Hi everybody. My name is Karl and I live in the North west part of Chicago right by the intersaction of Addison and Austin. I already did countless Xboxs and PS2s for some of my friends and costumers from this forum.

I pretty much stand strong with my word to you that I will do a great job and get everything working. I am not afraid to admit if I ever screw anything up (This has not happened yet) and I will pay for a new XBOX console if something where ever to happen.

I would prefer drop off's since its better this way so then I can deal with a costumer face to facebut shipping is always an option if you are out of state costumer or If im just too far away. All consoles are tested free of charge before I start any work. Like mentioned earlier, I will pay or replace anything if broken by my fault.(Also mentioned earlier, this never happened before).

PS2 mod is now only $55 (DUO3 Gold modchip is included in the price )
XBOX 360 (firmware flash) is now only $25
Wii mod is now only $40 (WiiKEY modchip is included in the price )
GC Modz are estimated per client.

Sorry, but I dont. I didnt stock up on chips yet. Im just starting to offer my modding services. So I dont know if this buisness is going to take off. For right now, I only mod you console if you provide the chip as well. I had a Xenium but a guy already took it off my hands.

I just set up an install with Carl for later this week when the Xecuter3 comes in, I sent him an email around 12:30 to get some information and heard back within 30 minutes. Very quick. I'll let you know how the install goes.

Wow, I am getting a lot of people that want their xbox modded. All of the chips that I am expecting right now are already sold. I will have start stocking up on modchips soon. So I apologize to all the people that have to wait antill friday antill the X3's chips come. I will order another batch of chips today or tomorrow to avaid such wait times in the future.

Ex-CON was really good with my mod chip install, I drove to him and it took him three hours, because of a problem on my end, but the work was excellent. He was a gracious host, and even allowed me to play PS2 games while waiting!

Plus, mine was a 1.6b...

Very nice, friendly, fast, and professional. I highly recommend him!

I have one PS2 Mod Chip that I ordered for one of the people here. It is a Matrix Infinity Blue dot. This chip works on the new PStwo consoles. Since he did not go through with the install as scheduled, I am offering one PS2 mod install. The price of the chip is $60 and the install is $65. Any Takers?

Im sorry jimbob2, I dont do ps2 anymore. I am only offering to do one install with the chip that I have gotten for someone else. The reason is that that person backed out from the install so I am looking for a waay to get rid of it. Once again, it is a Matrix Infinity blue dot version that even works on PS2 slim.

I'm another satisfied Chicago customer! Carl installed an Xecuter chip and a new HD into my 1.6 Xbox. He demonstrated how to use the evox dashboard and answered all my questions. He's got a couch and Xbox for playing in his "waiting room" while he works. I was in and out in an hour.

Thank you for the recent feedback. On a lite note, I am posting and update for prices, installs and type of mods. Seems like all my updates are scattered throught the whole thread and I know that it sucks to be reading 7 pages just to see what I currentlly do.

Just to let everyone know. I also do premods on request. The prices of these premods are basically the price of a retail bought console, price of chip and the price of labor. If you want to add a hard drive that would be also extra.

A premod Game Cube will be $225 Shipped (chipped with Viper GT)
A premod XBOX will be $270 Shipped (Chipped with Xecuter 3)
A premod PS2 Console will be $280 Shipped (Chipped with Crystal Chip)

Hard Drive prices vary on brand and/or size.

Offcourse prices will vary if you send me a chip of your choice or request me to order you a different chip. So please email me or pm if you wish to know the exact price for a specific customized premod.

Once again, if you supply the console and chip, the prices for installs (for any type of chip) are as follow (note:I dont charge for return shipping):

XBOX v1.0 ~ 1.5 is $35
XBOX v1.6 ~ 1.6b is $45
PS2 (all versions) is $65
Game Cube (all DOL-001) is $35

Not too long ago, I sent off a PStwo (V12, slimline) to get a mod chip in it, so it can be -lightly- comparable to my Xboxes. Not only did Ex-CON do the mod-work for a decent price, he steered me towards a better modchip than what I originally thought to get. That, and answering a few questions I had concerning the "fixes" for the PStwo laser.

A few days later, I get the package in the mail, and am well on my way into the *cough* world of PS2 hacking. I only wish the PS2 was as fun to geek around in as the Xbox is.

