biggrin.gif T H I S ___ S E L L E R___ I S___ H I G H L Y___ R E CO M M E N D E D !!!!

I have to admit I haven't bought very many things through the mail so I was a little bit nervous about buying a modded X Box. I searched the Internet sites and I noticed that this seller consistently gets excellent reviews. Well I held my breath and took the plunge and just bought a modded X Box with a 120 gb hard drive from Brian. (if I had my tax refund back I would probably have opted for an even bigger hard drive).

I can see why this seller gets such great reviews. He e-mailed me and kept me in the loop at all times. No surprises at all. Excellent service - what a very fast turn around (I live in Florida). Today my X Box arrived. It was packed well and securely and was sent by Federal Express to my door. It runs perfectly. No noise. No problems. Very professional job. Brian obviously knows what he is doing and it looks and runs just like brand new!!!!!

Brian even included a back up disk!!!! My only "problem: was that I tried to read it on my X Box and it wouldn't read. Well I soon figured out it is a computer disk to back up the E-Prom, popped it in the computer and it worked great!!!! Brian I would add a note about this to your customers because some (like me) need help figuring this out.

I would definitely do business with Brian again!!! Great prices, excellent service, packed well and shipped to my door. Most importantly he went the extra mile to always keep me in the loop between the time I sent my payment and when my X Box arrived today. Everything was in new condition. Packed securely and arrived spotless in great working order.

Incidently, he takes Pay Pal and you can pay by credit card which was a big plus for me because I don't like sending checks or cash through the mail.

I already have 2 friends who are going to order from him once they get their tax refunds. I rarely write reviews, but Brian did what he said he would do, kept me totally in the loop as to when everything was occurring and delivered a great modded X Box at a fair price. I thought I'd help him out and help anyone who wants a modded X Box by hooking them up with him.

Check out Brian at http://shop.bmforums.com/ It isn't readily apparent that he offers hard drive upgrades on his modded boxes. You have to click on the "more information" button link to figure out that he offers you larger hard drive upgrades of all sizes (10 GB/80 GB/120GB/160GB/200GB/250 GB). He throws in a free fan upgrade with those which also was a big plus for me. Highly recommended.

ps - here are parts of some e-mails Brian sent me to keep me in the loop.
"just waiting for your HDD to come in. I imagine it will be shipping on Monday,Tuesday." Then a few days later
"your order has been shipped. Your tracking number is 0457xxxxx. You can track is via http://www.FedEx.com. "

Absolutely Excellent Seller!!!     biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

I highly recommend this seller. He has excellent customer service. He answered all my many e-mails within hours, if not minutes, and made a last minute change to my order with no problems whatsoever.

I purchased a new modded XBox with a 120GB HD shipped to California and could not be happier. I researched everywhere and could not find a seller with as much positive feedback, period. Not to mention his prices are THE most competitive of anyone around.

If your in the market, look no further... THIS is the place to go.

First, let me give thanks to Brian for his helpful support.  He has been great resource for someone new to the scene.

Now the specifics.

I contacted Brian about 2-3 weeks in advance of sending my xbox for modding.  He was responsive and friendly which made me comfortable enough to send a $300 piece of hardware (bought 11/01) through the mail.  I told him that I was going to provide the hard drive and he had no issues.  I finally got everything together and sent it off on a Tues (got to him on Thurs) and the turnaround time was as promised which is very important to me.

We had some issues with FedEx, but thankfully they got the to me the following Thurs.  Even though we hit a bump with shipping, Brian was there to cover answering a few frantic PMs.  Ten days total (with shipping) - more than acceptable.  The work was professional and my xbox came back in exactly the same condition as it left - plus a few choice additions.  wink.gif  Since I'm rather new to the whole modding scene, Brian has been very patient and consistent in answering my noob questions until I finally got on the right track.

I'm extremely satisfied with the whole experience and recommend Brian's services to anyone.

Order #262

I ordered a SmartXX last Thursday night and assumed it would ship Friday and get to me within 1-4 business days, but apparently it didn't ship until Monday and won't be arriving until Friday sad.gif

I chose to buy from BMMods because of all this great feedback, even though the price was a bit higher than other places. It's a little disappointing I won't be getting my chip until Friday (a full week after ordering, with 1-4 day shipping).

Other than that it's been a good place to buy, and if I were getting my Xbox modded by a shop I would definitely try BMMods again, but for ordering parts I'll probably go somewhere else unless the price is average or less.

If for some reason my chip comes tomorrow then I'll retract the bit about slow shipping smile.gif

cheesy99,

You ordered your modchip at 03:27:05 AM (GMT -6) on the 25th.  Your package was dropped off the same day as indicated on the tracking page.  For whatever reason, FedEx did not scan this until 5:42 am on the 26th (GMT -6).

