Placed an order on chipdealer.com August 26th, just before the overhall of their site.  Ive sent numerous email's asking for details on my order & if the website change will affect my order, with no response.  Figured Id give chipdealer.com a shot, since they have reasonable prices, and seemed to be very organized, I hope I am not proven to be wrong.  Will update as order progresses.   <

order number 506
i ordered a Duo2 SE for my PS2 on aug 28th
it's now sept 14 and i do not have it, nor has it been shipped
i have been sending them emails and they usually reply with a "we don't kno y ur chip hasn't been shipped, we'll get it out ASAP" and then nothing
if there's a payment problem, they haven't told me, but there shouldn't be since i used PayPal
i'm ready to contact my CC company and get a refund which would piss PayPal right off for the future dealings with chip dealer
i don't want to do it, but i think waiting 2 weeks for a little chip with no real explanation is ridiculous
i understand ur backed up, but i thought as of sept 8 everything was getting shipped ASAP?
i've been more than patient and fair  <

order 506
placed it August 28th
it's september 15th
i've received a few emails with little to no explanation
it should not take 3 weeks to ship one chip
and if it were to, i deserve a reason whywho ever replied to me last told me i deserve compensation...
but it seems as if i'm lucky to even get a reply back lately, my latest emails have not been replied to...
i have been patient, this is garbage
please post this

UPDATE:

my chip finally got to me on October 1st...
i did come into contact with RoT who helped me out greatly and completely refunded my money and sent me my chip
for that, i give thumbs up
but one month for a chip is a bit much, hopefully this will not reoccur
best of luck to the rest of you

I ordered something from these guys a week ago (not as long as others, I realize), and I don't mind waiting.  What really bugs the hell out of me is the fact that I have sent them several emails with absolutely NO reply whatsoever.  No automatic "thanks for your input", nothing.  It's like I'm writing emails into a giant black hole.  If I don't get a response of some kind by monday, I'm withdrawing my payment and moving on.  How hard is it to repsond to an email? <

hey,

i finally figured out how to get in touch with these guys.

Their mailserver is all fucked up because a spammer was using it as a relay, and thus their messages aren't getting through.

If you want to get in touch with them, it's #chipdealer on EFnet.

I was very frustrated by the lack of contact, but they're nice guys and took care of me well once i finally got in touch with them.

Cheers <

I pre-ordered my x3 from chipdealer.com around the month of August. The free shipping they offered was definitely a good deal. There always right on top of everything and there shipping is always on schedule. I recomend chipdealer to alot of people looking to buy xbox products. Especially the new X3 beacause you want someone handling your product that knows what there doing. www.teamxecuter.com clearly shows that they are official resellers! That is how I came to find such a great company. Props to chipdealer and there staff for the fast deliverys and great products! A+++++   biggrin.gif

The entire thread of us related to Hackers Hardware and those issues are total BS, The HH website was sold 6 months before the first issue had ever been reported.

We had nothing to do with the buyer complaints.. The people who ran it afterwords ran it into the ground"

We have shipped pre-orders for Xecuter 3 and have them in stock and shipping. We have an entire new support ticket system and new staff.

All of our inventory is in stock and when it is not, it is now noted specifically on the site. We are here because of the dealer greed to provide the best products for less and more customer service.

We appologize for any confusion when merging to our new server, shopping cart system, and staff and all orders are now running smooth.

If anyone has any problems they can contact me at Directly [email protected] I will respond within 2-3 hours. Thank you.. Chipdealer Manager.

Chipdealer.com is a dream come true.  With all the different selections of modchips out there, Chipdealer has got to be the most innovative and professional mod chip service.  Not only is it efficient on shipping, but its friendly on prices and extremely helpful when I need help.  Their dedication to providing the best among on the services out there are second to none.  It really shows when you put that much effort into creating such a full product for the customer.  I have purchased both an xbox and a ps2 from chipdealer.com.  I am more than pleased at the quality and how fast their shipping was.

Best site out there.  No need for imitations.  Best quality and prices.

I preorded an xecuter 3 when chipdealers first started adverising free fast shipping. So it was awhile till they received the chips but the day they received them I was in the channel and RoT was real friendly and helpful about info on the chips and they shipped it out that day and I recieved it two days later. So overall experience with chipdealers I give them two thumbs up and I will use them for all my future xbox modding needs.

Ordered a xenium and a hard drive on 7th september
Paid with paypal, I'm registred user so my adress and name is valid.
Even had emailcontact with them on the same day, asking them to sent it as a gift.

Because I hadn't recieved my package (I Live in Europe) I sent them an email today in which I asked for progress.
I got an email back in which they asked for my ordernumber and the items I ordered.
I send the number today on which I got an email that due to fraud (???) they cancelled all the international orders.

This is 3 weeks after I ordered. No emails before I contacted them

You can tell I'm totally not satisfied.
And I cannot recommend this company

very nice to deal with .. highly recommended.

I ordered a 2.6 Lite Solderless during the X3 rush .. It was mailed out on Friday night and I received it Wed. morning via USPS.

They're always around on mIRC to answer questions, very quick to respond to emails.  The guy even told me if my item wasn't shipped out within 2 business days that they would give me a 19.95 skin of my choice as a gift!
Didn't get the skin because they're too damn efficient .. lol

I'm a happy customer and I'd definitely order through them again.

special tnx to RoT for the excellent service

ok FINALLY got my chip in

There apparently was a huge delay in the shipment of chips (being held by customs)

n e ways, after talking to NICOTINE`  (apparently helpen wiht chipdealer canadian orders) told me about the problem, and personally took $$ outta his pocket to fix this error in shipping, i am GREATLY happy with there service, its nice to see sumone dig in there own pocket to get people there item, i totally take back everything i said earlier about this site, this is a GREAT site, im sure this one bad shipment wont happen again, and will be buying from them again, best prices, and VERY VERY VERY good support (when u know where to look for it) #chipdealer on mirc

NICOTINE ur the best man, the day after u told me u shipped it, i got it in the mail, ur the best!!

and there WAS an error in my order...but im happy with the error, so im not gonna say n e thing about it  biggrin.gif

lets just say the long wait was WELL WELL worth it! beerchug.gif

and ROT (i guess owner of chipdealer) nicotine does a sweet ass job man, i'd be glad to have sumone like him helping me out if i had a killer site like yours  laugh.gif

aight im outta here, time to install both my chips (hehehhe oops i gave away the error)

I ordered a 250gig hd on Sep 16th because of the great deal.

A week later I hadn't received any emails since the receipt email which was auto generated. I asked the guy on IRC and he said it shipped the previous day. Two weeks later, still nothing so I asked him again and after a few emails he told me he shipped it that day by UPS 2 DAY Air. A week later and still nothing. I emailed him again and no reply yet (that's 3 days ago). So a whole month after I've ordered and NOT A DAMN THING! However, my credit card has been charged the full amount the day I ordered it. So unless I get some kind of refund or finally some day get the product I would've just wasted $132. Out of the dozens of orders I've made on the internet, this would definitely have to be the worst experience. BTW my order number is 572.

UPDATE: I've received a full refund, so I'm feeling pretty good. Needless to say, never will I consider thinking about thinking (not a typo) about buying another product from any site even related to them again. But I got a 250gig drive for $109 from Outpost (which quickly sold out), so I'm happy now.

Overall, a good experience.  Ordered an Xecuter3 from chipdealer, and got it about 3 days later.  I can't complain on that part, but I did send an e-mail the day before I received the chip asking for shipping status.  I didn't receive a reply from a person, but instead received an automated e-mail asking to use their new online support system.  I'm guessing that the site is in the middle of transferring all support to the online component, but I think it still would have been nice to have received a reply.  Other than that, quick turnaround  laugh.gif

I ordered 5 X3 chips on Oct 9th, 2004
Amount:  $282.50 USD through Paypal.
Order 1338

I have not received a tracking# and scheduling a local pickup keeps getting delayed day after day after day.  First I was supposed to pick it up along with a  larger bulk order Sat Oct 16th, then they pushed it to Monday, then Tuesday, then Wed, then Thurs.....

I would just like my money back NOW for the 5 X3 mad.gif
I've asked several times now for this refund but have yet to receive my money back.

I will edit my review accordingly once I receive the refund for the 5 X3 of $282.50 USD

Order 1338

-----------------
Update: I received my refund shortly after posting this negative feedback.  It's unfortunate though since I lost over $20 due to the USD dropping in value from the time they took my money on Oct 9th.  To the time I fnally got my refund Oct 21st.

