Post by: knikker on December 06, 2002, 06:00:00 PM
WD(western digital) is 8gig
ST(Seagate) is 10gig
xbox v1.0 has the WD built in so that means u have 8gig
xbox v1.1 has ST built in so u have 10gig(go ahead and format the F:\ drive)

MS doesn't place a F: drive on the partition.
EvolutionX is checking if you have an F drive and if you haven't it 0 MB.

When you put an 80 or 120 GB hd in your system you can format it with evoX and you will get an F: drive.
Since you have the original you have 0MB free.

About your question of getting 2 extra GB. I don't know and i never took the time to investigate. Once your stacking your xbox with divx movies and games 2 extra GB aint sh*t

I also found a way to check fot the HD installed without opening the console. Just install EvolutionX and use the backup option. If you chec at the backup folder created by EvolutionX there's a text file with HD information. Here you can see the HD model installed. If it reads STxxxx (I can remember the numbers) you have a Seagate model and has 10GB capacity.

Just format F: partition and you have 2Gb free instead of 0. wink.gif