Ex-CON does excellent work! ... Recommended? Hell yeah! I'll definitely send a few friends his way when they get their systems.

I want to get rid of a XBOX I recently purchased. It is a limited edition GREEN Halo XBOX. It is a 1.4 with Philips Drive and stock hard drive. The Xbox is chipped with a spider chip or it can be upgraded to a Xecuter 3 ce.

Halo LE 1.4 XBOX with spiderchip (soldered with pin header) asking price $300

bump. Please forgive me everybody for the late reply's. I think I had the worst week in my life. I get a parking ticket on MOnday morning for $120 saying no city sticker, damnit , it was right there in the lower right corner. Then my $400 amp got stolen on Wednesday and window broken, and today my car almost got towed from the school parking lot because my parking permit fell down from the mirror. But all questions where answered and all items shipped. Thank you all once again.

Awesome guy, just got my xbox modded yesterday. We set up the appointment that morning and I had my xbox done by 10pm that night. He's a really good guy, makes you feel comfortable and very inviting.

Hell, I even showed up an hour and a half early and he just dropped what he was doing and worked on my xbox for me. Come on, that's some great service. His soldering is clean, he's thorough with his work, and quick. This may sound like I'm overdoing the praise, but I really am blown away by how easy and quick the install was. If I decided to do it, it would take me a few days to get everything installed and figure out what kind of BIOS to use and how to flash and network and all that shit.

Cannot recommend this guy enough, I'll hopefully be going back for a HDD install or something soon.

Karl had modded my V3 PS2 and has done a superb job at modding it. He has answered all of the questions that i have had with haste, and shipped my PS2 back very fast. When I need another system modded I will definitely ship my system to him. I am very satisfied with the job he did and I am sure you will be to!

hey guys, sorry I was a no show for a while, I'm currently in Europe on some very personal related business. I already did over 20 wii's ever since I came back. those were 99% installed with a wiikey. Not one has ever failed.

Just had my Modchip installed by him earlier today. Not only did he install the chip for me but he also fixed the modchip! He did a fantastic job! If you are in the area and you need a chip installed I recommend him! Very quick too, he did it right there while I waited.

I am generally a tough critic and hard to please but I brought my Xbox 360 to Karl about 2 weeks ago for a flash firmware installation and I must say that he was very hospitable and pleasant, straightforward, very knowledgeable, technically excellent, he was quick and did a great job on my system. I would highly recommend him to anyone in Chicago or the greater surrounding area.

hi, sorry it didnt work out, I just hope the money you spent on shipping didnt go to waste completely, at least I adjusted/ tweaked the laser. Works a lot better now.

UPDATE: I AM NOT GOING TO BE ORDERING MORE CHIP FOR ANY SYSTEM. IF YOU WANT A WII OR A PS2 MODDED, YOU HAVE TO BRING YOUR OWN CHIP.

I just want to say Karl is a great guy and super easy to work with. I stopped by today with 2 Wii's, he had them both done in under an hour. He upgraded the the Wii's to the latest config, we tested a few games and they all worked fine. Karl also gave me some tips on what media to use. Well, my 360's DVD tray broke, so i took it to Karl with a new one, and in about 15 minutes he had done the swap and flashed me to boot. His response time was quick, and we set up a time with no difficulty. Karl is the best.

All I can say is wow!
Karl did an amazing job modding my d2b wii with 3 cut legs. He did the install faster that it would have taken me to open the wii (I've done that before). He was done and testing it before I knew it.
Thanks Karl for updating the firmware and adding the 1.9g hotfix to the wiikit, you seriously rule, not kidding.

BTW, other supposedly good modders turned down my offer cus it's too much work for little profit to mod the 3cut legged wii. I can't say enough about Karl.

karl just installed a d2ckey chip in my wii! most installers will not even touch this chip! my wii works great and karl could not of been more helpful with any question i had for him, even if it had nothing to do with my wii. i would definitely recommend him and will recommend him to my friends or anyone thats needs something modded.

Brought my Wii to Karl over the weekend. He really knows his stuff! Answered many questions I had about the modding. It was almost like watching a car assembly robot to see his practiced moves when disassembling/assembling the Wii. He installed/tested the modchip all within 1/2 hour. Thanks again Karl!

