| Look in the usual places later and grab my new ToolKit and Manual !!!! SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v.1.5 & Manual v1.0 It's the most comprehensive toolkit to date assembled from all the best tools, utilities, bioses and dashboard currently available, all integrated and packaged together with the full 4034 MS dashboard. It weighs in at 60MB compressed. I am not taking credit for any of the individual tools, except the way they are compiled, the ease of installation and the manual I wrote. Features: * It will allow you to make an EvoX XBOX Bootable CD-RW that can be used to instantly rebuild the whole XBOX HD, retail or upgraded. It will allow you to Format it, Partition it and copy both the MS files as well as the latest EvoX 1.8.3285 with skins and the most popular apps, including the latest Xbox Media Player v2.0, boXplorer and HDDLoader. * It can also flash your TSOP with the latest EvoX D.6 or Xecuter2 4974 MultiVer Bioses, with several others included. Remember that the 2 bridge points need to be connected on the MB for that to work and you'll need a Gen1 Mod Chip. Something simmilar can be done with the Matrix, look up the info. * It also integrates the coolest tool from Superfr0, the EEPromer 0.45, that lets you save and reflash your EEPROM, Lock and Unlock your HD (Retail or Upgraded) with a few button presses!!! But be careful and do not try to lock a v1.1 Xbox with it as it will be rendered useless. * The startup menu on the CD is self explanatory. * The whole thing is easily customizable and updatable when the nexGen dash or newer tools come out. * I've also included a Manual I just made with screenshots of EvoX and a detailed reference to a modded xbox and it's functionality. It will walk someone through using a modded Xbox created using the installer and it's very detailed but still meant for a beginner. The MBMP2 manual is also attached as there are references to it. NOTE: I take no responsibility if anyone messes up their Xbox, so do not use this tool if you do not understand what it does! The Manual however should come in handy to any beginner. I really feel that this is a very thorough toolkit and if possible a moderator should please PIN this post so that everyone will be aware of it. If that does not happen, readers should please reply to this thread to bump it up Thanks and Enjoy! 1wolf1 A.K.A. SlaYer P.S. If anyone finds any bugs please PM me. Also, feedbacks are welcome as replies to this post! |

| Maybe im not getting this right... I made the iso fine, and booted up to it (btw, you should consider making the ip address option in evox.ini default to automatic instead of static. I never changed it before I made the iso and had to keep resetting my pc's ip to switch between the web and the xbox. (my local ip is 10.10, not 192.168). Anyway, it boots up to the evox 3285 dashboard just fine. I can view my ip, go the ms dashboard, pick the rest of the options, etc. But nowhwere do I see a dashboard like other people have (pick game from hd, view dvd movie, etc.) How do I install that part of the dashboard? | Please explain to me how its easier to get a file through ftp than usenet with a dialup rather than on a broadban connection. Is it because you are using a ftp program rather than a web browser? think about these 2 scenarios.. 1) for your ftp , first you have to know the filename your looking for, then you have to find a site, (which is what you as well as others are doing right now in this thread) , then start your ftp program on you pc, type the site ip address in, then log into it, do dir listing for the file you want, then transfer the file. (and thats not counting if the sites full, or goes down, or any number of other things that could screw you...) now, lets look at scenario number 2.. 2) start internet explorer, type www.easynews.com, login, go to favorites (binaries.xbox), in the search box type slayer's evox, click the file and its downloaded to your computer. Now please tell me whats faster? |

