.rar files are used to compress and breakup larger files in to chunks for easier upload and download. There are lots of freeware\shareware utilities out there to decompress (or "unrar") the files. A single xbox ISO could be 5 rar files or as many as 50 depending on the size of the game.

There has been a very recent release that wasn't in iso format, this is easily burned to dvd by creating a data disk project using primo dvd.
Alternatively, you could simply make a folder on your F: partition on your xbox hdd, copy all the files into that folder and then run it from your Evox dash. It works I've done it !

then burn the 'files' using mode 1, UDF file system w/ bridge. Nero has this option, as does Sony CDXtreme, and others I'm sure