Slayers is an auto installer of a dashboard. X3ce bios does not provide a dashboard like evox, avalaunch or media center. Bios only lets you boot up that unsigned code.

I drove 2 1/2 hours to the Chicago address Karl gave me today and found a note on the door saying Karl doesnt live here. When we knocked on the door a little old lady with a thick accent told us she was his mother and she couldnt have him there any more doing all this work for drug money. He has been emailing me bits and bits of information about the 3 Wii's of mine that he has...but never all of the information I want from him...like a working phone number or an address where he is. He claims that he is working on the Wii's this week. And just today I received another email that he wants to meet me on Saturday afternoon so that I can pick them up. Again, with all of these crazy stories it's hard to believe. I want to believe that the guy is trying to do right, but it's hard.

If he stands me up on Saturday or if any other crazy shiite goes down, I'll be back on this board and I'm hoping we can rally up and get some things accomplished. It sounds like he has put too many of us in bad situations.

To answer another question someone had...when I met him, he was probably around my age (29) or a little older.

He emailed me this week that he was going to have my Wii's ready for pickup this Saturday afternoon, but I haven't heard anything since Thursday. He was to let me know where I could pick them up. So, if he does not contact me within the next 12 hours or so, I have no other choice than to believe he indeed has stolen my property and has just been stalling. For what reason, I don't know. Is he getting ready to leave town?

The good news is that I did meet with Karl this afternoon at his house...the same address that had previously been written...where his mother lives. In the end he fulfilled his promise to me by returning all 3 of my Wii's...modding and working. I waited at his house while he showed me that they indeed booted original and back-up games.

In all honesty, I believe Karl is trying to do the right thing. I believe that maybe he put me and "vicrick" on the top of his fix list because we met him in person and we can easily get to his house and/or work. I wonder if there is anyone else out there from Chicagoland who has dealt with him face to face that is still missing their equipment...or if the rest of you mailed him your items.

In my opinion, (and stories of drugs and money aside) Karl might have bit off more than he could chew. He needs to stop being so non-communicative and actually start answering people's questions. Those of you that have been sending him emails, just know that I was in the same situation. He was reading mine...he must have been reading yours too. I think he's just in a big hole right now and he's trying to dig his way out. So Karl, if you're reading this...answer your customers' concerns individually. Let them know that you are fixing this. And my advice to you that are still missing your items...don't drop it. Let him know that you are upset and that you want your stuff back.

Karl seems to be a talented modder and it would be a shame for everybody if this service ended this way. For his sake, I hope he gets it together and can continue doing good work. It seems to me that he has tapped into a pretty popular and potentially lucrative area. The amount of people that have been discussing this issue in past couple of weeks is proof of that.

This whole situation seems really shady. One member said they went to Karl's mom's house on Saturday and both Karl and his mom were there (and he got his stuff back). Another member went to the same house on Sunday and Karl's mom told him that she hadn't seen Karl, and he did not live there. Why is Karl's mom lying? Karl, what's the deal?

I'm pretty pissed right now, but I will wait until the end of the month before taking further action. Karl, please believe me when I tell you that I am not going anywhere. I will file a police report and/or take legal action against you. I'd be much more understanding if you would just come clean and let us all know what you are going through and how you intend to resolve this.

I'm not sure why I'm still checking this board, but I'm really curious to hear how all of this turns out for everyone else.

I was with Karl AND HIS MOTHER on Saturday the 12th at 12:30pm at their house while he demonstrated that my Wii's were in working order. It seemed to me that maybe she had let Karl back in the house and that maybe things would start getting better (but then again, what the hell do I know). So, if the mother is telling people that she hasn't seen him, then that's a lie. Why is she lying? Maybe because she doesn't want men gathering outside of her house. Maybe Karl is just as non-communicative with his mother as he has been with us and she doesn't know when he will or will not be there.

Everyone who was ripped off needs to contact the police now. You cannot wait any longer. Remember, the charges can always be dropped if you get your stuff back, but the longer you wait the more likely it will be your stuff is gone.

