i did have 2nd thoughts about it after receiving an email from another modder on here warning me about jeds soldering skills. i still decided to go with my gut instinct and went ahead. certainly glad i did, i explained the warning when i got there and he said if anyone could find fault with his soldering he would do the job for free.
well i couldnt find any faults, it was hard to tell the difference what MS had soldered and what jed had soldered. xbox booted 1st time 160gig hard drive was installed and setup to my spec and i was in and out in less than an hour.
money well spent by me
job well done by jed, i have friends with xboxes unmodded and ill be spreading the good word

here is the gist of how good he is
1 - i bought an XBOX
2 - found his details
3 - Ged came to my works - took my xbox and left me with £50 ( deposit )
4 - i went round 3 hrs later , gave him his £50 back and paid for the chip
i dont know many people that would do this - but it instantly gave me confidence in him
i got a demo of the software he had installed and showed me what everything did

he even sorted out my best mates XBOX for him aswell ... i will be telling everyone i know about him and the services he offers ( i just want the V3 chip and LCD - so a bit of bribery goes a long way !! )

My xbox is now a superb media centre
wired up to a projector it is great for watching divx files etc and you don't have to faff about wiring your computer up to the tv or projector.

There is a lot of recent worry about the newer Samsung drives(MS28 Firmware) that some 360 Firmware flashers are having to perform the "risky" VCC soldering trick & charging customers more for them having to do it
I do not take such risks, ALL MS28 drives can & WILL be flashed without the need for any soldering whatsover.
I have no bricked drives to my name whatsoever & on the Offchance it did happen to a customers 360 i would replace the full 360 immediatley!

had a problem with a crystal one - he fixed it for nothing ( what a guy eh !!) - but then it went faulty again
so he took it all apart , checked everything , removed the chip and reseated it , went out of his way to get me another PSU and only charged me £25 for this service ( and its now running superb i must add ! )
as soon as people say that they have an xbox i always recommend Ged

This ONLY applies to reflashes performed on drives originally flashed by myself.
This is where the backup of your original Firmware you were given comes in handy.

So I paid Ged a visit today and I have to say it was like watching a pro at work.
He had the drive out, flashed with xtreme 4.2a and back together within 10-15 minutes.
Thoroughly tested my 360 all afternoon and tonight and my box is working a treat, if anything the drives quieter than it was before.
I'd not hesitate recommending anyone who needs their box flashing going to Ged.
All in all, top quality service from a very friendly chap.

On another note i would like to inform people that I am still flashing firmware for the 360! Ive had 2 separate emails today asking this as they had "heard i had packed it all in".
At the moment i am not modding 0078fk's. I have only seen one of these drives to date so im not rushing out to buy a programmer just yet as a software solution could be just round the corner(I hope).
I will be resuming my premodded 360 service once the 0078fk enigma has been solved.
But I AM still chipping Original Xbox & firmware flashing the 360's.
Until you read otherwise from ME(in this thread), its Business As Usual.

My friend broke his drive trying to flash it himself. The drive couldnt be saved, but Slim went completely out of his way as far as ordering a drive from HongKong himself and flashing it for my friend.
Slim you didnt get to chat to my mate, but he's very thankful buddy.
Everyone should use Slimgrip, seriously! 48hours later after sending him your drive you'll already have it back!

Ged was awesome, he took my xbox from and had it back in my hands 15 minutes later, after talking me through a few things I paid the man his very reasonable fee headed off back down the m6, was in wigan maybe 45 minutes tops.

Sent it off on wednesday and got it back today (friday).
Excellent service and the console doesnt even look like its been opened.
Even fitted the chip into a socket so can be easily upgraded when better chips come out latter.
Highly recomended to anyone thinking of having there wii modded.

And one bad news - drive knackered!! Not so good Ged then after warning me that a new drive may take 3 weeks to get hold of, had a replacement drive with me, with new firmware loaded by the end of that week. Reinstalled it that night and working 360 service is resumed!!!!! Works now with my original games and my backups!! What can I say - this guy is a saviour and a legend!! Would definately recommend him for any of your modding needs, and an easy guy to talk to.

Plays games perfect and Ged has been very helpful answering all my questions including how to solder these things.

It had overheated, would not boot and gave me an E74 error. After a couple of emails he said he would have a look at it, but could not guarantee to fix it. So i took it to him (with 2 other 360's that needed flashing) in the morning and said i would come back the following day. By 2pm the same day he rang confirming that he had fixed my 360 and flashed the other 2.
I could not be more pleased with the service.

took both mine, and a friends over. Job Sorted. Then went back with another three machines a few weeks
later. . . . Job sorted again, no problem.
Kept my eye on his thread on here every now and then, to make sure he's still "on the job", coz you never know when ya might need him........... And noticed at the weekend that he way now supplying the
"R4" DS Cart.........!
Gave him a buzz Saturday afternoon, it was sent monday, and arrived Tuesday.
Can't fault the chap. If i'd have foned a few hours earlier, i would probably have got it yesterday, but the post office was allready shut when i foned......
We all know there's many "MrModz-N-Chipz" type places to be found on the net that do this kind of cart, but

The xbox had already been taken apart and the x-clamp had been tried (which i was not aware of when i sent it to him & he informed me before he attempted any kind of fix)
He tried his best and put in lots of time on the console but was unable to get it working.
Sent back to me special delivery including money i sent up.
Not fix, no fee - Great.
Once i get a new Xbox i will be sending him the drive to have it flashed without even thinking about it.

