I'm a newbie learning to mod my xbox and I want to equip it w/ either a 300GB or 400GB HD.
I've found this HD:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 400GB, 7200RPM, Internal ATA/100 Hard Drive
Will this type of hard drive be acceptable, or should I find another type of hard drive? If the answer to this has been posted already then I'm sorry, so feel free to post the link that has the answers I need. In the mean time I'll keep looking for the info I need.
Please, any answers or tips are welcome. Thank you.

Don't take only my word for it, but based on personal experience, getting a Seagate that large would be a problem. Seagates are known to be the quietest of all the HD's you could put in your box, but I'm thinking they demand too much of the stock PSU as well. I've had to replace two PSUs because of greedy Seagates(80 gig), but again, that's me. Personally, I would recommend Western Digital because I've never run into any problems with them, but I hear Maxtor is overall the best choice. And you REALLY don't need 400 gigs unless you have a lifetime's amount of porn/anime

I've got a Maxtor 250GB, and it's excellent. I've had extremely bad luck all my life with WD Drives (pieces of crap). Except for that original xbox HD. That thing was like a frigging rock.

ramza34 and rtheil, thanks for replying. Your info was very helpful to me!
I may look into either the Hitachi 400Gb drive, or I might just get a 300GB hard drive instead except I've read posts about corruption on larger-sized HDs. I guess I have much to think about.
