How do you disable caching in the mxm.xml file? What is the actual code?
I'm trying to build an auto-installer and it takes forever to build menus (my guess is that it scans the whole cd which I don't want).
Thanks for any useful help given...

guys calm down. all the problems will be fixed in the next version, whenever that comes out, so just patiently wait

This auto-caching really sucks, especially since you can't diasble it. I really wanted to use MXM as the frontend, now I think I'll use UnleashX. It's nearly just as powerful...

why dont u just write your own menu.xml? so it doesnt need to scan the disc.
-
That's what I was trying to find out.
I wrote my own menu.xml menu but it would still take about 3 minutes or so before it would show the menu...
I didn't know exactly how to do it, that's why I asked.
Any help would be appreciated, like sample scripts etc..
Thanks :)

sure man, its relatively easy. i'll post mine when i get home.

Same goes for me. I'm using MXM as an app right now, trying to learn how to use it. But, writing .xml's is challenging for me because I'm a noob idiot and can't figure out where to put things, what order to put them in, or even how to write it properly. I tried to write it to play my soundtrack on my box and got nothing. I know I did it wrong. An example .xml would be a GODSEND!

U probably have to reset your menu cache. Just press Y in the dash and select "Reset Menu Cache", then reboot. This is the default option to have a faster bootup... U can disable cacheing if u want.