The surest way to test to see if the cdrw you created is working or not is try to read it in with windows explorer on your pc. If you can see ANY files its not created correctly. What I had to do to get mine to work was the following: 1) download slayers evox file. 2) Unzip to a folder (eg, SLAYERCD) 3) d/l a util called isomaker1.1 4) run isomaker and point it to the folder where you unzipped slayers' evox cd. (eg, SLAYERCD) 5) specify what you want the iso called and where you want it saved to (IT CANT BE THE SAME FOLDER YOU UNZIPPED SLAYERS EVOX CD TO!) (eg, C:\temp\slayercd.iso) 6) burn the iso with nero or some other cd burn software that supports iso's. 7) put the cd in your xbox and power on!! Thats it.. NOTES: YOu do not have to "install evox software to HD" to make it run. It runs off the cd. (although, as far as I know, you have to run evox dashboard from the cd) nor do you have to flash your mod chip bios with it. (I flashed my matrix with evox2.6noanibluered and put it in mode 3 and installed it in my xbox) To learn a bit how the xbox works, you have to understand that when you power it on, and there is a dvd in the drive, that takes priority over the hd. If there is no dvd, the hardrive boots up with whatever file your mod bios is looking for (eg, xboxdash.xbe, evoxdash.xbe or yboxdash.xbe). Also, as a added tip, you might want to look at the evox.ini file BEFORE you create your iso. You can modify the network parameters in it to make it easier for you to connect from your pc. Hope this helps.. Mr.X Post by: SlaYer on December 20, 2002, 06:04:00 PM I really wish that people would read through an entire post before asking about how to make the ISO, especially since I've posted already that 2 pre-built ISO versions were already released. As for backing up your save games and dashboard before running my tool and erasing and rebuilding everything, the Installer CD is based on EvoX so an FTP server is immediately present as soon as the interface starts up. FTP to the IP on your screen and backup your stuff! Any more feedbacks from people who already used it? Comments, thoughts? Thanks! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: SlaYer on December 20, 2002, 06:40:00 PM
I simply use the default that EvoX uses. If you check the release "evox.ini" file in all the authentic releases, the MS dashboard is referenced/called "msxboxdash.xbe" I did not have time to re-invent the wheel... Post by: SlaYer on December 20, 2002, 09:03:00 PM
I am sorry to say JamesBee, but you must do a little more reading on the subject. There a re few great tutorials written about the way EvoX and the bioses/mod chips work. If you've read my posts carefully (just a couple above this one) you would have read that I have tried to account for most mods/bioses by creating 3 copies of the EvoX dash on the C: partition of the Hard Drive. Please post questions about EvoX general operation and mod chip functionality in the appropriate forums, after you've read the FAQ's. I am in now way discouraging you from asking questions but this is too basic for this particular thread. Good Luck! It has NOT been tested on a v1.1 xbox and until I do, I do not recommend it. Remember that it copies the MS dashboard files from the v1.0 xbox over! The X2 chip has nothing to do with it. Actually 20 was just a conservative number, you can put as many as you have space. I strongly recommend you only use partition6 (F:) drive as that will leave your save game data on (E:) with over 5GB of space for all those save games and it also keeps it "M$ compliant" in case they start to check the HD's for non M$ files. So, any other comments on the Manual? 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: SlaYer on December 22, 2002, 07:15:00 PM
I am sincerely sorry that you did not have a backup. However I did post strong warnings, both in the comments of the RAR file, and in the NFO, as well as in the final option/ackgnowlegement, before your xbox is overwritten... More than that I doubt anyone could possibly ask for. If you still need that one file, just place a request in the newsgroups and I am sure either myself or anyone else would be glad to post that file for you. It is small and simple to do. "Request it in news and it shall appear" 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: SlaYer on December 22, 2002, 08:02:00 PM
Good call Seye, I've actually had a major HD crash here so my mind must have been wondering... YES, the MS Dashboard is located under both RETAIL and LARGE on the Install CD! And it is called "msxboxdash.xbe"! LOL Oh, the installer is version 1.5, 1.0 was an "internal" build... As I stated a few posts back, everyone will have to wait till after the holidays for the new 2.0 version... It will include a software update only option as well as choice of EvoX and nexGen Dashboards along with the latest XBMP2 version and any other cool tools like Team-Assembly's ConfigMagic. Since none are released as of yet this will take a few weeks... Also, since I do not have an Xbox 1.1 I cannot certify this tool fit for the v1.1 unless someone chooses to donate one to me for "medical research" Post by: SlaYer on December 22, 2002, 09:35:00 PM
