Are you sure that is original? The original kits had the DVD bezel with green writing on it to match.

Yes it is a retail dev kit.
There were diffrent models earlier versions yes did have green on the bezel as well as a diffrent jewel on top. This was manufactured mid-xbox life span.
Yes there are variations... current offer is 300. I will leave this up for another day.. if noone claims its yours Blackwater.

You probably mean hedgehogmd, he probably offered you $300. I don't have $300 to offer right now, give me a couple of weeks and I would.

Although it says unopend and not tampered with etc i'd advise people take a good look at some of those pictures.

"Property of Microsoft" label   <-- look at this one in particular.

From what i'd say it deffinatly looks like it HAS been tampered with on this label at some point in its life, please proove me wrong.

Also, the DVD bezel IS the wrong one, the official XDK bezel on such a unit should have green text, this looks to me like a crystal xbox dvd bezel in its place.

The unit if its not had anything changed is a DVT-4 development kit, as such the above should be correct, so the DVD bezel is wrong.

It would be nice to see a photo of the back of the unit to see what its like behind, i assume the extension cards are in place and as they should be.

I'm curious though, as ive seen too many re-builds of people putting xbox motherboards in the XDK cases and selling them as a genuine XDK, the sticker issue worries me. I'm not saying yours isn't genuine, but this sticker thing is a real worry for me.

Sorry to come accross probably in the wrong direction, but i'd just like to speak the truth and give friendly advice.

EDIT: Just to clear things up, the XDK's that had a different style jewel on top are the DVT-3's all XDK's came with the green text on the bezel, wether its a DVT3 or DVT4.

I thought they were all green. The sticker does look peeled too... dry.gif

Well after careful consideration I'm happy with this Dev Kit. I don't say this lightly.

'Yes' it 'should' have a green DVD bezel, but this item is not set in stone with mid-life production Dev Kits. Some have been officially returned for repair and officially resealed, DVD drives swapped etc.

The stickers also looked fine to me. I can see what peep's meant about them, but they don't look suspect for the wrong reasons, which is important.

...IMO minor point, it would of been nice to have a photo of the entire bottom of the case, this would show the context of the security stickers better, in relation to the screws that they are covering, and hopefully show any 'peeling' the wrong side of the screws, if that makes sense!

Agreed, and the faceplate could have been swapped without opening the xbox as you can just eject the dvd tray and swap them (if that was the case). Free bump for a nice xbox smile.gif