It looks like the only basis for Team Xecuter giving out official xecuter reseller status is buying power.  If a reseller can fork over enough money to purchase 3000-5000 chips per month, that's good enough for them.  Dependable customer service is clearly not a criteria where Chipdealer is concerned.

update 10/27 - i recieved the credit to my visa today from CONSOLES INTERNATIONAL; it would be interesting to find if they have used other dba names in the past. today marks 3 weeks since my order and it was simply wasted time. now i will do some research to find a better mod-CHIPDEALER.

10/24 - rec'd email from [email protected] notifying me that my credit card had been refunded, but i will not know if this is true for a few more days. bottom line is that the emails i received were far from upfront and professional. do not trust this seller! their claim of fast free shipping is bogus!!

----------------------------------------------------------------
chip order #1193
two xecuter3 chips
credit card was charged $120.25 on 10/6/04

summary - it has been 10 days since my chip was supposedly going to be sent from san marcos, california(i live in same state). unfortunately, i am less than satisfied and it looks like i have been ripped off, but if i get a response from them here in the forums and everything works out in the end, i am willing to be wrong!!! i have been ripped off before, but you can bet i will not be this time.

here are the only emails i have received... if chipdealer.com is serious, they would not send out mass bcc emails to begin with and they would reply with honesty instead of this bs. i have sent another email since, but nothing else has been received except the original email indicating my order and visa charge.

i guess i was in too much of a hurry when i replied yesterday morning. i could have included my order #1193, but i was trying to get out of the house for an overnight trip as well as surprised and concerned by your email since my order was for $120.

in any event, seems to me like your reply could have said: "if you did pay, then none of this info is needed because your chip is already on the way." however, i assume that must not be the case.

i request a reply by monday evening to let me know the status my order #1193.

* Your shipping address for the two Xecuter 3 chips

It’s very possible you ordered once just to check prices or anything, and then ordered again and this time went through with the payment.

In any case, if you did pay and you respond quickly then your order will be out today. It may have already been shipped to you but I need more information such as the order number.

Thanks,

Joshua

Subject: Re: Your order on ChipDealer.com

my credit card was charged by you 3 days ago for 2 xecuter3 chips @ $120.25 total so you must be mistaken(the transaction number according to my credit card is #xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx). however, i also have not received a shipping email yet so there must be some reason why. the 5% discount would be cool, but the chips delivered to my door would be cooler. today is saturday and as you already mentioned, it is a holiday weekend, i hope you can figure this out and send my chips today. 6 days after an order is placed(tuesday) is a not what i consider fast shipping; even if it is free. please respond today and let me know when i can expect my order or i will be inclined to contact my credit card company and take action to chargeback the order.

hope this helps you figure it out-
joseph

Subject: Your order on ChipDealer.com

Hi, recently you have tried to order on ChipDealer.com.

It looks like your order may not have gone through successful. If you have ordered successfully since then, this e-mail isn’t for you. If you were having problems, let us know and we’ll be happy to help you.

The reason I’m writing to you is because we are having a huge sale for Columbus Day and want your business. Right now, we are giving 5% off your entire order when you enter “Columbus” as a coupon. We’d like to remind you that Xecuter 3 has free shipping and our prices are always low.

We are accepting PayPal until Monday. On Monday, we will start accepting both PayPal and Credit Cards using LinkPoint.

Feel free to check out our site and don’t worry, we are only e-mailing you to check on why your order was unauthorized. There are no lists and you won’t be contacted again unless you respond or place an order.

Thank you!

Joshua

Placed order #1899 for one Xecuter3 on around 12:30PM on  10/18/2004.  I went with ground shipping.  Paid via PayPal (verified address).  I never received a confirmation email from chipdealer.  Over the last two days I have sent emails to address on the website and the paypal address and have yet to receive a response.  Jumped into their channel on IRC and left RoT a message this evening.  Hopefully he will response.  At the very latest I would expect to receive my order this coming Monday so I am not panicking yet.  I will post another update when I have one.

Placed my order on 10/15 (#1761)...received it 7 days later via postal service 1st class on 10/22. Sent 3-4 emails to all of their email addresses during that time regarding shipping status since I didn't receive a receipt (other than paypal). I received the first response on Saturday 10/23.

Unfortunately, the package was missing the pin header and now I'm waiting for another response as to how to go about resolving this. mad.gif

I definitely don't think this was worth saving a couple bucks.

I will update my post to let you know how the service is regarding the replacement part.

so here's my log of my chat with Modiller regarding my missing pinheader with my X3.

<Modiller`> you can buy pinheaders
<Modiller`> if its that big of a deal
<Modiller`> or do wire install
<zerokills> the pinheader is supposed to come with it though and I really don't want to do wire install
<Modiller`> well then tell RoTt
<Modiller`> you'll prob have to end up sending the whole thing back
<Modiller`> shipping alone will be more then how much a pinheader costs lol
<Modiller`> there like 50 cents
<zerokills> oh...just thought you were with chipdealer.com
<Modiller`> i am
<Modiller`> but im saying
<Modiller`> you'll probably have to send the whole thing back
<Modiller`> PM RoT
<Modiller`> and let him know
<zerokills> where can I get one then...if they're only .50
<Modiller`> radio shack
<Modiller`> count the lpc holes and get one that size
<zerokills> hmm...somethin new everyday.
<Modiller`> ok then PM RoT
<Modiller`> and tell him
<Modiller`> i dont know what you expect me to do..
<zerokills> I'll check my local radio shack and go from there
* Logging Modiller` to 'logs\Modiller`.EFnet.log'
End of Modiller` buffer    Mon Oct 25 20:04:02 2004

As you can see, it seems they really don't care. Another user told me they took his paypal payment and then banned him from #chipdealer

I ordered an X3 on Oct 2nd and received a "Thank you for your order" email the same day. Several days pasted and didn't get anything confirming shipment of order. Had to catch one of their guys on the online support chat on the website, said it had been shipped a few days earlier. Time pasted and still nothing. Sent couple more emails and finally got a reply from Josh reconfirming it was shipped. Recieved my chip on Oct 21.

In the end I did recieve my chip, but I wasn't too thrilled with the lack of reply to order status emails and the length of time it took to get here (nearly 3 weeks seems a little long, even for Canada).

My advice....let the buyer beware.

PayPal finds Chipdealer at fault

The following is my experience with Chipdealer.com.  I am writing this simply to share with others my experience.  I will attempt to be as objective as possible and let you draw your own conclusions as to what kind of company chipdealer is.  If you are reading this you have probably read other posts in the forum and have a good overall idea of other people's thoughts/experiences in the matter:

Like a lot of people here, I was eagerly awaiting the release of the Xecuter3.  I did not pre-order my chip because I was unsure yet of the no-solder options.  Finally, after the installation tutorials had been released I decided I could solder my own chip, as I have (limited) experience soldering in the past.

So, I went to teamxecuter.com to look at the authorized list of dealers.  I went through the top few and came to Chipdealer.  It appeared to be a good deal at $59 with FREE FAST SHIPPING.  So, on Sunday, 10/9/04 I placed my order.  I received a confirmation e-mail shortly stating:

"We will be in touch as soon as possible about your order, the details of which are as follows:"

The e-mail listed my cost:  $59 for the chip and $2.25 for "handling."  No information about when my item would be shipped was available, and I assumed by the wording of the statement above, that I would be notified soon.

Now, in my opinion (and yours may differ), when you order an item that is supposed to have FAST SHIPPING, the following should be true:  It should SHIP (as in leave the seller) within 48 hours and be shipped using a 2-3 day shipping method.  This means that in the worst case scenario (with weekends included) you should have your item within 5 days.

Ordering my item on Sunday afternoon 10/9, I expected to have my item by the following Friday.

On Monday (10/11) evening I still had no new contact from the seller about shipment.  I decided to e-mail them asking for an update.

I received an automated response saying:

"Hi and thank you for e-mailing ChipDealer.com. We have got your e-mail and you should have a response within 24 hours."

Needless to say by Tuesday night (10/12) , I had no response.  I went onto their web site to try their "new support system" and sent a message through there asking for status.  I received the following e-mail:

"This is an automated response to inform you that your question has been received, and added to our system."