I am unsure why you think you have to update to the EvoX 2.6 bios and what that has to do with live? You cannot play LIVE with the mod ON! As for installing LIVE, it will erase almost all files from the C: and leave an updated dashboard called "xboxdash.xbe" as the main dasboard. If your EvoX is called "evoxdash.xbe" or "yboxdash.xbe" you will be OK provided that your Bios/Mod chip boots from those files first, rather than "xboxdash.xbe" (BTW, EvoX 2.6 bios will look for "evoxdash.xbe") Please read a little more in the FAQ and the LIVE forum before you attempt this if anythnig is unclear. Good luck! Post by: torbotek on December 22, 2002, 09:46:00 PM i tried using the msxboxdash you have on your cd c:\system/retail... but to no avail! I also made sure the .ini points to msxdash.xbe and still no go for the msdash... any more suggestions.??? Im using matrix and is set at 3.... any comments and suggestions on how to make this thing work is highly appreciated.... Post by: SlaYer on December 22, 2002, 10:33:00 PM
Yes, you can customize the installer to suit your needs... Just add another complete folder under the Apps folder at the same level as the others. It will be installed along with them. Alternatively if you do not want something installed just remove the folder for that program from the Apps folder but do not touch the Apps folder itself. Also, if you REMOVE something make sure to fix the evox.ini files in both the RETAIL and LARGE folders since the link will now be broken. Enjoy! P.S. Please remeber that these kind of questions should be posted and not emailed so everyone can be helped by the answers. Just boot with my Auto Installer and in one button press your brand new HD becomes a fully configured and upgraded XBOX HD with all the apps pre-installed! YEAH! Post by: SlaYer on December 23, 2002, 05:30:00 PM
Actually the XBMP2 included and installed by my Auto-Installer does support VCD's. You might however have to grab the latest "default.xbe" main file for it from the newsgroups. Latest is 12-23-02! Sorry, but no new release till after nexGen and ConfigMagic come out.... Post by: SlaYer on December 23, 2002, 05:41:00 PM
The Installer is meant to boot from CD-RW NOT the HD so it does not matter if you can boot from the HD or not! How would you be able to boot from a new HD? That's what the installer does, it makes your HD XBOX bootable...(among other things) Burn the files on your PC in UDF, or get the ISO version of the installer and make a CD-RW, boot and you're done! No mod chip blocks usage of the DVD drive! Make sure to use a CD-RW not a CDR! No excuses! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: groupdelayed on December 23, 2002, 07:46:00 PM I noticed I am using the same harddrive as you. Your utility worked great for getting the box up and running. I did do some mods to the evox.ini to better suit my preferences. My question is I cannot seem to lock the WD120(8MB) Harddrive using the utilities you provided on the AUto Installer and I don't really feel like ripping the harddrive out to lock it using the DOS utilities on my PC. Any suggestions? I guess I'll wait for ConfigMagic? Great Utility! Post by: SlaYer on December 23, 2002, 10:33:00 PM
That is indeed puzzling and I understand your frustration, but the fact that you cannot boot from CD-RW or DVD-R should not and has nothing to do with the HD. When the XBOX boots, it looks first for a disk in the DVD drive, more specific, for a "default.xbe" file in the root. If it finds it, ie a game or EvoX, it launches it. If there is none, then it looks on the HD for the dashboard. Based on what bios you got it will look for xboxdash.xbe, evoxdash.xbe, yboxdash.xbe, etc... You say you got a matrix mod. First, sorry to hear it If you're still unable to boot from DVD, place a detailed descriptions in a new post / help message in the mod chips forum. I am sure there are a lot of people with the same chip that have probably already experienced and more than likely solved this problem. BTW, can you boot retail games from the DVD? Post all the simptoms in the mod chips forum! Best of luck! Post by: SlaYer on December 23, 2002, 10:44:00 PM