I started speaking to Ged and asked if he could fix it for me, he said he'd have a look and see what he can do.
I was quite worried as I thought I had already got screwed by someone else but I shipped it to him on the Saturday and I am gonna receive it on the Tuesday.
Long story short, Ged always stayed in contact either by phone or PMs and was quick and cheap.

Ged updated me to the latest firmware, everything is running perfectly now. He also cleaned my DVD drives lens which was giving me some big problems. Cutscenes on games were skipping, games were sometimes taking long to load, dirty disc errors, guitar hero would play out of sync. A short time playing just now and I can see that the drive is now reading discs perfectly, no skipping, quicker loading, even much quicker installing to the hard disc drive.
Its a top quality service as always. Ged's turnaround by post is lightning quick and his work has always been top notch. I recommend him to all of my friends and would recommend anyone from this site to use his services in an instant!
Be good mate and thanks for saving my drive, aswell as updating my firmware!

all it was a case of was getting his post code punching it into the sat nav while my wife waited for me in the car. took just 5mins and it was done he sent me all my old info keys and stuff to my email, by the time i got bk home.

I value Ged so much, he is always bailing me out and is always the go-to guy when I need a console looked at or modified. I remember back in the day when the only guys I knew of capable of doing what Ged does were really hard to get a hold of and often took ages to get the work done. Ged is a breath of fresh air compared to those modders that I was used to. I prefer to post my consoles from London to Manchester rather than drive 5 minutes to see those guys!

Was very quick at responding to e-mails and gave me a solid understanding of what he was going to perform on the console before I sent it off.
I previously had an unworking console (DVD drive key was lost and not backed up). Ged performed the JTAG mod on my 7371 dash and retrieved the key needed to reflash my hitachi drive. I can now also run homebrew which is an added bonus.
According to parcelforce tracking the parcel arrived at his house on Tuesday evening. A few hours later I received an e-mail with my DVD and CPU keys. Quick service indeed!
I would also like to add that I decided to use Parcel force as a courier for my 360. Royal mail charged about £20 for postage each way (and that meant I would have needed to visit my post office which is quite a few miles away). I check parcelforce online and they only charged me around £13 each way (with insurance and collection from my home). Just a heads up for anybody who wants cheaper postage!
All in all - great service.

Two hours later I get a reply from Ged telling me he has received the drive, flashed it and sent it back off, he also included a tracking number. I should mention the company I booked with first were going to send me my drive key and I did mean to ask Ged to do this but due to contacting him at the last minute and being busy (redecorating) it slipped my mind. Well this didn't matter because 3minutes after receiving the email telling me my drive had been sent off, I received another telling me I will be sent a firmware backup when hes gets home, which I got two hours or so later, so I ended up better off.
Ged was more expensive to use than the company I was going to use (by £14, basically delivery there and back) but in the end £14 extra was worth it knowing I WOULD get my drive back and within a short amount of time and the reason I knew this was this very thread.

What can I say, the guy's an absolute legend. Had my box tagged and working in no time. He practically bent over backwards to ensure I could get it done as soon as possible. I honestly can't stress how helpful he was.
He made sure I had a copy of the NAND backups and everything, couldn't ask for a better service.
10/10 all over, highly recommended and I'll be calling on his services in the future for sure.

Just another post to recommend Ged's services. I got in touch with Ged via phone and organised a date and time to visit and he was very helpful and friendly, I arrived there last Saturday and gave him 3 xbox's to flash, he invited us in to wait which was very decent of him but we thought we'd leave him to it and get some lunch at the McDonalds over the road and by the time we got in there and ordered the food and sat down he rang me to tell me the boxes were ready - total time was about 20 minutes.
Awesome service, friendly & helpful guy charging very reasonable rates, would definitely go back to him and will do so in the future.
To Ged - Cheers for Saturday really appreciated it.

I recieved confirmation on Wednesday that Ged had already recieved, flashed and returned the drive for delivery on Thursday.

updated my flash, and uncrippled by secdata and did the same for a mate,
and did a new flash on a work mates 360.
all straight forward, all cheap (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Due to my imminent house move & forthcoming holiday i just havent got the time to provide any of my services for the time being.
I am only moving a mile up the road & once ive set my stuff back up i will be back in action!
Normal service will resume at the beginning of next month(June) & hopefully be some good news on the LiteOn Slim 0225 drives by then
PM Box will be disabled for the duration & i will post here when im ready to resume.

My friend offered to flash a slim 9504 drive and made a mess of it. Thankfully I found Ged on these forums and gave him a call to see if he could salvage the drive for me. This was not a standard procedure and Ged spent a lot of time trying to get this drive back to life for me and eventually he did the business and I now have a working 360 :-).
The service he offers cannot be beaten in my opinion and you even get a brew thrown in for good measure of his wife !
I know in the future I will definatly be using his skills if and when I require a mod on my 360.

Have used Ged several times now, never any problems. Always seems to have latest firmware available just when you need it.

I've just got my JTAG xbox 360 firmware/dashboard updated by Ged today and i must say i was really impressed with the service and costs. I originally thought i would have to leave my 360 and collect it at a later date, but he did it whilst i waited.
I would definately recommend Ged to anyone else who is looking for modifications/updates for their 360.

Yes im flashing with LT+ 2.0 now, Phat BenQ, Samsung & Liteon drives only for the time being.

I've just had my 360 modified and i cannot praise him enough. He's cheap, knows what he is doing and always delivers on time. I wouldn't go anywhere else for all your console modifications.