As of today, 10/27, this message is still unanswered.
By Wednesday (10/13), my item should have already left the seller and have been on it's way.  But I found this was not the case...

I finally made it on to IRC #Chipdealer.  I am an IRC user, but I find it absolutely ridiculous for a company to require the installation and learning of a piece of software just to get answers as to the status of an order.  I should have not had to go to these lengths to talk to someone...but I did.

I spoke with RoT who told me (in summation):
1) That they had PayPal issues
2) That they had inventory problems
3) That my item was shipping very shortly (as in ready to go today)

I asked RoT if he wouldn't mind changing my shipping address to reflect my home address rather than work, since I would not be at work on Sat (no deliveries) and if the chip was shipping 2-3-day on Thursday then it should arrive by Saturday My conversation with RoT was harrowing, because he was obviously busy doing other things (?) but every response from him took 10+ minutes to receive and the conversation stopped and started several times throughout the day.  He then said he needed to go, and that I should message (/msg) him instructions on what to do.

So I left notification for him to change the shipping address to my home, as well as left my e-mail address to contact me if he had any problems and/if he was able to accomplish this.

I never got a response.

On Friday I went onto #Chipdealer again.  Messaged RoT and was told that the item shipped yesterday (10/14).  I asked him where he shipped it and he said to my work address!

"Damn."  I said, upset that he had not changed it to my home address (note: although I was upset, I do not entirely fault them for this, as they shouldn't be expected to have to change an address after an order was placed.  However, because of their delays I felt they could/should do it on good faith).

"What's wrong?" he answered, "We can change it"

Now HOW? I ask you could he change the shipping address if the item was already shipped?  I began to get very very suspicious.  When I confronted him with this question I didn't get a response for several minutes, I then needed to sign off to get back to work.  So I was still mystified by his statement.

However, upon arriving home from work Friday (10/15) I did have an e-mail from PayPal stating that there was shipment information posted to USPS.  I was slightly relieved.  However when checking out the tracking number that was sent me, all the USPS site returned to me was something along the following lines:

"The seller has notified us that we will be receiving a shipment"

I lost the exact wording, but basically it infered that USPS did not necessarily receive a shipment.  They were simply notified that a shipment would be on its way to them.  (My assumption is if you use their online system you can enter in a shipment order and say it is on it's way).

Lets skip through the weekend, as obviously I wasn't getting the chip on Friday.  Come Monday afternoon (10/18) I still had not received the chip.  This is now 9 days after my order with FAST SHIPPING.

By Tuesday (10/19), no chip.  This is 5 days after I was told the item shipped (4 not counting Sunday...no mail).

I decided to have another talk with RoT, so I went onto #Chipdealer.  I was obviously a little peeved so I asked him straight-forward, but politely, how Chipdealer can promise the shipping they do when they clearly cannot comply?  I asked him how, even with the alleged problems they had (mentioned above), they can have such shoddy customer communication?

RoT gave some more excuses.  He said the item was shipped 2 day and I will have it. (note: there is no such thing as 2-day USPS, priority mail is 2-3 days).  At this point, just telling me the item was shipped and I would receive it was not going to placate me.

Then RoT tried to appease me.  He apologized (again) and offered perhaps he can send me a free skin, or half-off my next chip.  Now I admit that those seem to be nice gestures, but honestly, why would I want to continue to do any business with a company that treated their customers with such disregard?  I let him know this.

I told RoT that unless I received the item by tomorrow (10/20...11 days after ordering with FAST SHIPPING) that I would have to refuse the order, contest the PayPal charges, post my experience on the forums, and report them to the BBB.

RoT's reply was along these lines:
1) That I was a WHINING BABY
2) That I got a GOOD DEAL cause they were giving FREE SHIPPING (remember I still paid $2.25 for "handling"...where was it "handled?"..never to me!) and that should make up for the fact that they are having problems and I haven't gotten my chip yet.
3) That FAST SHIPPING simply means the method they use to ship the item.  That it does not include how quickly the item leaves the seller (by that rational I can pay $20 for overnight shipping, and have them send it out 2 weeks later overnight?!?!).
4) That I don't need to refuse my package, because he was going to CANCEL DELIVERY (an empty threat, as you can't cancel a USPS parcel once it has been sent.  This only furthered my belief that the item never shipped).

Then what does RoT do?  He kicks me from #Chipdealer and bans me from entering the room again with the following message:

"Banned (Fu**ing Dips**t)"  - The asterisks are mine...he was not as polite.

So now, Wednesday 10/20 rolls around and guess what... NO CHIP!  Surprised?  I wasn't.

Here is a summary of what has happened since then:

- I went onto PayPal Wednesday and filed a dispute.
- I drove an two-hours (round trip) to see ModChipMan on Wednesday after work to pick up a chip from him for $59
- A package from Chipdealer finally reached my Office on Monday 10/25 and was REFUSED on my request (over 2 weeks after order was placed).
- PayPal notified me that they are refunding my money on Tuesday 10/26 with the following notes:

"We have determined that the seller is at fault...we will take appropriate action against the seller in this case. Actions may include issuing a warning, a temporary limitation, or terminating their account."

Now, I doubt Chipdealer will have their account terminated, or even suspended for this one infraction, but it just goes to show that PayPal is on my side and they note that Chipdealer behaved fraudulently.

Also, please note that the item finally reached my office approx. 3 days after I filed a complaint with PayPal.  That seems curious to me.  Perhaps Chipdealer did not actually ship my chip 2-day delivery until I actually filed a complaint over a week and a half after my order was placed?  This is just speculation, I will let you decide.

So what did I learn during this experience?  That Chipdealer, although you may eventually receive an ordered product from them, acts deceptively in their dealings with customers.

I would never do business with them again based on my experience and those of others I have read in the forums.

So where am I now?  After purchasing my chip from ModChipMan (good guys!) Wednesday night (10/20).  I struggled to solder it into my X-Box (boy those installation diagrams sure are magnified!).  Quite a few hours (and some FRAGs later) my chip is working.  My new 250GB drive is installed, my BIOS is updated and my dashboards are installed.  All this was done with the fine help of the information posted on these sites.

If you are a newbie, I highly recommend searching the forums, all the information IS there!  Also, if you have never soldered before, have someone do it for you.  Regardless of what a lot of these people say, it is more difficult then it appears.  Don't think your first soldering job can be to put an X3 in.  If you insist on doing it yourself, practice heavily on similar components (read: pin header).  However, for the price you would pay for some spare parts from RadioShack, you might as well pay someone to put it in!

Good luck to all and Caveat Emptor!

-b

P.S.  I'm done with Chipdealer and this ordeal.  I don't care if this is replied to in any positive or negative means. I simply provide it to the community as a report of my experience.  Any responses to this post will most likely go unanswered by me since I have already stated ALL the facts herein.

Order 1677

I sent them my xbox to have an X3 and a hdd installed.  Fedex says they got it last monday.  they said it would take a week to do and a day to ship (i am 30 miles away).  No one has returned my emails since they got my dough.  I can see it taking longer than they said but they could at least tell me they got my box.  Waiting till the weekend then i am going out there.

This went off to the never never yesterday, but anyway ...

Order 1426 went in last week. Accepted via Paypal, money withdrawn from account - so "someone" has record of the transaction.

Trying to contact chipdealer, but unable to reach website .... weird.

All I want is my X3 sad.gif

After talking to RoT over IRC (EFNET, #Chipdealer channel), my chip finally shipped last week ... and arrived at the wrong address on Friday. Not Chipdealers fault - everything was correctly addressed. Our pot head postman has a hard time realising that the letter box out side my house, with my house numbers actually should get the letters addressed to me. Instead he delivered it next door (residential neghbourhood, its not like a close packed apartment complex - he is just brain dead).

As far as I can see, everything arrived in tact.

So --- order placed 12 Oct. Order arrived 29 Oct.

I'm not unhappy about the transaction, because I wasn't in any great hurry. I am dissatisfied with the communication involved with the process though.

IRC should not be used as a substitute for customer service or email. Nuff said.

Rav182001 - jump onto EFNET and message RoT or whatnot in the #Chipdealer room. My understanding is that  a number of premods went out last week. Be civil or you will get bumped.