Well, if you cannot lock it it is more than likely that it does not allow that feature. Retail HD's are usually OK, however OEM versions and specifically those sold by DELL during their promotions cannot be locked. If you have a v1.0 xbox and cannot lock your HD with EEPromer 0.45 or newer, it is your HD that does not support that feature! ConfigMagic works the same as EEPromer 0.45, just has more options. If EEPromer cannot lock it, neither will ConfigMagic! Try another HD and you'll see it will work like a dream. Good luck! Post by: groupdelayed on December 23, 2002, 11:02:00 PM Unfortunately it is a retail version and not an OEM. What a bummer....I guess I'll have to use this drive in my PC instead. kamz, the EEPromer 0.45 included in my toolkit uses the HD password that is PERMANENTLY stored in your XBOX, in a chip called the EEPROM. You can safely LOCK/UNLOCK a HD countless times, because it will just read the correct password form the EEPROM and LOCK/UNLOCK at will. There is no such thing as a "lost" password! However, if someone were to mess with the EEPROM and overwrite it with another one, the password will hence change and if the HD was locked prior to this "swap" it will remain locked and you will get an error. The ONLY way to get that HD unlocked is to restore a backup of the original EEPROM configuration. Without it the HD is toast. As I state clearly, I did not write this tool, however I have used it extensively without any ill effects, but if you think you have found a bug, I strongly recommend you post in the "Software Development" forums asking Superfr0 for assistance with his tool. Also, most mod chips could care less if the HD was locked or not, especially those that support HD upgrades like Xecuter1 and newer. So if your HD is not accessible and you swear you did not screw with your EEPROM, you could have a bad HD, period. Best of luck! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: SlaYer on December 24, 2002, 02:09:00 PM
There are slight discrepancies on the dashboard versions and that is why I have used the one from my xbox a 4034. I did notice that some Xboxes complain but a very limited number. It seems to be the most compatible and generic of all. As I made it perfectly clear, no one should use this toolkit without a backup. If anyone screws up they xbox because of it, they better have a backup. This rule applies to anything computer related so everyone shuld be familiar with the backup rule by now... Thanks for the praise though precisionmods, I apprecaite it. Check back here soon for news on the new release after new years. 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: SlaYer on December 25, 2002, 01:04:00 AM

I encountered this problem while changing the EEPROM on an xbox and noticed the M$ Dashboard did not work after the update. If you experience Error 21 after rebuilding your HD with the Auto-Installer, you should try to get another version of the M$ dashboard and overwrite the one in the (C:) drive on your XBOX. (there are plenty of tutorials on evox and FTP!) If someone has ALL the dashboards it would be nice if they could RAR them up and post them on Newsgroups. I would then include them in a folder on the next release of my Auto-Installer so that you can quickly recover. Please do not upload ALL the files in the (C:) drive, just the M$ dashboard labeled correctly. I cannot stress this enough: ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ORIGINAL XBOX HD BEFORE CHANGING ANYTHING!!! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: rustyself on December 27, 2002, 01:45:00 AM heres the ones ive tried so far:1,396,736 bytes, 1,394,036 bytes, 1,336,464 bytes. none of them are hip to my box. will someone pm me with the other 2? or email? kamz, sounds like you're having some problems with your CD-RW media, if you cannot boot from my CD again to LOCK/UNLOCK your HD. My toolkit and the Eepromer 0.45 do not change your EEPROM whatsoever unless you manually FTP an eeprom.bin file to your (Z:) drive on your xbox and force the EEpromer to erase your current one and program the new one. As such, locking/unlocking does not make any permanent and irreversible changes. If however you've found a flaw in the EEpromer tool you should report it. For now, try different CD-RW media to boot the Auto-Installer and run EEpromer from and just lock your HD again! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: SlaYer on December 27, 2002, 04:21:00 PM
