Just to clarify a small part of that. The analog sticks will 'mechanically stick' if there is no shell on there, as they're not designed to move that far in normal use and don't when the top shell is in place with the Stick caps on them. Even the stock Sticks will jam like that if there is no shell and Stick caps present, that's perfectly normal.