Oh well - time to pull apart my Xbox, find out which version it is (suspect 1.4) and get soldering. Wonder if my boss will notice if I am not online dry.gif

Chipdealer.com can't be beat - These guys really take care of you - and it’s a welcome change to finally deal with people who actually know what their talking about!  At first I ordered my X3 chip from them just because they had the best price - and they do, with free shipping by the way!  But it turns out that the guys are also really helpful and knowledgeable which makes a customers life much easier.  I highly recommend dealing with them.

Thanks to Modiller, PhiSqaure, and the rest of the guys for putting up with me - and my stupid 1.6b!

Track & Confirm

Current Status

You entered 0180 5213 9075 8875 4689

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on November 12, 2004 to expect your package for mailing. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

This is exactly what it has said since you first sent the tracking number and this and your paypal email do nothing to assure me that this package has been sent.  Please get back to me soon as I am tired of worrying about this.

Sincerely,"

Just to update...still no chip.  They still look at their website, it shows that it has been completed, but the USPS.com tracking number still shows that the order was expected for shipment.  Not that it actually shipped.  I am so irritated with this company.  On 11/12 they said it would be 2-3 day shipping.  Now it is 11/29 on an order placed 11/5 and still no Chip and a bunch of unfullfilled promises from someone on their IRC channel that said he saw it didn't go out and that he would message his shipping department to get it out.

I am so unhappy with these people.

Does anyone know how to contact chipdealer.com?  It's been two weeks and no update from them.  The last contact I had with them was a dead link for an update on the X3 I ordered. I ordered my HD from them a couple months ago and they were very quick and very good with their updates.  I'm concerned right now b/c I cant get ahold of them and they have yet to respond to me.

Order # 2658. I finally got a hold of RoT on the #chipdealer channel, and my order was issued another tracking number and I was told that I would have it by this Friday 12/04/2004, after ordering it on 11/04/2004.

Unfortunately, I am travelling Friday morning so I will not be able to see if it actually arrives. If I see any movement on the tracking information at USPS.com I will not file a paypal complaint, but so far all I see is that they "expect" my package to be shipped.

This is all I have seen for a month. They have said on the chipdealer site that the order has been completed on 11/12, and then again on 11/29, and it was assigned a tracking number each of these times, but I have seen no evidence to date that it has ever been shipped. Hopefully new information will post at USPS.com this evening or tomorrow. Tomorrow night, if there is no change I have to file the paypal complaint to try to obtain the funds I used to pay for this.

Chipdealer also did not do anything to try to make me feel better about waiting a month, writing a ton of emails, wasting a ton of time on their IRC site, and wasting a ton of time on these boards. No refund, no offer of a new switch or lcd. Nothing. At this point I just hope to see a change on the USPS.com tracking site and that I get my chip.

They are also doing business as a California corporation, but everyone on their IRC channel says they are in Hong Kong and just "LOL's" about it like it is the funniest thing. They basically laugh at you if you are having a problem with them on that channel. They are ill equipped to deal with anyone and I have a hugely sour taste in my mouth from this entire transaction. I advise everyone to go elsewhere to look for your chips and modification supplies.

I will post again with an outcome. 28 days and counting.

i ordered a X3 from them last month, i think i ordered it on a thursday, and i had the chip in my mailbox the following monday.  I dont see whats so bad about them, i have now ordered a Xlcd from them and i have been talking to Rot on #chipdealer on efnet and they seem pretty legit.  But if i just got lucky the first time i sure hope i get lucky again this time.  Rot told me that my chip will be shipped today and that i should recieve it tomorrow or saturday 'cause i guess i only live 2 hours away from them.  I will post back when i get my Xlcd.

I've been modded since the xecuter one was hot. i've been through almost all the big chip resellers. i've had some good and some bad experiences, for sure.
i ordered an x2.6, an x3 and an xlcd from chip dealer last monday. When i got it, it was missing the x3. i've been doin the whole online shopping thing for a while, and i understand ish happens. so, i got on #chipdealer and talked to rot. (cool channel to just kick it and chat in too, btw). he was pretty busy, but he did help me out quite a bit. it was kinda hard to tell if he was being serious or joking half the time, but that's cool, that's how i am.
anyway, after a bit of talking and all that, he said i'd prolly have my chip by saturday. heres hopin.
i'd recommend chipdealer.com to anyone who isnt in a hurry. run by a bunch of guys that don't mind chattin with you.
they were willing to work with me, and hopefully everything will work out

100% SATISFIED

ordered my chips directly from one of the bosses, 20 chips in total, payed for overnight delivery on the 15th, got my chips on the 16th

awesome service, couldn't say anything bad about them

i hope that the rest of you guys work out your problems with Chipdealer, and for those of you who were actually told to take it up with chipdealer, don't be lazy, get off ur ass and do it

if an account got frozen or closed down becuz of someone's death, you should win the case almost GUARANTEED as long as you conduct yourself right

i was ripped off by a company once, took it up with PayPal, it took a couple of months but i got my money back, and all i had to do was write a couple of emails

so, good luck to all, and don't go telling people you got ripped off until Pay Pal has ruled in your favour at least

I placed an order on Dec. 15th; it's Christmas Eve and still no-show. I've sent numerous e-mails and received vague, seemingly automated responses. I definately will not be dealing with these people again and might end up having to file with my credit card company if I don't receive anything soon. I'll keep everyone updated.

Time to pay IRC a visit...

First of all, I ordered from cd because they guaranteed delivery by Christmas if I ordered my chip by Dec 20th......well, that didn't work!

Ordered the Xecuter 3 & Pro Switch on 12/13 (order #4222).
Got an email saying it shipped on 12/16 and I should receive it within 3-4 days.
I still have not received my order and it's after Christmas now.

This was a Christmas present for my son.  If I had known they were not going to live up to their promise of delivery before Christmas, I would have ordered from someone else.

Hello,

I'm coming to this thread after receiving no reponse to 2 emails sent to [email protected] and one email sent through the chipdealer.com "contact us" form.

I ordered an XLCD through you.  The Order # was 4054.

The chip arrived fine, but after installation I saw that many of the characters on the bottom line of the LCD screen were missing pixels, so much that you can't really read the characters.  I need to exchange this XLCD for one that isn't defective.  Please respond to me so we can arrange the exchange.

Hi,

I'm coming to this thread after receiving no reponse to 3 seperate emails (2 to [email protected], one generated through the "contact us" form on your web site).

My order id is 4054.  I ordered an XLCD.  The LCD arrived fine, however when I hooked it up I saw that all of the characters on the bottom line are missing a significant # of pixels which makes them impossible to read.  I need to exchange this defective XLCD for another one.

Please respond, otherwise I'll soon have no recourse other than to initiate a chargeback on my credit card.

I ordered a X3 with them 3 days ago and paid for 1-2 day delivery, I have tried to contact them by email, chat and phone but there is no answer. What is the point of charging more for shipping when you will not recieve it that fast.

OMG... DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

ORDER # 4400

I ordered a pre-modded xbox from them on dec 17th.  My order total was over 300 bucks.  I called someone in the sales dept after i placed the order to verifiy that it would shipped before xmas.  I told him that it was a christmas gift and he said no problem.  I went the entire week of xmas thinking it was on its way.  Then, on christmas eve i get a nice little email telling me that it wasnt even shipped yet, and probable wasnt going to be for "the next 8-12 days".  It REALLY pissed me off that couldnt give me call to even tell me it wasnt going to be there on time.  What the hell do they take your phone number for anyway?  Hold on, story is not over yet.  So then, the following week i was pissed.  I called them and told them they sucked and to cancel my order and refund my money.  Two freaking weeks later, no credit to my account.  They refuse to answer the phone or any emails.  So you know what?  I called my bank to file a fraud claim against them.  My bank will refund my 313 dollars in five days and i hope they give chipdealer.com hell.  F U chipdealer!

DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE GUYS. Here's something I wrote about them, i have been totally scammed by these guys.

Getting kicked and banned from every console channel on efnet is what provoked me to finally get around and write this.

I can honestly say these people are the biggest bunch of lowlifes in the ps2 scene. The extent of it is incredible.

Lets start out with my experiance with chipdealer

I save up the money for a ps2 modchip + install, during this time I hang around in chipdealers irc channel. I asked about getting my ps2 repaired, then a install + a modchip. They said that I would get this repair for FREE. So I finally get the money together, and order my modchip + installation.