Read my replyes to kamz! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: erexx on December 27, 2002, 05:09:00 PM I *thought* that would be and is a problem. The M$ dash.xbe must be the same kernal version of the Xbox with "some" exceptions. Nice work 1wolf1. This was a point of concern in these forums awhile back. I tried to build a "universal" recovery disk using the EvoXHD installer but quickly ran into this problem with between a 3944 and a 4034 xbox. I though that it had something to do with the xboxdash.xbe version because there were so many folks deleting their original dash's and requesting new ones. Often the same user would come back and state that the new dashboard file they tracked down did not work. Post by: TedAppleberry on December 27, 2002, 05:50:00 PM
OK, so am I just screwed then? I still have the original HD which has not been overwritted? I did not lock\unlock the drive at all I only ran the epprommer program. Do I take this whole XBOX and chip out to the street and drive over it repeatedly? I realy hope now, can't afford a new one anytime soon Post by: TedAppleberry on December 27, 2002, 08:13:00 PM
This is exactly what I did. I took the BIOS I wanted to flash my Matrix with, copied it to the Z drive. The eeprommer program found it, loaded it, verified it. I rebooted, now I have nothing. Blue screen with our without mod. Post by: Pizza Pizz on December 27, 2002, 09:09:00 PM Made the usual mistake of not backing up my original dashboard - oops - but got it sorted in the end..... Realised that my messiah-x wasn't gonna let me use a bigger h/d but did the 2 jumper points when mod was installed. Had better luck with dvd-r as opposed to cd-rw and in the end used both slayer's disc and evolution 1.8458 both on dvd-r (worth it cos they both booted fine everytime) used the 1.8458 to get xbox linked to pc with no real hassle, put the msdashboard back on - rebooted - phew the dash i got seemed to work - was a tad worried but live and learn as they say ok - back to ftp - hmm - ok well got the evolution flash bin file sitting on my xbox's c drive.... re-read all the info I could find - ok here goes and executed the raw flash fxp command.... jeez it may just have worked - tray can open now without the reset, shut xbox off - in goes a bigger h/d - no more error screens did think about removing messiah-x but it can stay in there for a while.... ok back to rebuilding the bigger h/d - got the proper msdashboard on my pc's h/d still so go for it.... re ftp the old dash back over - reboot - yup all working now there's a 120gb Western Digital in there all ready to go..... even just using it on the old standard h/d it is a brilliant utility saved a lot of time indeed - fanx 1,000,000 Post by: SlaYer on December 27, 2002, 11:49:00 PM
Good job and congrats. I hate to say it but it seems like you like to "tinker" with your xbox and I would highly recommend upgrading the Messiah to an LPC mod that will allow you to use a large HD. It makes a world of difference! Glad you've had a positive experience! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: SlaYer on December 27, 2002, 11:57:00 PM
You are obviousely confusing the BIOS with the EEPROM. The EEPromer tool only backs-up/flashes the EEPROM and does not touch the BIOS. If you've flashed your EEPROM and do not have a backup of your original "eeprom.bin" file or another valid "eeprom.bin" file you're toast! If you do find a valid "eeprom.bin" file you'll need to do the following: 1) SOLDER on a programmable LPC mod (X2 or BioXX) 2) Program it with the Complex Debug BIOS v1.03 (1MB in size!) 3) Boot with my Auto-Installer and via FTP copy a valid "eeprom.bin" file to the (Z:) drive. ( Or use the ConfigMagic tool from Team Assembly ) 4) Restore your original/or a good EEPROM to your XBOX, remove the LPC modchip and boot normally. Good Luck! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: n1pper_ on December 28, 2002, 03:26:00 AM Post by: SlaYer on December 28, 2002, 04:07:00 AM
Sure can, when it boots up it allows you to FTP. The IP address appears on screen. However some people's networks were a little different than mine Either way, you can FTP to your XBOX by booting with my Installer CD. 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: SlaYer on December 28, 2002, 04:10:00 AM
