Title: Want To Backup My Xbox Hdd

i want to hook up my xbox's hard drive to my pc and back up the data on it, is that possible? and if so how do i go about doing it? i tired putting it in once already and it didnt detect it on a restart so im not sure what to do, are there special jumper settings i need to apply?

also the xbox the hard drive came out of is completely dead, so i cant ftp the files over ethernet to my computer or i would have done it that way

your pc will not be able to recognize your xbox hdd. What exactly are you looking to accomplish? Are you going to get another hdd for your xbox? If that is the case, you can just use xboxhdm to clone the old hdd to the new one. If you just want to have a backup of the stuff you have on the xbox hdd, I believe you can get something from the usual places to help your pc recognize the hdd, but I'm not sure someone else would know.

get something from the useful places? whats that? id like to make my pc be able to detect the hard drive so i can back it all up

is there a way to unlock my xbox hard drive with my pc? since the xbox it was in is now dead, i cant use it to unlock it.

ftp from your xbox to your PC!!!!

if you r xbox is dead, get another with the same mobo and swap the eeproms over (a little tricky but possible) then unlock your hard drive!!!!!!! and stick it in another xbox and ftp it to your PC

or, if you have the hardware, dump the eeprom on a eeprom programmer! then read the contents to use a program to unlock your hard drive (i think thats possible)
