i would sell a blank...but unfortunately the wire is wrapped around the outside of the LED legs which means taht putting the leds in is one of the first steps...
that basically means that all you would be getting is taht little plastic ring, and wire if you wanted it. You would have to put it together all by yourself. <

the molex connector has a male and female end so that you just plug the molex coming from the PSU into one end and plug the other end into the HDD. Just like a cathode. And yes they have double sided tape on the bottom so that you just stick it right under the lid. <

the rings are a very rigid plastic, they cant be formed in any other shape and cannot be made bigger...sorry..yes you can connect 4 of them..its no different than just have 40 leds in your box...(which people do)

I was going to ask this too but I think the ring would be too big and would show. The ring needs to be hidden under the jewel to look good on a clear case.

And on the other hand, you can purchase LEDs in bulk and make 10,000 dongle mods in a week if you wanted to........ but there are a terrible lot of people who don't want to invest in a band saw, 6 feet of PVC pipe, and all the other parts to build it and make the errors from the first few times - or just dont feel comfortable with that level of craftswork either - and just want a plug&play solution. Nothing wrong with thinking up a good solution then selling it - just look where he posted it - in BUY SELL TRADE. If he made a faq - that would be towards an entire different set of people, and been posted in a different forum. But I don't see what's so wrong with posting it here and expecting for it to be purchased.
P.S. I want one white LEDS facing outward for halo LE case...

along with many cuts made into it with a tablesaw and using a drill press, which very few people have. Its not just PVC with holes drilled, it is much cleaner than that.

amen to that.... although it does kinda upset me that someone is making money of such an easy thing, he is performing a very vital role of the economy (not on a large scale). People demand a product that will very easily light up the jewel without soldering and hardwiring etc.... and he has provided it... although many people like me would much rather do it ourselves.... but thats the way the economy works.....

I was just wondering if you guys cut out that little lip that is under the jewel on the LE box's, becuase nothing would fit evenly on there without cutting off that lip. Heres a pic of what I mean....
if you guys cut off that lip i have a design that would fit under the jewel, and be SUPER BRIGHT for those LE cases, all you have to do it dremel or sand off that little lip.
Let me know if you guys do that

Good news: No Remorse sent me a test 3d jewel so that i can try out my led rings to make sure they fit around the jewel. They fit and are just about perfect for them. I am going to work so i dont have time to resize it, but here's a pic. Mad modder 3d jewel with my 10 led ring around it.

i did eventually test to see if two colors worked and the test turned out negative...

Seriously, you got a better shot at getting a patent on a picture frame! I've applied for patents in regard to optics....it's tough man!

Those confirmation/tracking numbers from USPS aren't like FEDEX or UPS..they are pretty crude. I remember one time I sent someone a package using USPS Express and used the delivery confirmation.... It never got updated! They are only good for tracking purposes if the product get's lost at least you have something to prove it was shipped. I bet I get the package before they update it..HA.

I'll tell you this though. I ordered on the weekend and mine were shipped on Tuesday, I paid for express shipping and they arrived today!! You can't beat that.
It's hard to find individuals to give service like that. I mod a few machines a week and I don't have the resources to stock tons of chips, HD's, cases, parts, and case modding kits, so it's nice to know that if I get an order from one of my customers that I can depend on 'bob' to help me take care of my people!

I'd have to say that the width of the ring is approximately a little less than a half inch.
You won't go wrong by ordering this ring. If you were to order a 8 ring PCB from other vendors, you would end up paying 27.99 plus shipping and still have to purchase a y-splitter to power the damn thing up. This is complete. This is the best I have seen.
The only thing I like better about the PCB's is the two slotted hole extensions that secure the ring into place. No adhesive is needed at all. But, I would imagine if you don't have a translucent case you could use a glue gun and hot glue to secure this ring even better. Hot glue is easily removed if you decide to change colors down the road.
Bobbrkrsmyhero for president!!! This ring rocks! Do yourself a favor...Buy the damn thing. You will not regret it.
These rings are going to be the only ring that I use on my mods. Sure I can buy blank PCB's in bulk and insert my own LED's...but, you pay for convenience and you can't beat this price!
One suggestion though for ya bob. I truly appreciated you writing the color of the ring on it so I didnt' have to plug them all in to find a specific color, but you should write the color on the side that isn't going to be visible through a translucent case. You can see the word "Green" on the ring through the translucent case.

Actually, you would need 20 small holes..each LED has two legs...positive and negative.
Some people like to pay for convenience of having a quality item manufactured for them.
If I give you $2 will you make me 10,000 please...

I have bought many of these rings...there is ample room for the ring. I dont recall them ever resting on the DVDD or HD. There has to be some clearance because if not the clip for the IDE cable would cause the case to not sit right. Which I have had happen from www.thexboxspot.com 's rings.

Ive read through all the pages in this thread a little bit again and i dont recall the dimensions of the ring itself. How thick is it? Does it practically rest on top of the dvd drive and hdd?
I have bought many of these rings...there is ample room for the ring. I dont recall them ever resting on the DVDD or HD. There has to be some clearance because if not the clip for the IDE cable would cause the case to not sit right. Which I have had happen from www.thexboxspot.com 's rings.

Hi
Got my two led rings today, overall I'm impressed with them I'm waiting on the delivery of my halo crystal, so i put the outwards one in my normal crystal case and put it on top of my white xbox to see how it lights up.
and
the only niggle was that some of the insulation was not covering the wires in a couple of places so I've tapped them and for some bizzare reason the back right of my xbox doesn't shut so easily, but i figure this just needs a bit of attention.

all you need to do after you trim that off is cut a hole in the shielding big enough for the molex to fit through

a Wizard Rotary Tool Worked very well for me to cut that lip off. And after bending my sheilding to shit...i decided to leave it off. BTW This is a BIG ASS TIP. If u sand the lip off....clean off the dust that it makes...becuase the dust DOES show on the outside (for the crystals and halo les of course) and beleive me it looks like shit. So clean before u put the sheilding back on.

check the first like 10 pages for a pic but installed mine on my halo edition woithout cutting i just made my own double sided tape and stuck it on there as a quik install to show my friends but it was on there good and it stuck so good i couldnt remove it without force so i left it and heres the result but a bad camera

What colors do you guys recommend for a crystal? So far I've heard white and alternating white/blue.. Also, what about for a halo LE? Green?

I was just wondering what rating of MCDs would you reccomend if I was going to get 5 white and 5 blue leds for alternating ring. I want it noticeable in the day but not overpowering that it distracts you. Also is 10 leds seem bright for those who have this, would 8 be better? Thanks.