AGAIN, the EEpromer program only changes your EEPROM, NOT your BIOS. If you messed your EEPROM up and have no backup or a valid "eeprom.bin" file from a friend, you're toast! Last hope would be for someone here to give/sell you theirs or a spare "eeprom.bin" file from a box they modded. Ask around, you never know. Good luck! 1wolf1 a.k.a SlaYer Post by: TedAppleberry on December 28, 2002, 08:07:00 AM

I thought I made it perfectly clear that the installer v1.5 does NOT support v1.1 xboxes. V2.0 will and it's coming out soon! In any case, wait for the v2.0 as it will probably be able to fix your box with a M$ Dash patch. BTW, what are your K: D: Values in the M$ Dash under System Info? If you've used an upgraded HD the F: drive is then used for applications and games. The tool is called Px HDD Loader v1.0a and it creates a folder on the F: drive called "f:\hddloader" Under this folder it creates a series of subfolders called PxGame0...PxGame99 or whatever and copies a game from CD/DVD there. If you want to FTP a game in you need to create a new folder called PxGameXX, where the "XX" is the next number in the existing series. So if there is already 3 games then the folders will be PxGame0, PxGame1,PxGame2 and you will create PxGame3, got it? Just FTP the contents of the CD/DVD to that folder and both EvoX and the PX HDD Loader tool will see it properly. Have fun! Pretty much. here's what you do, on a modded v1.1 xbox, run a Evo-x boot ISO. Backup your whole original MS xbox HD with FlashFXP FTP. Then , install your new HD and run slayer's installer. Once that is done, FTP the three files default.xip, memory2.xip and xboxdash.xbe renamed to msxboxdash.xbe. Also, if your original HD had "xboxdashdata. 10027100" and "xodash" folder's in your C drive you should FTP them also, in the xodash folder rename xonlinedash.xbe to msxonlinedash.xbe and and add your Evo-x xboxdash.xbe renamed to xonlinedash.xbe in the "xodash" folder as well. Plus you should delete the update.xbe file in the "xodash" folder AND....Last but not least , in your Evox.ini file in the area at the bottom Titled "Section Root" you need to add this with all the other items ; Item "MS Xbox Live","c:\xodash\msxonlinedash.xbe" After all this is done you will be able to select MS dash and it will take you to your MS dash. When in MS dash you will be able to select your Evox dash by selecting Xbox live Post by: Fatlab on January 06, 2003, 12:28:00 AM Thanks for the clarification, that's just what I needed to know. I assume the 'xboxdashdata' stuff is related to Xbox live? If so it's irrelevant to me as ISDN is the best I can get. I have read that certain games like splinter cell copy over update.xbe. Do they only do that if Live is installed? Finally, to complete the last part of the puzzle, do I only need to lock the HD if I intend to boot virgin bios without the mod chip installed? No, they only do that if live is'nt installed. I think the update.xbe is'nt needed once live is installed afterword's. I'm not totally sure about locking the HD and booting a virgin BIOS as i have not done it yet. But...I can play original games with my modchip disabled on MS dash with no problem's. I believe(not sure) that the only time a non-locked HD will give you problem's would be with xbox live. Post by: SlaYer on January 06, 2003, 12:05:00 PM
YES it will work, you are correct. The trick is just getting the 3 files for the M$ Dash back on. Version 2.0 coming out this week will support both. The V1.1 support is from M$ Dash 4817. If you have a different Dash for your v1.1 xbox, please PM me so I can add it to the installer before I release. Remember it's the D:# not the K:# that matters from System Info. Post by: SlaYer on January 06, 2003, 12:10:00 PM
You are 90% correct. You can boot with my installer CD but before doing anything, back up the original HD to your PC via FTP. there are plenty of tutorials on this. Once you have a good backup on your PC you can replace the HD and actaully "run" the installer. You'll be fine. Also, remember that if it's a v1.1 or a rare v1.0 you might get error 21 when launching the M$ dash. To fix that if it ever happends just wait for my v2.0 installer to be released later this week. Good luck! Post by: Netman on January 06, 2003, 01:15:00 PM How about adding this to the evox.ini file so we can flash out chip bios. NO, the backup of your retail HD is to protect you in case you get errors after using the SlaYer Installer. My installer contains ALL the files needed to build a HD from scratch, however there are a lot of different versions of xboxes and