I've been through this before.. Please do not wait. And Karls mom is equally as liable for having the things shipped to her house. Worse case senerio you can sue Karl and his mother. Once she gets a judgment against her, she will know where he is right away.

what pisses me off is that somebody that dropped their wii off after me has already gotten it returned. i did as he asked (send detailed email), and have gotten no response. it has been 48 hours. i live a few hours from chicago, so it might be difficult for me to get together in person, but i'm interested in everyone's thougths on what we should do. i agree with a deadline.

i dropped my wii off on 12/26, and have not gotten it back.

I appricaite the the little leeway you guys are giving me. But please dont call my job. I already was asked why people are calling me at my job with wierd request. If I get fired, becasue people show up or what not,then there isnt much I can do to get the systems replaced, im not saying this because I want to be left alone, but not to kill the resource that is helping me to get out of this hole I got myself into, debt, messed up car ( 2005 scion tc) and I have to take public transportation. Im also not writing this to make you guys feel sorry for me , jsut so you understand the situation a little better.

p.s. It's nothing at all like buying bad weed. Owning a wii is perfectly legal (unlike weed). And the legality of modding is far from clear.

First of all quit making it out to sound like your a victim in all this, you have taken other people's property and lied to them. i went to your house 3 different times after you told me youd be there, i honestly don't care what sort of problems you have the only problems you should be worried about is all the systems you broke or sold or whatever it is you did with them. if you don't want ppl calling your work then i suggest you seriously fix the problems YOU CREATED. ok, karl, it seems as though you better provide a detailed plan soon with specific dates when our stuff will be replaced or this is going to get ugly. if you tell me 1 more lie, it is over. be honest and provide detailed information now. just saying you'll have it resolved by the end of the month is not acceptable...give us more detail. we all doubt that you can replace 6 consoles by the end of the month which is why we want to see a schedule. we might be more understanding if you give us a schedule and prove that you are delivering those units then on time as promised. you also better be saving every freaking nickel you have to get this resolved as well as finding another job if necessary. you really screwed all of us over, and we're pretty pissed off. don't push your luck. you're not really in any kind of position to negotiate with us.

I agree with karltookmywii2. Karl needs to set up a schedule. It's not that hard. Give us all dates when he plans to send us money or our stuff. The longer we wait, the less options we have. For all we know, Karl will keep dragging this out endlessly -- and we'll be left with no options. So far, he has returned 3 wiis to one guy. Nobody else has gotten anything.

On a positive note, I got an email from Karl yesterday. Ofcourse, it was only a couple lines and gave me no information. He just asked me to wait a couple days while he sorted other people out.

Karl, I want to believe you are serious about making this right. The only way to go about doing that is to provide a detailed schedule and be more communicative. I'm still waiting until the end of the month before taking further action -- but mark my words -- I will file a police report on February 1st.

And that supposed to prove what? I didtry to sell a ps2 with lots of games a while ago, I did disclouse that why where backups and you had to have originals in order to buy those. Also, that last guy from new york who did buy a premod, later returned a package to me with a ps2 all busted open ( not even a chip inside that I installed ) Good thing he didnt use tracking or paypal would have refunded his money.

For me personally, that guy is hilarious, I left for Europe that year and I was gone for a year. I came back into the states June of 07. It pretty hard to get a hold of someone when theyre not in the country.

I finished taking care of one more person:

RAFIK: 1 wii - expected resolve, the end of the month.
Larry- I dont think he posted here yet- 1 wii - expected resolve, the end of the month
VICK- 1 wii - expected resolve, the end of the month.
wertikalas - 1 xbox 360 - Expected to resolve this week.
non registered member - 1 xbox 360, not sure yet as Im still making arragements with him.

At this moment, I have exausted all my funds, so I will have to wait untill the end of the month to have 2 or three people resolved.

In all honesty, from what it looks like, I might not be able to resolve two people as expected at the end of the month. If there are two poeple that I owe to, are willing to wait untill Feb 15th, granted that others report that I met the arrangment by the end of the month, please let me know.

All I can say is WOW,

I really have no clue how to respond to the wonderfull comments youguys are leaving. I thought about how to respond for the past twodays and still cant come up with anything.
All I can say is thanks for understanding and your conitinued support and faith that I can still be trusted.
Reading these comments just makes me feel a more ashamed for what I have pulled with some of the members here.

