Title: Conflict: Desert Storm
Post by: mvdzwaan on September 08, 2002, 02:17:00 PM
I guess it's a no go for this release from a new group.

The iso is an ordinary iso (xIso does not unpack it, winimage, winiso can) not an xbox iso.

When unpacked it runs on a pal xbox but with 50% sound, crashes and 'your disc is dirty' warnings.

So it's a very bad release in my opinion

dude it is not a iso at all........it is all the files rared together, packed as teg-confl.iso.....just use winrar again to unpack all files into your conflict folder........ Hope this helps you (mvdzwaan), but that is not my prob. I think my box will not run pal games anymore....I got 5 other games that I beleive are pal versions(2 are for sure) that will not run anymore since I change bios from xtender to evo.

Had no problem unpacking it (did not know winrar does normal iso's as well, always used winimage for this).

But anyway, the unpacked files (930+Mb) placed on HD will not run properly.

Game starts, some missions will start, but again, crashes, no sounds, etc.etc.

ok.....that game does not even load on my system......But, I got a ? for you..... I got 5 other games that will not play on my xbox anymore...they are all pal games....They did work great, then I changed from xtender 1.1 to the evo. bios(not sure which one) and none of them will boot anymore...

does the evo. bios play pal games?

I have a pal xbox with evo 2.3 and it runs everything, pal (eur/jap) and ntsc

I found out.....I got evo 2.2 bios, does it run pal on ntsc?

I've got a total of 6 games now that will not play anymore.....I know that at least 3 of them are pal games....I'm wondering if changing the bios is what caused this......I can not remember if the last time I played them was before or after I changed from xtender 1.1 to evo 2.2.......

ok listen your problems is because u need to extract the udf data from the cd, not the iso data, load the iso up in daemon tools, then go to that cd drive and copy all the files to a folder, then ul that folder to your xbox, i bet you it will work much better now =)

it can read udf formatted discs, and its not even a xbox format iso that teg made, its a udf disc, i got the daemon tools info from one of teg-psx's members after i complained of the same no sound and dirty disc error, now ive been playing from hdd for 3 days now =)

1st for burnmaster : I was wrong, I'm using Evo 2.2 on PAL xbox (not 2.3) and have no problems

2nd for SniperKilla : Thanks for the tip. Isobuster indeed shows an ISO file system and an UDF filesystem (but can't extract it).

I just used Daemon Tools, copied the data over and will test on xbox in a minute !

Extracted UDF image works here as well. No problems anymore.

Thanks SniperKilla

Can someone explain WHY there are sound problems when extracting it as an ISO and why the sound is ok when you extract the UDF bit instead...?

I would have thought that if the files extract then they are ok.. is there something about the data being corrupted when extracting as an ISO..?

with the daemon tools, are ya'll burning on dvd first, and then extracting udf data?  or are you just loading up the iso from hd and then extracting?

and.... will the same method work for ncaa 2k3's .gi image?

Guys Im a newbie here and don't quite understand what you guys say here. I got the dvd iso and I want to extract it to hd and play it from hd. Which program do I use to extract it properly and what else do I do to the files? Whats a UDF? Please be so kind and help me with this step by step.

Thanks so much for your time.

i described how to do it if you guys would open  your eyes, here we go 1 more time.

Download Daemon-tools and install (find the site your self im too lazy)
Extract the iso from the rars.
In the lower right of your screen ull see a red icon for daemon tools
Left click on it once, then pick the Device 0 thing.
Pick your iso.
Go to my computer and look for the new cdrom drive.
go to it, and copy all the files off the cd into a temp directory on your computer.
Send that dir over to the xbox and have fun.

IsoBuster claims support for .gi

Don't know if it will extract as IsoBuster reads the udf image as well, but does not allow extraction.

What's happening with this ISO is there are 2 filesystems (directory tables if you wish). They are both pointing to the same files in the ISO but in different ways.

I did not examine the files closely, first thing I noticed was the ISO image had all uppercase names, and the UDF had lowercase. (Xbox probably is case-insensitive so this will not cause the problem).

There are probably some subdirectory mappings different as well.

Well the gasme dosent work if you extract iso data, end of story.

And you can invert aim, if youd take the time to look in options u can see that control config 4 is what you want.

isobuster does state that it supports and extracts .gi.

sure enough, it does show the .gi files, but it won't let you extract them.  it puts up a message that says 'registration is required', even though my version is registered.

Look man, that is not my problem............

I know how to do all that stuff...

Can you not read?

I have 6 games including Conflict that will not work..........5 of these games worked before....... I think all of them are pal games.........the five that worked before are burnt to disc......I know they were burnt right, hell I played them.........

I have put conflict on my HD, and I have never got any errors("No sound or dirty disc error")

The game will not boot!!!!!!!!

That sure does not seem to be the same PROBLEM that you had.....

I do not beleive you know what you are talking about.......... grr.gif

Has anyone had problems playing pal games with Evo2.2 bios....(that is what I'm using....

BTW, I have about 12 other games on my HD that work just fine, just can't get conflict(on HD) or the 5 other games(on cdrw that did work) to boot at all.......they just make the PC dvd-rom spin up, and then boots the evo dashboard.....

I'm not trying to be a @sshole, it is just that Sniperkilla trying to make me out as a dumb@ss...................

Thanks to everyone else smile.gif

Hey burn master all these people are trying to help you that is the point of this forum you don't have to act dumb cause your problem hasn't got fixed it took me over 2 months to fix a problem and I finally got it with that attitude I assure you that you will not get your problem fixed

Set your controller mode, to invert the Aim during gameplay.

It works fine. I couldn't stand the default either!
