are 10, 20 and 40 now... except the mini ipods which are a the super rip offs
Anybody has any idea how to remove the ipod casing?
It seems to be vacuum tight sealed without any traces of screws or micro-screws...
goddamn...its a hack-free good design

there is a tool u use. it is old somewhere online. i cant remember now.
I think there is a very good chance that MS will come out with some kind of portable music player that is xbox 2 compatable. I am really suprised that they haven't sold a stand alone mp3 player or somthing similar by now.

Try checking
THIS out.
I think the article is BullShit, the amsterdam cafe in B.C. is located in downtown vancouver and doesn't sell alcohol. So the first paragraph tells you it's complete garbage. I can't believe anything else in the article if it starts off on a lie.
I cringe at the fact of trying to fit a VCR in my pocket.
Technically it's completely possible. Theoretically a good idea to appease those pissed about maybe not having an hdd in the xbox2. And not that surprising given that m$ made playing dvd's a paid add-on. Though doing it at a loss for $100 is bs. Just look at how much memory is in a memory card, and how much you gotta pay for it. considering the cost to storage ratio, and the added in functionality of this idea, i'd bet on at least a 200-250 price tag, if not more depending on actual storage size. So "if" it happens, I'd say don't count on that price tag.
Seems like a weekly release.
The iPod KILLER
heh
lemme know when it happens