Either way, the Estimated delivery date by FedEx is the 2nd, one day after the time FedEx was supposed to deliver.  Shipping from coast to coast, unfortunately, can cause randomly unexpected delays.

I appologize for FedEx not meeting their criteria.  I have sent you an email offering Free Shipping for your next purchase.

BMMods shipped your product out the same day it was ordered, just as we advertise shipping within 1 business day.  We hope you will accept the Free Shipping coupon as a token of our appreciation and continue to shop with us.

Thank you.

The reason it was slow at the end of the week is because we were setting up our booth and attending the Houston import show off so we did no shipping on thu and Friday. Everything from thu - Sun feel on Monday and Tuesday. Monday we shipped a total of 489 orders in 1 day and another 300 on tuesday. I don’t see bmmods doing that kind of volume. IF we had bmmods amount of orders to do we would also ship same day.

Also bmmods shipping is as such

2nd Day Shipping : $8
Overnight Shipping : $20

Our overnight is $5 cheaper than bmmods. No one has cheaper shipping rates than we do. If dhl didn’t get the package to you overnight let us know so we can file a service failure and refuns your shipping. We can do this every time they fail to get it there by 3pm. If that’s the case then shipping will be free for you.

Thanks for the honest review and I look forward in hearing back from you.

btw: pics of the show and the cars will be up soon.

SMT took 1st in best of show and best car stereo. 2 nice big tall trophies.

In the defense of BMMods:

QUOTE

Of course you don't see BMMods doing that kind of volume... you don’t have access to our order history.  BMMods ships items promptly and accurately, which is exactly what customers want .  If a company can't do that, then they simply don't have the man power to provide the service necessary.

What does a customer care what volume a company sells?  Customers want prompt delivery and great customer support.  You could have 3,000 orders a day, but if you cant ship them within the timeframe that the customer deems suitable (as well as promised by company policy), it's irrelevant what your volume is.  Don’t processes more orders then you can handle or employ more packers; period.

QUOTE

I'm proud to say, BMMods will never place our customers on the back burner simply because we are sponsoring some event completely unrelated to sales placed within our shop... along with that, BMMods will never take their entire packing staff to this event, inhibiting the sole responsibility of a retail shop; Shipping items ordered.

QUOTE

You've just reminded me... Current shipping discounts allow BMMods to ship overnight for $15.  Now you can proudly say, "No one has cheaper shipping rates then SMT and BMMods."  BMMods does not ship in envelopes, but rather in Sturdy Boxes. If we shipped in the envelopes and padded packs like SMT uses, we would be able to drop overnight shipping to about $12 dollars and 2nd day to around $7.

Either way, System-Mods is a great reseller. Biggest worry in this business is fraudulent companies (no need to name any, just look at feedback). You won’t find yourself in a credit card disputes with SMT; the company is sound and does business well. smile.gif

When I go to the bmmods' xenium spice mod product site (https://www.bmmods.c...&cat=262&page=1), it gives an option to buy "Hard drive upgrade kit" for $5.99. Any help appreciated.

I recently got burned when ordering from http://www.chipdealer.com/. So I was a little nervous about ordering online again. The order went through fine. It was completed, packed and shipped the same day. They e-mailed me a USPS tracking # but every time I tried to check it all it said was that the shipper has notified the USPS to expect the package for delivery. This made me very nervous. I called the USPS and they claimed they had not recieved the package yet. By this point I was ready to dispute the charges but I told myself I would give them 7 days. Today, Saturday I recieved the Chip in the mail.
My order was placed on 8-22-2005 and I recieved it on 8-27-2005. I am very happy with BMMODS but the USPS needs to fix their broken track and comfirm system. Now when I go to the USPS site it says the package has been delivered. Many thanks to BMMODS for doing what I paid them for they will have my business again.

My order was processed on Friday Nov 18th. As of today they still have not shipped the item. I emailed them on Tues the 22nd and have not gotten back a response. This is my first mod and the first time ordering from a modstore and I am really disappointed in their service. In the email I got from them after my order was processed it said it should ship in one business day, well I'm starting day three and nothing yet. I'm not sure why this store has gotten such good ratings.

When ordering with our free shipping service, we do not send out orders daily.  Only UPS orders are shipped daily.  However, your package will arive in the estimated time frame promised.

The email needs to be updated which I will do shortly, but upon checkout there is a section you can click to see when your order should arive.