Now all i need is the shipping information, I wait a few days. No emails regarding shipping info.
- At this point the begging begins, it's the only way I've got anything from chipdealer-
So day after day I ask if I can get shipping information evertime I see a mod. Either they ignore me, start answering me then suddenly go idle (suprise), and finally I ask if I can just cancel my order if i'm not going to get my stuff. And what do you know, I get the shipping information! So I dish out the money for shipping.
This is the smooth part, my package arrives with them.
After more than the time they said it would take (2 days) i get an email from them stating that they could not repair my ps2 (this operation was stated to be free, remember?). And that I could get a refund on it. Now there is no information on how to get this MAGIC REFUND in the email. So I head to the IRC channel.

Over the time of begging for this refund I hear a lot of different things from the CD "staff" . I heard that they will be giving me a 50% refund, then I heard they'd refund me the modchip money, then i heard they'd send me the modchip. None of these was a full refund. Now I would have glady accepted the first 2 offers, but once again, the staff suddenly stopped answering me.

And from that time on I am at the stage I'm currently at, begging for the refund.

So everyday I make it a point to go in and ask for a refund, and I still havent recieved it. Now the channel requires a voice to speak, so I have to wait an eternity to get +v, and then I ask.

Now it's gotten to the point where it's not even that important about the money, just about how I much I hate the lowlife scum that run it. I was in #ps2 when someone asked what a good place to order modchips was, I said a site I respected, someone else said chipdealer. I recommended he not order from chipdealer as they scammed me.  I get a message from one of the ops at chipdealer, that said he'd permaban me if I talked **** about him anymore.

I said something in #xbox about how I was mad how #chipdealer required a +v , and I started talking to other people who hadn't get their orders from Chipdealer. These aren't the first customers of CD i've seen. I used to be in the channel all the time (begging for a refund/shipping info, would you believe it!) and I've seen people asking why they didn't recieve their product, why it was broken/dead and so on. My personal favorite was a guy who had been waiting 5 months for whatever he wanted (order or refund, I don't know).

So back to today in #xbox. We started talking about CD and how unreliable they were. Then an op from #xbox starts defening CD and how we didn't get ripped off (because he obviously knew EXACTLY what happened, just joining and all). And eventually, I start argueing with him on how they endorse such a company.

Well this lead to me being banned from every console discussion channel in IRC, and #psp.

And I just think it's sad, that such a terrible company can succeed because of the support of these channels.

Please, do not trust these people, buy from someone reputable. Netmech on this forum seems like a responsible guy, unlike CD who has a 12 year old running international shipping.

Thanks for reading

Would not use these guys again.

Ordered my X3. Their site said it was in stock. You know when you do not get any order status emails that they do not have it in stock.

Weeks passed. I cancelled my order. More accurately, I tried to cancel my order with many emails to any email address I could find on their site.

In the end, they sent the chip anyway (weeks late) despite my many attempts to cancel the order.

This story is not as bad as being ripped off (I got what I ordered), but this is not a very professional outfit and I will not use them again.

I've had 2 orders that took from 3 and 7 weeks to arive. These guys at CD are decent people but their speed and communication is horendous. And their pre-Christmas tactic of stating on their site that all orders before December 20th would arive before Christmas knowing full well they couldn't live up to that was down right awful.

Not in a million years can this site be reccomended until they get much faster, better organized and truthful.

Aren't you guys always behind? Because the first order I made was in September, long before the supposed console shortages. Took 3 weeks to arive and to top it off it was a referb with several of the case screws stripped that I had to drill off to upgrade my harddrive. Second order wasn't even a premod it was a system I sent to you to chip. That took 7 weeks....

No- they're not caught up. I mailed them a PS2 and DMS4 PRO chip for installation- they received it Monday Jan 3, 2005. I'm still waiting (that's 6 weeks ago!!!)-- I can't even get them to return emails or phone calls let alone actually reach one of them by telephone or live chat with any sort of regularity. (note about live-chat: expect to wait hours before you get 'voiced')

I can't even get them to cancel my order and ship back my unit-- their shipping guy promised me he'd mail it back last Friday, Feb 4, 2005-- but after 3 days (it only takes 2 days for the slowest shipping to reach my city from their location) with no refund on my credit card (and no PS2 in my possession), I knew he obviously hadn't shipped it out as promised. I emailed and left messages to complain-- no one replied until Feb 8, 2005.

Now that my PS2 had been delayed AGAIN-- I told them to either finish the install and ship it back-- or simply cancel and refund my order and ship it back by next week. Either way-- I just want my PS2+chip back, mod'ed or unmod'ed. I have no idea if they have any intention of keeping their word this time. I fully expect to be at their mercy leading into a 7th, 8th, 9th, or even 10th week!!

Before I ordered, I called their sales rep-- he returned my calls quickly and replied to all my emails, stating the installation would take two weeks to finish. Two weeks pass and I call back asking about my order, they say they're very busy and it'll get done next week. My follow-up calls to their shipping department always yield the same response, "It'll be done next week," or, "I'll be done within the next two weeks."

They put forth plenty of effort into pushing a sale but have no intention of exerting the same level of effort to actually fill orders. They are backed up w/ work, but they have no intention of warning new customers about delays. Their customer service is superficial-- they have a toll free line, email, and live chat but their staff will do nothing to help you-- they only make empty promises and shallow apologies in order for them to keep you off their backs.

The majority (if not ALL) positive reviews for them are either hoaxes committed/encouraged by chipdealer staff or the person writing the review ordered a regular stock item. (modchip, CD loader, PS2/Xbox part, etc).

I can not recommend these people to anyone. I wish I had done my research and had paid a little bit extra to an HONEST business to do my chip install.

Hey Nectur, it's the middle of Feb, why aren't you caught up? I've been waiting 6 weeks- why doesn't my order have priority, yet? Do you really have a poor soul who has been waiting even longer? How long? 7, 8, 9, 10 weeks?!?

I've had problems and difficulties with your company-- why don't you reply to my emails? Why don't you answer me on live-chat?

I almost cancelled my order after I read some of the posts here. I'm glad I didn't. I ordered the X3 CP on Mon 2/7 and it came Thurs 2/10. My order id:   #877 .  I was very happy with the service although I never tried to contact anyone to know how quickly they respond.  All I know is that no other shop had the CP and I got it quickly and at a good price. My only complaint is that I had to go out any buy screws to install my XLCD because the CP did not come with any (probably not their fault).

To sum up...

quick shipping, good price.  Would use again, perhaps to mod my xbox next sometime around Christmas  wink.gif

I placed a order on the 7th for a   X3 Control Panel for Xbox with LCD Xecuter 3 CE for Xbox with Xapt3r. After I placed the transaction I was given a error and told to retry. I did 5 more times. 20  or so minutes later I get a call from my bank saying that my card was charged 6 times with a price of $158.79 ($952.74 for all 6 charges which sends more then far over my card limit) they told me they stopped payment on 5 of the transactions but one went through. I did not get a invoice or a single thing to show that I ordered anything.

I went to the Irc chat room and spoke to RoT who I was told was the owner. I spoke to him for no more than 3 or so minutes before he disappeared for more than a hour and when I pm asking what was going on I still got no help. I work nights so I had to leave and left him my account info. Being the owner I thought things would be set and I would be getting a invoice or at least a refund so I could reorder. WRONG!!!!!!

I go back to the irc room and no answers my questions anymore or even bothers to help. I was simply told reorder. Why should I reorder when payment has already been taken? and above all that the prices  of shipping was raised the next day!!! I talked to other users in the room and was told I could give the 800 number but it probably would be a waste of time and trust me it was. I called  and got a voice mail. I left a voice mail and went to the channel and was rudely told that I was probably calling them at the wrong time since they are pacific time zone and I'm eastern. so the next day I waited for then to open at 10 pacific and throw in another hour for them to set up open up or do what ever then needed.

I then began to call every 30 minutes until closing. Not once and I mean once did someone pick up the phone. I did this for 2 days and got nothing but voice mails on all lines. I don't know but I see that as being shady. there’s Something wrong with chipdealer.com and I've reported them to the BBB and I suggest that everyone else do the same and maybe then the problem can be fixed. I am a student and only have one credit card with a low spending limit on it. now my funds are all tied up until I can dispute the charge at the end of the month. (can't cancel since the payment was taken quicker then a thief would take a wallet laying out in the open).

