Yes it does play cdrw backups, although dvdrw get the best results.
Xiso is the best program to unpack iso's with. Fast and Reliable
The original xbox hdd is tiny @ 8gb if you have Evo X bios then you should definatley upgrade the hdd.
Never used mame sorry.