I've had a VERY NEGATIVE experience with BMMods. I've ordered from them in the past and it was an excellent transaction and the shipping was fast however this time around they've been horrible... horrible enough that i'll never do business with them again and i'm not very picky at all. First of all on the site it says backorders are generally from 2-3 weeks- ok. well its been 2 months and finally they get the xecuter 3 in
stock. To add insult to injury on december 19th 2005 they charged my credit card the ($92.97) and today they send me an email saying my order was declined!!!!! I've waited 2 months and have been charged WTF!!! is wrong with BMMods??? BMMods has gone to shit since last year. Email me for a screenshot of my bank statement as proof that they charged me on Dec. 19th ([email protected]). Please do yourself and me a favor by never ordering from BMMods. It is ridiculous that I have to post my feedback on the forums. (I'm going to post on all of them including ** Links to Xbox Warez and Torrents **)

Order #14830

I ordered a chip from bmmods about a year ago, after my brother did the same and had great service. When my last xbox got stolen and I wanted to replace it, the first place to buy my chip again was from bmmods. The order was processed very quckly and shipped just as quick. I know that there were (are?) some issues with others receiving their items, but my experiences were great! I have some friends that are looking at a mod chip and I will point them directly to bmmods.

Order #14724

I'm very satisfied with the whole experience and recommend Brian's services to anyone. There was delay in completing my order, install of a SmartXX v3 and 300GB HDD upgrade but Brian kept me informed during the process. The work done was professional and he'll get my business again.

lookformeb.com is a helpful resource if you're like myself, new to the scene

Order #14861

I orderd a chip from bmmods on June 10th, which was labeled IN STOCK and said it would ship in 24-48 hours.  That's great, not in that big of a hurry, have another modded box with the first gen xecuter.  A few weeks go by and I finally receive a item shipped notice on the 25th.  13 days late but ok no rush.. a week goes by and USPS still says they have not received the item from the shipper, and still to this day has not:

420852819101805213907270787027

So on the 2nd of July I open a ticket at bmmods.info.  It would have been nice if they EVER had live support, but I have honestly never seen that online, and don't think it ever is.  I immediatelly receive Brian's canned response that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy for 2 minutes:

http://www.bmmods.in...a...ws&newsid=6

Note the date on the link also.  Looks like a lot has change in those 4 months  dry.gif  Over a week later and 3 responses from me in my ticket at bmmods.info and nothing but the original canned response from these guys.  My ticket is EZM-717752 incase anyone can light a fire under their ass.  Like I said when I submitted the ticket it would be nice if the link they sent me wasn't just a bunch of propoganda BS and they actually were honest when an item was out of stock.  I think everyone can agree that one lost sale because and item is out of stock and possible return business is much better than an angry customer never to return that will also influence others.  I'm currently working with BofA to reverse the fraudulent charge because I had gone through all the proper channels to resolve it.  I had looked through the forums before but just now noticed the shop review sections and thought maybe there is an easier way.

I spoke with Brian today and it seems my package was "misplaced" and is being shipped.  I'm glad it got resolved so quickly, but I'm wondering if my post had anything to do with it.  My backorder/out of stock comments are still valid though as it did take 3 weeks to ship the item out.  May want to confirm before you order just how long it will be as the pages always says 24-48 hours.  I think the problem is mostly with SmartXX, it's more apparent on other sites that label backorder properly that they aren't churning em out fast enough smile.gif

Thanks Brian..

Order number 14904:SmartXX v3 with solder-less kit.

I ordered from BMMods on 26-Jun-06. I only today (13-Jul-06) got an email saying that they shipped the product out. I only waited this long because in their help files, they say to wait 14 business days after shipping out before contacting them as that’s how long they half to wait to file with the post office. Since my naive self thought that processed meant shipped, I waited till today to go complain that I hadn’t received anything yet. Today though, there’s an email saying it just now shipped. WTF? Ships in 24-48 hours my ass. Today will be 12 business days, and that’s leaving out the 4th of July and 2 Saturdays.

BMMods was not the cheapest seller of what I wanted, but they had lots of good reviews. Now, I guess its time their reviews went down the same drain that their service went down. If you are offering things on back order, that’s fine, but list it as such so I can make an intelligent decision on whether to buy it or look for something else. I would not recommend BMMods to anyone else due to the deceptive ship times.

I eagerly await the arrival of the just shipped mod chip so I can praise or bitch some more.

This has been resolved within the support ticket (customer has no complaints):

"Some packages sent on the 26th seem to be lost. We are in the process of double checking our facilities to verify they are not misplaced there. If they are not, we will be checking with USPS. Overall, I will have a resolution come Thursday.  If the package was misplaced at our shipping center, I can either have it send via USPS 2-3 Day (free upgrade) or I can offer a full refund. Please let us know what you would like done."