DO NOT BUY FROM CHIPDEALER

Ps the BBB stands for Better Business Bureaus they clean up all the scams ans shady companies and help you take action against them

Hey all,
I ordered twice though chipdealer, orders 572 and 848, and the experience was terrific. Both times my X2.6's came 3 days after i ordered and thats with a very reasonable shipping price. My second order came with a faulty external switch (not their fault) so i just jumped into the chat room spoke with RoT for about 3 min and he's sending me a new one asap. Everyone in the chatroom was friendly and eager to help out.  I will be buying my stuff from them from here on out, which is the best reccomendation i can give.

Ordered a XLCD on 12/03/04.  It arrived fairly quickly.  No problems there.

However, after I went to install it I found it was defective.  I emailed chipdealer at the email listed at their web site.

No reply after a week.

I emailed them using the "contact us" form on their web site.

No reply after a week.

I emailed them at every email address I could find on their web site and from my order confirmation email.

No reply after a week.

Finally I resorted to searching on here for anyone who appeared to be with chipdealer.com.  Modiller came up in that search.  He initially ignored my PM, then answered me but claimed he only dealt with canadian orders and then finally gave me an email address where someone answered.  Thanks for that.  As I said in my PM's, if you don't want to deal with the "fallout" from having chipdealer.com in your sig, then maybe you should start your own shop so you don't have to deal with all the angry customers trying to get any kind of response at all from chipdealer.com usa orders.

Anyway, I finally got a response from chipdealer.com through the email modiller provided (why doesn't anyone answer emails sent via the web site?), I sent the defective LCD back and got a replacement in the mail that works.

Bottom line:

Did cheapdealer.com send my initial order in a reasonable amount of time? Yes.

Was the defective LCD chipdealer.com's fault? Most likely not.

Did chipdealer.com provide adequate customer service post sale? Absolutely not.

Would I order from chipdealer.com again? Absolutely not.

ORDER 1074

Hey folks,

Just giving a review of ChipDealer.com .  I had been looking for  the X3 Control Panel.  I already had the XLCD and chipdealer.com was te only dealer in US I could find.
Reading the reviews in here, I was extremely leery of using them.  Luckily I got on their website and live chatted with some of the people from chipdealer.  They acknowledged the problems in the past, and said they were operating better now.  Well after talking with these folks and getting some info I ordered the item.  The website had frequent updates on the status of the order.  I received my item earlier than I expected.  Everything ran great and they were helpful.  For me this was a great transaction and I reccomend them.

order #1360
ordered on Feb 26, 2005

I ordered 4 X3 control panels via 3-5 day shipping.  I waited 1 1/2 weeks, but my items did not arrive.  I tried to contact their staff via e-mail and tried to call the 800-number listed on the website.  The number was disconnected, not a good sign.

At about this time, I found the numerous negative postings in this forum and started to get scared.

The chipdealer.com website listed my package as "shipped via USPS Priority Signature Confirm", but no tracking was available.  At least they responded to my e-mail and assured me that the items had been sent.

The story ends with my X3 control panels arriving 2 weeks after I ordered them.  A little slower than I would have liked.  Prices for the control panels were cheap compared to other websites.  Overall the experience was satisfactory, nothing negative, but nothing very positive either.

I'm an optimist at heart. I really want to give everyone a fair chance. My order #1164 was placed on 02-17-2005. It concists of a X3 control panel, xapt3r and X3CE.

 I recieved 3 e-mails from them on 02-17-2005.
            1. Sign in notification.
            2. Order processed
            3. Order complete.
Since then I have:
            1. e-mailed 3 times ----------- no reply.
            2. Called 4 times -------------- got one return call. Person told me that they hadn't recieved their xapt3r's from the company they ordered them from. He said I would recieve a free remote or XBOX skin for the wait (I requested a DVD remote) and an e-mail with tracking # so I could track it. That was 2 weeks ago.

When 03-15-2005 came and my order didn't I looked them up on Efnet #chipdealer using MIRC ( for those of you who don't know MIRC is and Internet Relay Chat Client ). Two different chipdealer employees told me that my order is concidered backordered and all backorders would be shipped on Friday 03-18-2005. It is Friday 03-18-2005 6:25am Eastern right now if I don't hear something or get an e-mail today I will either edit this or repost.

If the fact that I have waited over 1 calendar month dosen't say something about my patience and optimism I don't know what will. If they do what they say I will still give them a good review because they lived up to their word. They can't control when they get their orders in. But if they don't do what they say ............ I will post that later.

I was recomended to chipdealer.com from #xbox on efnet.

Placed my order in late February, it's now almost three weeks later and no chip.
Called them on tuesday it's friday and no call back.
I went into #Chipdealer on efnet and they are there.  The morning was pretty mellow and everyone seemed to be pretty understanding.  one of the ops commented "Nice group this morning".
Then one guy comes in and asks about his order and the story changed three times while we were in there.  Then it got real quiet from the Chipdealer employees.

Who knows... I'm hoping I get my order soon and it's not defective.
They keep saying their solderless adapter isn't ready, and then one guy said he found another box of them.  Now their topic says they are coming soon.

Their biggest problem is communication, and giving out hard dates.
I don't see them being around long unless they get their act together.

Placed an order with chipdealer on the 16th. Immediately received an email confirmation of order. The next day received tracking number from them, then received tracking number directly from FedEx. My package arrived as expected 7 days later. Great communication, great product and awesome price. Will definitely shop there again!

I placed an order with ChipDealer.com on March 18th, 2005.  During the order process I thought  I was taken off site and asked to verify my card number and password and a password recovery phrase.  I didn't think much of it at the time becasue everything was going smooth.  After I answered the questions, I was back on there site with no problems and I was told the transaction completed.

I ordered the Chip + Front Panel.

Two days later, I got a call from my credit card company about fraud transactions. Didn't think much of it, closed the card.

Then later in the week I got an email from PayPal.  Fraud in that account.

Looking back, I used the same password.

I got an email from some guy who's PayPal account was also victimized.  My funds were being routed through his account.  After taklking with him, he ordered the same items on the same day from ChipDealer.com and used his PayPal password on that site.

I did receive an invoice from ChipDealer.com and also a tracking number.  I have not received any product yet.  When I look up the tracking number on FedX it says the package Data was transfered to them, but I do not believe they actually received the package to deliver yet.

If anybody else has this problem, look me up.

From there on I had a hard time getting in touch with these guys... no answers to emails and they were never available on irc.... here is the last email I sent on 24/02/05 which is kinda rude but with all that wait I got carried away. Never got a reply.

=========================================================
Hi,

I've seen on the channel that you've send out all canadian orders and I should have a tracking number in my emails which I don't. I find this really frustrating since this order was placed on the 30th of november and you personally told me you'd handle the situation with haste. Now I know you had problems receiving the parts from the US guys and u were sick at one point... Was I an ass about it? So why I am treated like this? I've been way too patient with you guys and we both know there is no legal action I can take against you but I assure you I'll put as much money I did in those parts I ordered so long ago into making your business look bad.... even tho from the reviews I see so far, it is already pretty bad.

You can still fix the situation and send me my parts, I don't want extra stuff for my wait or another excuse, just the parts I ordered. This situation is in your hands and I hope you'll make the right decision about it.

I'll even attach all the emails I got so far from you guys in case you don't have them anymore.

I expect the situation to be fixed inside a week.

David

I had a great experience with Chipdealer. I ordered a chip, and started to get a little worried when it wasn't shipping when I expected, but I got on IRC and the chipdealer channel, and talked to jon, and he assured me everything was going fine. I just tend to be a worrier, so I don't fault chipdealer at all biggrin.gif

Every question I had got answered quickly, and I was amazed with the awesome customer service.

I recommend that everyone go to chipdealer for their modding needs, especially if you are Canadian biggrin.gif

Darryl,

I put in an order last week (Order #10774) for a Black Xbox X3 Control Panel.  From reading this board it looks like I will have problems receiving it.  I would like to know if this is going to ship by atleast Wednesday and if not I would like a refund or i'll try a charge back through my credit card company.

Order#10774
(1)Xbox X3 Control Panel
Total Price: $71.95

I ordered a Black X3 Control Panel for the Xbox on April 7.  I received a generated email and a charge on my credit card but no shipment date.  I sent an email and left a message on voice mail but received no response.  Yesterday, I was sent an email with a FedEX shipping number, but this number has not worked so I'm guessing its bullsh*t.  From the looks of the other posters I will have to call my Credit Card company to issue a chargeback, becasue I don't think I will be getting my product.  I would also accept a refund of my money!  I brought something, I didn't make a donation!  If anything changes I would be more then happy to update or edit this post.  For now this sucks!

