What you want is a menu.xml, a mxm.xml is the configuration file for... And have you visited my Help Site in my SIG? Should help ya, the pinned xml topic in this forum should help also...

Read up on Yuyu's site on how to write your own mxm.xml and menu.xml. Then take a look at this to help guide you on how to convert your menu settings from evox to MXM. Evox.ini2Menu.xml.pdf

I caught up with this guy on #mxm today.. he asked which xml file to use.. I told him that the only xml file that he needed was MXM.XML.. cause it really is all he needs... I find it much easier to do every thing inside 1 file instead of 2... but yes it's true.. he may prefer to seperate them.. how ever the MXM.XML fully supports all the functions that a MENU.XML does.. except that you can have multiple MENU xml files, but only 1 MXM.XML file.. Anyway.. I told him to post in the forums and I or someone elso would try to help him convert or point him in the right direction...

im having similar problems: cant get my menu and skin the way i want it. heres my MXM.xml file (i dont use a menu.xml at all): http://www.mts.net/~and0581/pics/MXM.xml
i have the mxm.xml file just sitting in C:\...i and i have my skins in a C:\MXM\Skins folder....should i put the skins in the same dir as the xml file? does it matter?? i dont think it should...but at this point im grasping at straws.
to me it looks like it should work fine...but the skin always comes up as one of the 'simplicity' skins, and in the configuration menu i can only choose from the skins that came with MXM. none of the ones i downloaded show up at all.
im not sure what im doing wrong...can someone please give me a hand? i really wanted to get my box looking the way i want cause im bringing it over to a friends house for some post superbowl gaming and i wanna show off what it can do!
can anyone help me out ??? thanks

Add this to the main node of your mxm.xml
<SkinsPath>c:\MXM\Skins</SkinsPath>
And put the mxm.xml in the same folder as the mxm xbe
EDIT (BJ): Don't need to double-up the slashes now!!!
