Title: Zpoints Stuff
Post by: geniusalz on June 14, 2004, 01:10:00 PM
Modified the testskin to create a unique menu scroller.  Check it out

Edit: BJ, still waiting for the implementation of the real smooth scroller.  i.e. discards any input while animations are going on, so animations appear smooth even if the up/down button is held.  Along with that, have the option of speeding up animations by pressing a trigger.

Thanks.  Unfortunately, effects like these require 3 text elements (and 3 sets of zpoints) for each 'real' text item to be shown in the menu.  <

I actually scanned through the xml file to see how you produced the results... Little bit of work... I would like to ask though, are you going to expand the functionality of your Z-Pointer? Or once this next release comes, begin work on something such as UX Architect ? Not that MXM skinner is not great, but it will be behind in features, as I feel that in the release after this one, music and visuals may get more priority... Anywho, I would like to see maybe a grid you can show while mapping Z poitns and the coordinates shown on screen while you move the pointer around the image, for more precise Z pointing...

Ok I'm done talkin out my arse now...     <

I've heard a lot about UX Architect, but haven't seen it yet.  Is it only available for beta testers?

I've learnt quite a lot since MXM Skinner, and if I were to make it again, I would do things quite differently.  I would definitely like to see UX Architect, and have a look at how it's done...

Zpoints do complicate things quite a lot, and I don't know any 3D programming, so doing another skinner is not on my mind right now.

The zpoint tool was just a 5 minute job.  I might make something better, I might not.  Depends on how I feel :P   <

Yeah, UX Architect should go public in a week or two, but I am sure if you asked hectobleezy, he would be more than willing to let you have access to it... Just post a message in his thread for it, over in the UX forums...

EDIT::: I see you have taken care of the above already...  B)