not all all identical. As such I cannot cover them all. Having a backup will allow you to restore your original M$ Dashbaord for example if you get error 21 after the install. Also, all your save game progress data resides in E: so I am sure you'd want that backed up. Lastly, once you remove the retail HD from the XBOX you cannot access it in a PC unless you unlock it first. and even then you willl have to reformat it as it is incompatible with PC Operating Systems. So you MUST use FTP to get your adata out first. PLEASE read all the posts in this thread BEFORE attempting to use the installer. Almost all possible issues have been covered already. Good Luck! Post by: SlaYer on January 07, 2003, 09:01:00 AM
There are several tutorials on flashing the on board bios of your XBOX, called a TSOP, but they require you to bridge 2 points on the motherbaord, one in the back and one on top. This is not for the faint of heart The Xecuter 1.0 or 1.1 however are LPC mods and do not allow you access to the TSOP so you can flash it. Best bet is to get a BioXX or X2Lite, since both can be programmed v easy. Personally I found the BioXX easier to use. Of course. Just make sure that you do not modify your BIOS or EEPROM. All other modifications are made only to the files on the HD, so installing your old HD back will work just fine! Also is there any way to play dvd movies without the DVDX2 ? I already have a dvd remote, but with DVDX2 the remote is disabled. This is the most stupid one, how do I just boot back to the original Xbox dash? Note that all the names listed above are they way they come directly out of the zip (and rar) files. You can change the name of the files to whatever you wish as the actual checksum is based on the content of the files and NOT the name of the file itself. ROM These define different BIOS versions and their CRC (Cyclical Redundancy Check for verification and the like [and that is as technical as I am getting on the subject]). The structure is as follows: ROM = , example: ROM = "EvoX 2.0",0x76fd88337b8d8c1f116f85f3984b98b6 Flash Similar to the ROM parameter but this defines flash parts so these can be displayed as well. The structure is as follows: Flash = (TBD),"", example: Flash = 0x01d5,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000 Current Simply used to tell EvoX which version your BIOS is for display purposes. BIOS and information about the ROM files available for flashing. Sourse:EvoX.ini explained SS113 Post by: SS113 on January 09, 2003, 05:55:00 PM
YES The tool will format the drive and create the directories it needs for the install, hdprepair will have no affect on it. Just install the drive in the Xbox and run the tool. If you are not in a big hurry to do this right away, V2.0 of the installer will be out shortly. Features are more defined and strait forward. I personally recommend you wait for V2.0 of the installer. "NO" You must use FTP to copy off the files to your PC. The installer has no place to copy files to because the drive will be formated prior to install. You need to back up at least C: and E: I suggest all of them should be backed up. All tests are complete and the files are being compressed as we speak into 3 pieces about 21MB each! Archive is a RAR and includes authenticity verification. Distribution filenames are: SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.0.nfo SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.0 FINAL.part01.rar SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.0 FINAL.part02.rar SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.0 FINAL.part03.rar Files will go up in YENC format so make sure your newsreader supports it! Actual release will happen in a few minutes, but please keep in mind that news servers take a while to distribute files so be patient. If you do not see this after a day or so, simply post a request for it in the "alt.binaries.cd.image.xbox" newsgroup. Oh, and Please DO NOT PM or EMAIL ME ASKING FOR IT! Unfortunately, NO. It is against the most basic rule of the forum. You do not want them to get shut down, do you? Because that is what will happen if they have links to stuff like this. As for v1.5 being a work of art, thanks, but brace yourself and call me Michelangelo cause you'll be blown away by v2.0 Check it out, through thye link below, and if you read carefuly though both my initial post and some of the early follow-ups you'll be able to get software to locate it quickly.