Sure Darryl... thats why you sent me this email:

Continue posting on all the forms you want nigger,

But you need to get a refund for your order we aren't shipping it because
your card was denied.

Contact your bank to dispute anything, otherwise waste all your time until
you get bored and decide to get a refund back from your bank.

Very professional indeed... good thing they brought you into the company. And for those of you who don't know, my card was denied for a refund which is actually impossible unless the guy doing the refund has no clue of what he's doing.

Ordered X3 front panel with X3 CE modchip late on April 6.  Shipped on April 8th (friday).  Product arrived April 12.  Item came packed well, all is good.

They refunded shipping overcharge resulting from fedex ground shipping  vs 2-day that I had specified.  (I live in the same state as they ship from)

Overall everything went pretty smooth and djp was pretty wasy to deal with on irc, answering quiestions about the transaction.

Still waiting for my order which DJP says he would personally check into.  Well what happened to it?  Even a VALID tracking number would be a good start unlike the 1st one I got from ChipDealer.com.

Am I upset.  Yeh.  Ive been lied to now since March 18th. Invoice #10362.

And what happened to the post I put up before?  This forumn erased my original post. All I want is my product, or my money back.  Yes, it is that simple.

Go here for more bad news on chipdealer.com. www.resellerratings.com

If lckyduc did have a good experience, then he went looking at other places to spread his good fortune around which seems suspicious.  Everybody I have been speaking to has had nothing but problems with chipdealer.com.

Order id:   #10888
Order date:   13-04-2005 04:45:14
Tracking number:   Shipped USPS

Email received April 14th
it's now April 24th....

Maybe I'm just being antsy... But after reading 9 pages of problems with this website, maybe not. 10 days to ship a chip one state away...

It wouldn't be half as bad, if I could actually login into the webpage (secure login link brings up a page cannot be displayed) That and their IRC channel is moderated.. so you can talk, and must PM the admins...only to sit around for hours with no response.

Nonfunctional website, 90% of the reviews on this thread are bad, if and when I get my product, this will be the last time I order from ChipDealer.Com.

Hopefully you will have good news for me after seeing my post.

As of April 26, 2005 I still never received back the new XBOX and PS2 sent to DJP to be modded along with 2 DMS3 chips I purchased elsewhere. This puts me out over $500 and all actions appear to be criminal. I have business in Pontiac in early June and I plan to visit the address given along with the local authorities. Ordered back in November 11,2004

Kenneth

I even ordered from chipdealer only to find out that it is being serviced by DJP formerly of houseofmodchips.com and A-Plus Mods, the same Darryl who promised me that my son would receive his XBOX and PS2 and that he was sorry for the mix up.

Well here is my update chipdealer didn't hold up to their end of the bargin. I had to go to my bank and dispute the charges in order to get my money back. I gave them every chance in the world to correct the problem. My order was #1164 and I placed it on 02-17-2005 I recieved this final e-mail on 04-09-2005

Hi, we will not be able to finish this order and can not manually refund you.

In order to obtain your refund, you should go to your bank and ask them to dispute the charge. You may also call the support number for your credit card and do it over the phone.

We tried to finish this but could not, and we weren’t able to manually refund this order and this is the only way you will get your money back.

Sorry and I wish I could be more help to you.

Thank you,

Darryl

I have also been banned from their IRC room ( I will even admit I was banned with good cause. After being mistreated as a customer I said some things and told a few other people how to cancel their orders ) but that is okay as I am spending my time with the Better Business Beureau. I like Lokkay have kept every e-mail and IRC log and have submitted all of this information to the BBB. This will not kill their business but it will prevent them from becoming a member of the Better Business Beureau.
This is just my opinion but I think these fellas take people's orders keep their money just long enough to collect interest on it. They then keep you running in circles with false promises of fulfilling the origional order. And finally tell you to dispute the charges if you want your money back. What a great scam!!!
Don't fall for the free controller, free dvd remote, 5% "ordererror" discount code. If you agree to any of these you are giving them permission to keep your money longer until they can fix the problem. They never will fix it.

My advice is:
1.  If you haven't ordered from them yet don't!
2.  If you have ordered from them:  Go to https://chipdealer.com/order and cancel your order. Then go immediatly to your bank, credit union or credit card company and tell them you wish to dispute the charges.

When I look back I should have noticed that:
there is no link on their site incase you need to cancel.
every time I contacted them there was a new excuse as to why I didn't have my order yet.
the guys on IRC I spoke with were DJP and RoT they both seemed very nice and very sincere but I believe it is nothing more than an act to reassure you that everything is fine.
This has left a nasty stain on their reputation with me. If I recieved a package from them tomorrow with my origional order (1 X3-control panel, 1 X3CE, and 1 Xapt3r) I would sing their praises to the world. Infact I would take my own Business website offline and design a new site devoted to praising them. But that won't happen as I already have my money refunded and they aren't a business interested in satisfying people.

I am also having difficulties with Chipdealer but in the US.

I ordered a complete x-box & mod chip on 6 April. I was informed that it was shipped on the 15th. However further investigations revelaed that hey had not shipped it. I called (19th) and eventually reached someone who said they had a back log but promised it would be shipped within a few days. I'm still waiting. I've call 10 times since and no one is at home. I've e-mailed 5 times. One responce said it would ship mid week (4th May) it has not. I called again today and their mailbox is full. Sounds like they are no longer in buisness.
Has anyone else had similar problems.

What is funny is I received the X2.6 Chip and programmer on 4/29/2005 they shipped out of their cali office and I am good to mod an xbox for a friend but here it is that 5/13/2005 and I have not received the the DVD drive.  The Day I ordered the chip and drive, I called and talked to a sales rep with 2 questions, 1.  If they had the dvd drives in stock and was told they did, and 2.  The submit order button sends to an unencrypted site sending all data via no https .  Well I placed the order because I needed to get both the chip and dvd drive.  Well for the past 1.5 weeks, no answer on their chat or even phone.  In my opinion, I don't think I would order from these guys again because I can understand a pre-order but damn, when you ask a question  on their chat, the site is locked or out of sync.  And their phone number is no longer taking any calls or voice mail.  At least when I ordered from another dealer they lagged on shipping my order but at least they would answer questions and communicate with their customers not.  Chip Dealer.   Now I feel I just paid $ 89 bucks for a Chip and Programmer eventhough the chip and programmer was supposed to include Free Shipping.  I did like the fact that since I am in California that they shipped the chip fast but with how they are not answering any questions on their irc chat or even answering the phone.  I guess I am just out of the cost of the drive.  I cannot recommend ordering from ChipDealer for the reasons lack of support and not answering anything.

Ordered a Premodded Xbox w/ X3 chip on May 7th, Said it was shipped on May 9th to arrive on May 12th. Great huh? Not so fast.

Fed-Ex says that they just printed a label and thats it.

This RoT person on their irc constantly says that he will take care of it, Which I find to be BS.

Come to find out this DJP person has quit the group, Has all the items that people have ordered and hasnt shipped a thing and 1 person said (HAHA) that the owner has to fly out to the place and pick them up. UH HUH RIGHT.

1st they say it takes awhile for fed-ex to update, NO, Usually like 10-14 hours if not less (FED-EX told me this personally).

2nd they said it was that the items are on HOLD status due to fed-ed wanting the shipping pre-paid or some crude.

Yesterday, RoT changed the topic to: Pending orders notified are being shipped today.. EU NOW OPEN !!! and told me my box would ship yesterday and that fed-ex status would change later that night. Here it is nearly 24 hours later and still the status is the same "Package Data Transmitted to Fed-Ex", Meaning they dont have the package.

I have called my bank and told them that alot of people are having the same issues as I am and that they said most likely I will get the charges reversed.

STEAR CLEAR of these people. They ARE FRAUDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know of over 10 people who are in the same boat as I am.

Sorry to dig this back up, but I've been reading this topic for a few months now (I'm a glutton for the human tragedy) and have made simple conclusions:

1) They have the best prices.
2) Their customer support doesn't support customers.
3) If you buy a premodded system, then you will be witness to the second coming of Christ before you receive your order.
4) This is the weird one. If you order an item that DOES NOT require installation, then they will ship it to you within 3 to 10 days.