Just an FYI,
I have successully resolved everyones problems. VICK should be posting in the next day or so taht he has been taken care of. I have a clean slate now, so hopefully future comments/reviews will show / prove that I can still do this like my history has shown to everyone that even people Europe where not afraid to ship me their system.

I can flash any Hitachi drive. Or if you really hate that drive, you can buy a sammy or a benq and I can take the key from your original firmware and make it work with a new drive.

I recently got my Hitachi 79 drive back chipped and flash, outstanding work done by Karl. I couldn't have been happier.

Problem is, he forgot to send the eject button with the drive. Its been two weeks and I still haven't received my eject button! Karl I'm tired of having my 360 shell-less, bare, and having to use a screw driver or pen to open/power my 360! Contact me!

Hey Karl you remember me i was the guy that got the black wii modded a few months ago. Well i have tried to contact you a few times asking about a refund, but you have just ignored my pms. I had my wii modded got it back and it worked for a day, you were cool in letting me send it back to get it fixed for free(you covered shipping both ways). When i got it back the 2nd time it worked for a week and it appeared to do the same thing as what it did the first time (please insert a disc). I told you that you did not have to worry about fixing it, and asked about a refund. I sent it to someone else and they repaired the wii, desoldered everything, fixing some of the parts that were damaged and then resoldered everything back. Anyways I am posting this here because I guess i can not get through to you in the form of pm. I am not trying to say that Karl's work is bad but every now and then something is going to happen in the normal course of business, I am sorry that it happened with me, but PLEASE post back or pm me. I have a E74 Xbox 360 Elite (Manufactured: December 2007) and I bought a new Xbox 360 Arcade (Manufactured: October 2008). My plan is for you to switch the insides of both 360s so the Arcade stuff is inside the Elite case and etc. Then I would like you to mod the non-E74 Xbox. Are you able to do this? Karl is a great guy who gives excellent service and is very fast, he's done 3 mods for me so far, XBOX360, Gamecube, and Wii. I'm going to get more done with him as well. I usually get the system back withing a week, unlike my Moorepower PS2 mod I am still waiting for 174 days later. I can always reach him via email or phone.

Thanks for the 360 mod this time Karl! I'll be ordering the modchip and shipping you the XBOX 1 next week and possibly getting a hold of you for a PS2 mod as well.

I have been putting off posting this hoping that Karl would come through, but after multiple attempts at contacting him with nothing being resolved, here we go.

I bought a brand new wii at the store and brought it to Karl to mod. I had not even opened the box which I handed over to him, along with 100 dollars for a chip and install. When I went back to his house to pick it up, he told me that he dropped my wii and it was broken. He promised that he would fix everything, and I would get a wii back. I made several attempts at contacting him over the phone, which eventually was shut off. I also tried contacting him via email a few times, and he only responded once saying he would fix it. It has been a month and a half since he broke it, and I am still out a wii, which puts me out $350 dollars.

DO NOT send your system to Karl for modding. I have used him in the past and have been happy, but with this whole fiasco recently he just can not be trusted. I have email / text proof if anyone wants it, just find someone else to do the work for you.

A spoke with Karl recently; he is visiting relatives in Poland and will be back in (I think) 1 and a half months or so.

He will be back eventually though and the person with the Wii problem, rest assured that he will fix it as soon as he gets back.

he may eventually check his messages or emails in poland, but if he doesn't respond you'll know why.

i'm sure he will post that he is back as soon as he gets back, until then just know that he is out of service at the moment, try again in a month or two.

On another note, i had my system flashed and hitachi laser POT increased to fix the unreadable disc error. both times he was greatly helpful and charged a very reasonable price.

@the person with the Wii situation, i'm sure he will help you out as soon as he gets back, don't worry.

I support Karl just as much as you do & I know that he'll take care of this when he gets back, but I'll be the first (and not the last) to say that he should've handled it a bit different.
ALSO - You said he went to visit family for a couple of months, right? When did he leave? These people are wondering if they'll have their systems back before Christmas.

Well Well, I have an update.....
I just received a package in the mail today from Karl...
Couple of phone parts I was hoping he could fix.
But No Wii or Note or Email, Nothing. Still no communication for him, just a package out of nowhere.
