Title: 295kbps Transfer Rate - Should It Be Faster?

I have my xbox and pc connected via a dlink wireless router. My transfer speed maxes out around 280kbps. Shouldn't it be much higher? Are there some settings I could have wrong? Any help greatly appreciated.

Even for a wireless network, 280 kbps is very slow. You should be able to get at least 1 or 2 mbps.

What I would do is try adjusting the antennas on the router and PC. I find that even if they are pointed just a couple of degrees in the wrong direction, the signal strength can be affected greatly.