I started out early last year with the original Xenium. Just before Christmas, I got a new box and installed my ICE. I have since sold those two machines to friends who are too inept with a soldering iron and who want their products immediately. No biggie, I just restored both drives to stock (120gb/200gb SlaYer's stock smile.gif ) and walked both of them through backing up their games/XBMC/dashboards, etc... So I bought a cheap box at ebgames and went trekking for my next chip. I never had any problems with Xeniums, but I wanted to try a different one this go-around.

With my chipdealer conclusions, I decide to order a single X3 chip with NO extras from them. I'm kinda cheap, BTW.  laugh.gif I ordered it last Saturday, May 7. I payed with my debit card and just went about my life without so much as thinking about my chip. Now, this is where it gets confusing because this isn't a horror story like the ones I've read before. I don't even wanna quote those stories for fear of going to hell. So...... I receieved an email from them on the 12th that I read today. They refunded my money without any explanation. What... the... fuck...? I never made any attempt to contact them or even visit their website aside from placing my order.

I guess what I'm saying is: a lot of you have invested much too much time and much too much money in this. SEEK LEGAL ADVICE. I'm serious. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that nothing happened to. Time and again people will say that they have been taken advantage of with these guys even AFTER reading this thread. I just wanted a cheap chip. But like I said, I was lucky that THEY made the first move and refunded my money. No harm, no foul.

Before I have to edit this, I just remembered something. I went to check out the site to find out why my money was refunded, and...

THE SITE WAS DOWN!!!! Yes, you guys that have suffered dearly should definitely find yourselves good lawyers and hunt these guys down. Your collective loss and suffering DOES warrant criminal investigation. I hope everything goes well for you folks that have been duped.

P.S. Some people got taken for a ride, and AFTER they DIDN'T receive any goods that they purchased, they went back and did business with the same people that ripped them off. THIS truly boggles the mind. huh.gif

I registered here just to post this.  I wish I had seen this thread before I ordered from these crooks.  The people in there IRC chat room are so full of crap its unbeleivable.   I waited two weeks for a tracking number that I never got and no one seemed to be able to get in charge of the person who ships out.   I had to call my bank and dispute the charges which is a major hassle.   I am going to try to spread the word on these people so they are forced to shut down.

Boy, I wish I could just get my money back by complaining to my bank.  I actually ordered an Xecuter 3CE for my xbox and DMS4 Pro for my PS2.  I ordered install service for both consoles at the same time.  So I sent my PS2 and my XBOX in the same box to chipdealer.

The crazy thing is, my PS2 and XBOX already had mod chips in them.  I had the Xecuter 2.2 and Dms 3+, but I wanted the newest best thing.  Plus my XBOX had the Halo green case, 128mb memory upgrade and Samsung DVD drive.

Being the stupid person I am, I went to the teamxecuter web site and saw the list of official Xecuter retailers.  When I had my install work done before, I went to system-mods and modchipman.  Both were fast and efficient.  They were both official Xecuter retailers.  So I figured what the heck, chipdealer was on the official retailer list as well.  Xecuter hadn't let me down so far.

A few days after sending off my two consoles, I noticed a thread on the Xecuter website about retailer fedback.  To my shock, I read page after page of horror stories.  If I had just ordered chips from them, I would have canceled the charge as soon as I could.  But my consoles were already on the way.

04-14-05, my consoles arrive at chipdealer.

04-14-05 thru 05-01-05, No notifications from chipdealer.  No response to phone calls, no response to emails.

05-01-05 Contact RoT on IRC channel.  He gives me DJP's phone number and says that I need to send 20 emails to DJP to get a reponse.

05-01-05 thru 05-07-05 After many emails, no response from DJP.

05-07-05 Contact DJP on IRC, he says PS2 will mail 05-08-05 and XBOX "next week".  Promises tracking number.

05-08-05 thru 05-18-05 No emails from DJP no tracking number.  No responses on IRC.

05-18-05 email Inferis at chipdealer and actually get a response.  Email stating that my consoles will go out on 05-19-05.  I ask for a tracking number and get a response that one would be sent as soon as the shipper gives him the information.

05-18-05 Filed complaint with Better Business Buruea.  Upon investigation, none of the Bureau claims have ever been resolved.

05-18-05 thru present - Still no tracking number, I find out that DJP no longer works for chipdealer.  No responses from chipdealer.

So I am pretty sure that if this doesn't work out, not only did I spend $200 on mod chips an install service, I spent $20 on shipping and lost $300 in consoles, $100 in already installed mod chips and $100 in RAM.

I think this company's standard response is, "Sure we will ship it out tommorow"  They never ship it out tommorow, and if they ever do respond, the will always give the same answer.

Funny thing is, when DJP started, he acted like he was going to make everything allright.  "He was brought in to make sure things were set straight and now they were shipping out of MI instead of CA."  Guess it didn't make any difference.  He never did respond to any of my emails.

At this point I am missing out on excellent games like God of War and Gran Turismo 4.  I played Gran Turismo 4 for a whole week before sending off my consoles.  Guess I will never get to play it.   I won't be buying a PS2 or XBOX again.  It is too close to the next console life cycle.

I really wish xecuter would remove this store from their official retailer list.  I decided to go to chipdealer soley based on my trust of Xecuter.  They really don't care about their customers if they continue to support chipdealer.

DON'T SHOP AT CHIPDEALER!!!!

OK so all you people that have been scammed by Chipdealer, what do we do. I suggest we e-mail each other so we can get in contact and I'll put together a list showing the extent of the issue. We can each send the list to our credit card companies so they can take action. If we get enough complaints we can start a law suit.

Lets put these people out of buisness and into jail

QUOTE(Joshua360 @ May 27 2005, 08:09 PM)
Here's what I do know about ChipDealer:

DJP, named Darryl Polo, had an agreement with ChipDealer to Ship Products and provide and manage a merchent account.

During some point,  he decided to keep the money in the merchent account, pretend to ship products, and reopen up his store www.Aplusmods.com. On his store, Aplusmods, he decided to sell products which were property of ChipDealer. Very quickly, he was caught and fire from ChipDealer.

He had refused to refund customers or return products, so customers during his time of operation were advised to contact their bank and aquire a refund.

I think his phone number is 248 941 7363 and address, Residential or P.O. Box is:

Not to say this story might not be true but Chipdealer has had slow service from the very beginning. Which with my experience was back in September and again in November. And slow service feeback is still coming in. If this guy was quickly found out and fired then the incredibly poor service wouldn't span such a huge amount of months... Unless he wasn't the only poor choice to make a CD employee.

But you guys have played the it's not our fault card far too much. It's time you take responsibility for what happens to your customers. You hire a criminal to ship your packages thats your fault and you needed to sue him on behalf of your customers and inform your customers of the situation as quickly as you found out what he was doing with your CUSTOMERS money and products.

Post that personal info again and you'll have more than an IP and an account closed.

Given Chipdealer's history, Rot's history.. Hacker's Hardware.. and other scams.. real or fake reps of Chipdealer.com should not come here with multiple accounts and throw stones at people.

We can't tell which of you is lying when it comes to the issues of chipdealer.. but we aren't going to let you use and turn XS into your shitting ground and post former employees or staff personal info here.

Next time I see that shit here on XS.. no one will even see CHIPDEALER name or site listed anywhere on XS anymore.. and ROT and a few other guys info will be posted as well.

NO MORE CHIPDEALER BULLSHIT.

All Shops.. sponsors.. or otherwise.. are expected to conduct themselves responsibly on this site.

I accidentally came upon this forum as I was looking for a telephone number to call this chipdealer.com company using Google search. And boy what a treasure trove I stumbled upon.
On 29 March 2005 I placed an order with them for 2 PS2 modified with free controller and memory (one each) and to date NOTHING, ZILCH, NADA.
Every month I write them an email and on one accosion I got an email saying that they received new stuff and that my shipment would be out in 7-10 days time. I was even given a FedEx tracking number. After one month and not seeing anything I called FedEx and was told that the number is a number they have for a package but FedEx was not given the package "as yet" to deliver to the customer.

My wife is after my throat as she saw right through it when the charges came on the credit card that this chipdealer.com is the one and same APLUS MOD. com. In Dec 2004 I placed orders for 5 PS2 for my 3 kids and two friends and I had to call my Bank to cancel the order as I was getting nowhere with them, so I guess after reading all that I have just read, it is off to call the bank to do the same again. My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau about this company.