"I haven't purchased elsewhere so anyway you could get me the product will work. Could you ship out my order again today by chance and if you do recover my pacakge just relabel it for another backorder? I bought a pretty standard set I'm sure, SmartXX LT OPX 2MB SE w solder kit."

"I had confirmed earlier today with USPS that they indeed misplaced your package and that it would be rerouted today. You should have the package shortly, no reshipping necessary. Hopefully this is acceptable."
-----------------

Now the tracking status as of today shows:
Label/Receipt Number: 4208 5281 9101 8052 1390 7270 7870 27
Detailed Results:

Bullet    Acceptance, July 12, 2006, 5:25 pm, MINNEAPOLIS, MN 55427
Bullet    Electronic Shipping Info Received *, June 26, 2006

-----------------

Yes, the order was originally shipped late, the package was lost, and now it has been rerouted by USPS as stated.

There was never any "bunch of propoganda BS" relating to the modchip actually being out of stock..  We are not selling products which we do not have in stock.. this includes backorders.

As of right now, most orders are shipping the same day.  Support inquries as being handled appropriately and the live support is being utilized.  Also, within the next few weeks we will no longer be using USPS 5-9 day service due to delivery issues.  We will be replacing this service with USPS 2-3 Day at no extra cost which includes signature confirmation.

I ordered a PS2 modchip (#15273) from BMMods 12 days ago, on the 6th. Payment was processed quickly and my card was charged but no shipping has been performed as of today, the 18th! After all the positive comments, I expected a little better than this.

I submitted a support ticket about this on the 14th and haven't had a reply yet. I'm incredibly disappointed in the lack of communication and their apparent inability to ship product after taking payment. I mean really, WTF?

Order #15306; I ordered two Xenium Gold chips.

I ordered on Monday, Nov. 6. They took my money very promptly, but my package has neither been shipped, nor has either of my tickets (CWK-967567 & JXX-241512) ever been responded to. I recently placed a third ticket (CWO-132525), asking to either ship my items immediately or refund my money. To this day (Thursday, Nov. 16) I have not heard a single thing in response to my attempts at contacting BMMods (including PMing lookformeb).

I honestly believe that this is a scam and don't really expect to ever get anything from BMMods. There inability to provide any information (address, name, et cetera; the website's domain is even managed through a proxy service: Domains by Proxy, Inc.) supports my belief that they are a scam. If I am mistaken I will return and say so. However, if a business cannot provide any reliable mode of communication (not even an email address), then I honestly don't want to give them my money.

I will update my situation honestly at some point in the future.

Order id:   #15305
Order date:   Sunday, November 5, 2006 20:42:10
2x Xenium Gold

I've ordered twice before from bmmods.com and had no problems (the last one around Oct. 13th 2006).  This order (Nov. 5) was processed by my credit card company on Nov. 5th (according to the e-mail I got from bmmods.com).  According to the bmmods.com website, it says that orders are shipped out twice a week.  As of today (Nov. 17), bmmods.com still has not shipped my order.

In order to follow this up, I sent an e-mail on 11/15 to them (via their help website).  I too got the standard canned response that they would respond.  As of today, I have sent in 5 more help tickets and have received nothing but the canned response from each one.

I have checked their 'Live Support' web option all hours of the day (7am until 11pm MT) and have yet to see this option available.

There is no way other than the website to contact them as far as I can tell.

At this point, I would recommend NOT using this vendor.

Order #15302
I ordered 2 ghost2 modchips from bmmods.com on 11/2 it is now 11/20 (12 business days) and I have received nothing. They charged my card on 11/3 and I have already opened 2 separate tickets in their support system with no reply to either one. My order has said processed since 11/3 and I haven't gotten any email about shipping. I have also tried to PM lookformeb (I assume this is the buy that runs bmmods.com) with no results as well. I have to say it is really disappointing that a place with such good feedback can give such horrible service. Does anyone know what the deal is? Has anyone received any order from bmmods in the last month?

See my post above - I am having the same exact problem.  I still haven't received mine, nor am I able to communicate with Brian - the sole person at this company.  Please let me know if you have any success.

Order #15338
Date: Monday, November 27, 2006 20:04:39

I've been "Processing" for 6 days now. The item I ordered was a Globe360. It says the items are usually shipped within 24-48 hours. Is there a way to just cancel the order and get a refund? I would've ordered elsewhere if I knew I would have to wait so long. I hope I'm not getting scammed...

I recently placed an order on the site and have not received my shipment nor any information regarding the status of my order. I have submitted a support ticket to their site, emailed the sales department, and pm'ed lookformeb as I read he is the owner of the site but have not received any response. I would like to know if anybody has dealt with them before and would you have any suggestions for me in my situation.

thanks,
nasser
